Hi.

I have a T30 and DK head.

The T30 is running DIS V56 but it is corrupt.

I need to install/upgrade to V57.

I have V57 iso and also EasyDIS base 44 v1.0 iso

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade or do a re-install?

I don't want to loose SSS/Progman which I can load by hitting space bar at boot and then typing "bootos 3"

Thanks in advance.

No, you don't need windowsxp.

Just a blank 80gb harddrive and dvd drive.

also the 12 dvd and the cd of ghost boot disk that is already include in the archive.
Also there is a guide file showing how to recover the ghost image.

After recovered the image, it is ready to use.

I've tried and it works.

Can I use a regular laptop instead of a T30? I am guessing the only reason to use the T30 is because of the DB9 port, but a USB-DB9 adapter should work fine with any other laptops.

Sure. You can use other laptops instead of T30.

hi, can you give me a type of machine which can operate from DIS IBM T30 or a tutorial explains you well detailed, because I have tried it on another machine and after copying dvd 12 I have this error on startup: Error boot failure Stage1

DELL D610 works fine with DIS.
Here you will find tutorial how to install DIS on VMware:

Sounds like the IBM T30 setup was not configured to boot with other HDD drivers than the one T30 is using. If you do not have a T30 (or compatible) laptop to modify the installation, you can use e.g. UBCD4WIN boot CD to fix the hard drive for your computer. Google for instructions.

I do not think you will be able to use other laptop to install this material cause all image is made after T30 with all T30 drivers and all what T30 need.
Sure you can use other laptop with VM machine but then you need to do lots settings for fix your tool to can work with.

You are right.Using other laptop than T30 requires VM machine but process of installation it is not so complicated as it seems.

Maybe not but as we know VM will slow down the comunications and all diag. process will be slower.I have this VM and DIS installed onn a Dell610 but moves slower like on a old T30 with native install.

This isn't exactly correct. It is possible to make the T30 boot on another laptop and once the HDD boots, one can install all correct drivers for that new laptop.

Perhaps you mean this is not practical because it involves a lot of work (I've done this a couple of times, a T30 HDD for another laptop and another laptop HDD converted to work on a T30).
