Hello!
I have Rover 200, make year 1997, with 1.4 16V engine. I know it is possible to make it immo off with certain procedure by locking/unlocking the doors, but you must have key card ... which I don't. Is it possible to make it immo off in ECU? Thanks!

Open the engine ecu and must find eprom 93c46. Post dump. Tell us also what kind of ecu do you have.

Ok, here we go:
a) Picture of sticker on the ECU: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2523271/blokada_delo/04062010295.jpg
b) ECU inside, location of 93c46: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2523271/blokada_delo/04062010296.jpg
c) 93c46 dump in 8-bit mode: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2523271/blokada_delo/rover_93c46_8bit.bin
d) 93c46 dump in 16-bit mode: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2523271/blokada_delo/rover_93c46_16bit.bin
After you make this dump im*o-off, do I have to cut any wire? Many thanks in advance!

This is step by step procedure for immo off.
1. program ECU.
2. before fit it in car cut line between ECU and Alarm . in this case GRAY+BLUE
3. CUT:
- VIOLET+BLACK --> horm (car start, but if alarm is in ON mode will sound)
- BLUE+PINK --> led in dashboard (flashes when alarm is armed and ignition ON)
- YELLOW+RED ---> zummer in car (sound when alarm is On and ignition ON)
4. Cut BLACK+WHITE and connect it to GND. This is because when alarm is armed will NOT give GND on this wire and will not work STARTER.
5. Fit ECU in CAR and everything is OK.

Hi!
I tried today and the procedure does not work. I cut all wires in procedure and connected black/white wire from ECU to GND. (If I connect black/white wire from car to GND, it is in short circuit). The Autodata shows this wire is from ingnition coil, WTF? Any help appreciated.

You must cut only pin 13 inside ecu. Then make a bridge to start engine like in this photo. BEFORE reprogramm the 93c46.
Trust me brother this is tested solution.

This is step by step procedure for im*o off.
This procedure is not accurate enough. Here is updated version, 100% working:
1. Program ECU (do not fit it in car yet!)
2. Cut GRAY+BLUE wire on the ECU harness, pin #13 (in the middle row)
3. Fit the ECU in the car. (do not start yet)
4. Locate alarm module and connect BLACK+WHITE wire from Alarm to GND. Start the engine now. Engine works OK, but you can hear buzzer sound in the cockpit and red alarm light is ON.
5. Cut BLUE+PINK wire from Alarm (red alarm light: off)
6. Cut YELLOW+RED wire from Alarm (buzzer: off)

So tell me what was not CORRECT enough???
Your wires are same color like mine!
Also I gave one wire more - horn signal!

How the heck should I know, that at the point 3 of your instructions you have to work on ALARM module, not on ECU? I cut 4 wires of the ECU which don't need cutting and I had to join them together because of your inaccurate procedure. You can find all this wire colors also on ECU, not just alarm module. :S
BTW: Horn signal did not need cutting in my case.

This is about Rover 400, engine 16v.
I also have a problem with immo(in attachment i'm puting in 2 bin files with orginal reading from ECU and second after off immo) .
The car was not working, after removing immo, i have cut the cables(yellow&blue) thae car started. And there i have a problem because the car isn't working correct, it starts very hard, it smokes at high& low revs, no power.
What could have caused that? ECU damage? Has anyone got a virgin ECU dump for Rover 400?
I would be thankful for any help.

Hello,
Car running again, I tell this in another post I believe.
I cut from center locking box , a wire who is greenblue and 6 before end (horn)
I cut yellow on the side of the box (buzzer on washboard) in same alignment.
No jump need like rover 200 (mine was 416 SI)
For start, I cut black big wire from command (there are 6 wire ) and put it in ground.
Car start again fully.

Hello guys,
Could You please write in here how to program the ECU? Should I take 93c46 eprom out and program it with LPT programmer?
Regards.

yes you have to take out the eeprom and programm it with any serial programmer that supports 93c46 eeprom
