hello, everyone
I have a questions about toyota 4D smart key programmer(red). Will this devise program new blank transponder keys for a 2009 toyota matrix? Will it also program new blank keys for a 2000 honda s2000? I have working keys for both vehicals. What years will this item program keys?
Thanks very much....:barscarf:

hi, the red toyota dongle only work on toyota - that is why they call it a toyota dongle. it will work only with 4d keys and not 4c keys. it also only support immo 2 +3. no immo 4 or 5. it can also do proximity/smart keys for toyotas.

you can use the orange dongle with a buton on surface for smart / proximity keys. the orange dongle code 4d and smart keys. stick it in and program easy. have done a few already.

Does anyone know which transponder is used in a Prius keyfob? I've tried programming a Toyota 4C transponder key in a 2006 Prius, and that didn't work. So I hacked up the transponder key, removed the 4C transponder, and put in a transponder from a keyfob. Now I have an ordinary transponder key that works in the Prius. I just stuff the head of the key in the keyslot & the Prius can't tell the difference from a keyfob.
A keyfob is a really expensive place to get a transponder... Maybe there is a transponder key that uses the same transponder as the Prius keyfob?

orange dongle works on both key and smart for lexus / toyota from 2003 to 2010 4d chip with the red car blinking immo. light. will not work on the new "g" chip with the yellow padlock blinking immo. light.

ray ray i've tried my orange smart key programmer on a couple of 4d toyotas recently but no joy
i could only find the instructions on how to use with the smart/close prox. system
others have told me that it should work with normal 4d key too
so can you tell me how to use it when it's a normal 4d system
many thanks in advance

I have used to add keys but with all keys lost instructions say to press start button twice. Thats fine on smart but normal 4d key do you have to turn key to start position twice?

the buzzer button is what wake up the ariel to see the key id. so you can use a non transponder key and turn to the on position.you what to make sure to look at the immo. light when you place the dongle to the obd2 data port.it should be flashing ,next you will hear the beep.the first beep power is good to the obd2.the second 2 beep
mean it taking to the immo. at these point you see the immo. light stay solid (red) with in a 30second a stead beep will mean your ready to program, the immo. is in learn mode.know you can remove the dongle and the non
transponder key.the light should still be solid with no key in the ignation. if it is blinking you did not wait for the stead beeping.sometime that stead beep does not ring but the light is still solid and ready to learn keys. to learn keys once the light is solid, you just have to put into the key hole.remember the buzzer will wake up the ariel and see the id of the key.look at your light when you do these,it should blink when your key enter the keyway.the system would like to see 3 key 2master 4d-67 or 68 for lexus. sence the keys don't need to be cut to program, you can use 1key to give to the customer and 2 use key just to close the system.2master key and 1 valet key to close the system.remember that 4d valet
has a differant chip id then master and valet is the thrid key to learn.if you just want to close with just 1 key, once it blinks pull the key out and cycle 5 or 6 time and step on the brakes.very easy and fast system i love it.hope that help it only works on 4d system

Think the chips are the same it's just where they are programmed in the chip
Usually the last key to be programmed is the valet

yes read with a cloner and see the first 2 position of the key id. 32 or 52 master and 92 is valet off the top of my head.please check to confirm.

hi ray ray
many thanks for the info, but just wondering after you have programmed either one, two or three keys to immo using your instructions above do you still have to bridge the pins in obd plug for 30 mins to sync with ecu ?? :hmmmm2:

just done a rav4 last week (4d) by virginising immo etc. which i now believe i could have been successful using smart programmer. needed syncing after learning keys
does the smart programmer just put the immo into key learning mode and further keys are then added and does it delete the existing keys. the original comms between immo and ecu is not disturbed then, so it doesn't need re-syncing

about the prius, i have one and done several tries with help from Sogaro, the dongle will do only the immobilzer part (start the car when key in dashboard), coz the prius has two different ecu's Immo ECU and SmartKey ECU,

when i use SBB ,cannot communicate.
i also use my toyota smartkey maker(red colour)..cannot programming toyota mark-x smartkey system...
Did this orange dongle is upgrade version?

as a conclusion, specially for prius, if u want to add used key, you must reset the SmartKey ECU and then it will accept used keys, if the keys are NEW, it will add normally unless u have the maximum number of keys registered(5)

Hi m8 i did a Prius 06 yesterday and when you don`t have no prox remote to the car you will need two remotes and reset immo for 30 min with orange plug (origial mvp t-code pro only) then to program the prox you just need to switch between them after 10 sec cycled in prox slot the trick for the remote function is that if you are using second hand prox the remote section have a chance for not working right. to program that you need to reset ecu for 16 min and cycle them again in a weird sequence.
PS
For 2009 and up no need special plug so maybe can be done differently.
Hope it help someone.

the immo part (registering the keys to start the car) doesnt need any tools to add keys, its just a chicken dance (lock unlock open door close....)
and u need the red dongle only in case all keys lost, another thing, the immo part doesnt need reset to add used keys, but to program used proxy key u must do reset, maybe i didnt get your point

Dragging this thread out of the closet, can the samrtkey maker program 4d keys to say a Toyota Hilux 2007 where you would normally have to replace the immo ecu if all keys were lost? Have a customer that has only one slave key, has lost master key. Have one new genuine master key, and can make master chip with CN900 so I have two masters and one slave to exit programming mode, have never used the smartkey maker and i am nervous about ruining the immo box

Dash needs to be removed to get immo box, so hoping to do it by obd.
If smartkey maker is used to add one key, does it program as a master if a genuine master is presented? does it overwrite previous master?

4C has no master or valet logic. After a flash or reset of immo. Your first 2 keys will register as a master 3&4 are register as valet. If the car is a 4d then there logic in the chip 4D-67 Toyota 32, 52 master.

Hi,
I just got a PRIUS 2007 with all keys lost.
Could somebody be so kind and tell me what do i have to do, to make new key?
I was reading around the topics, but there is so many different info, that i can't realize what do i need for this car.
which tool do i need (i read about dongles in red, orange and blue) :)
and where can i buy a new key (big square one with remote on it-car has a slot in the dash for it)
and finally what is the correct procedure to do it (do i have to remove any ecu and read it's memory or no..)
Thanks in advance,
Br

To program immo and remote for prius generation 2 is very easy.
Can you do the smart function programming with a used key without using Techstream Passcode?
