Trouble installing VIDA

I am having enormouse trouble installing vida 2010A, the moment it displays "installing windowsinstaller31" i get a message saying "Can not start SQL-Browser" and can go further.
An help is appreciated.

I did remove all SQL and restarted the laptop (lenovo T61 with XP SP3) after trying to install vida gettin message right after " windowsinstaller31"

" Error number: 0x80004005
Description: [Micrisoft][ODBC SQL Driver][DBMSLPCN] SQL Server does not exist or acces denied
setup will now terminate"

What caused my conflict?
I tried to install VIDA with Visual Basics 2008 already installed which also installs SQL 2008. It was a pain to get Visual Basics software to uninstall. I was able to reinstall VB after VIDA install.

You must install vida only on Part c:\
on all other parts you will have many problems. I have had the same shid and now on Part c:\ its works super.

Well I have that exact same tab. I just cant figure out how to connect to my DiCE. Under the diagnostics tab the image on the left is not showing up. I believe that is what I am supposed to click to get this working. Any ideas. I will take a screen shot on monday for you to show you what I am looking at. I might just have to reformat this computer since its getting old anyways.

Spend the whole weekend trying to install, but no luck. Did everything explaned above but it could not install MSXML 6.0 and it stopt, even do i de installed it before.
Start with a virging computer is not an option cause there are to many programmes installed.
Hope you can help.

Which programs do you have installed? I know that BMW ETK can not be installled or Vida will never install. Send us your list of programs and maybe that will shed some light.

I added MSXML 6.0 Parser on things to do on above post!
Redo everything in previous post, but don?t install VIDA yet!

IE7
Clear the cookies and temp files in IE.
Internet Options/Advanced Tab (Restore Advanced Settings) (Reset IE Settings)

Install VIDA; select ?VIDA Customized? on setup page.
Check only:
Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1
Microsoft SQL Server Express
Un-check everything else click next
SQL will take some time to install, Ignore errors!

If this goes smooth, restart computer.
Install VIDA select ?VIDA All-in-one? on setup page.

This is the same problem I had; one of these combinations fixed it?


Hi all,

I must thank everyone of you for the effort you did to solve my problem. Especialy Iroll cause he gave already the solution.

The problem lies in "MSXML6" this must be uninstalled before starting installing VIDA, i did that using "remove programs" only it kept giving me errors not finding the file.
so i used "Windows Installer Cleanup utility" ( msicuu2.exe) to remove MSXML6 and it did.
So for the moment i am installing Vida, i will take a while but never the less it is installing the file.

In case someone has an upgrade like 2010B or C please let me know.

Hi me again

This is realy a nightmare, Vida works - downloaded patch 2010A and run patch. ok so far, put passw (1 or admin or info-pc) and then login. but now everytime WSL Login come's up and i can't go further, if i close WSL it displays No valid subscription - Could not cantact central system.
Any suggestions cause i am gone have a breakdown by now.

Go into vida configuration and change it from Internet to Ford Intranet. Then the next time that box pops up you just X it out. Don't try and type anything in there.

Delete:
C:Temp (if present)
C:VIDA
C;VIDASave
C:Volvo (if present)
C:\Program Files\Volvo (Delete ?Volvo? Folder)
Restart:

Install VIDA again.

Hey you should not have msxml installed. msxml parser is ok.
Here are other programs to not have:
MSXML 6.0 Service Pack 2 If you have it
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Microsoft SQL Server Native Client

Microsoft SQL Server Support Files

I bought clone Vida Dice few day ago and have problem, can not log in.
I have XP prof SP3, installation process went well except this error:

I patched to C: drive not to C:\VIDA, and tried other patches, I removed all SQL Servers then install again from cd, I reseted IE settings and nothing. Tried logins like: 1, info-pc and admin. Service Status is "Running"
Still the same "unknown error"

I have never seen this error. What programs are installed on your PC?

Looks like a java runtime error in the first picture. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling java.
