Hello,
I have a problem with Megane mentioned in topic. There is no speed showed in dash. THis cars have't got any speed sensor attached in gearbox, car speed is taken from ABS module. Threre are no faults in ABS, all speed sensors work well, but in Engine ECU there is just one fault: speed sensor signal faulty. There is also a parameter like vehicle speed in engine ECU but it always show 0km/h. In my opinion the problem is in connection betwen ABS and engine ECU or ABS and Dash.
My question is if someone has wiring diagrams for Renault Megane 1.9dCI 2002 (not Megane II) with engine F9Q and VIN:
VF1KA05052XXXXXX. (Lenguage: English, German or Polish? I have russian version but I have problems with reading it)

It is possible the vehicle speed is sent over the can or even the old ic,2 system , and not hard wired at all, any can faults logged.

We had one at M-H-M - this is the earlier shape - just to make sure.

The speed pulse wire goes from the ABS, into the fusebox/uch, (then speedo head) then branches out back into the engine bay to the engine ecu.

The one we had the wiring had gone rotten over the passenger side inner arch (RIGHT HAND DRIVE).

Simply found the wire - same color as output from abs *THINK* was white - ran new wire to abs module and joined to the wire in foot well - chatged customer lots of money, ~~~~ed it off. Left speed pule in ecu disconnected

Hi
Thanks for all replies. There is no can bus, because clip was not testing can bus like usual in vehicle with can bus. I will have this car on monday so will try to trace the speed signal wire from abs.

Hi
One more thing after reading some dialogys info. The speed signal goes from pin 22 (ABS) and in dashboard there is pin nr 23 vehicle speed signal (grey connector 30 pin).

P.S
Will let you know on monday

Ah - not going to argue with you, i said white - close - sorry no idea if this car is RH Dive or not. If it is:-

Passengers shins, yank loom down, THINK it is the only two greys, in/out, earth one - test probe the other. We drilled hole in bulkhead ran a wire.

if you remove the wheel arch - you MUST disconnect battery - if loom damaged - can blow engine ecu.

Aloso press the central locking button on dashboard - you hear bleep - turns on auto locking after 5 mph.

Meat.

Hi
I did the car today and it worked fine. Maybe someone will need the info:
- Dashboard: grey 30 PIN connector - the pin 23 is the speed signal from ABS,
- Engine ECU: grey connector, pin 4E - speed signal from ABS,
- ABS connector: Pin 22 - speed signal.

Thanks to all for helping me.

Hi
I soldered another wire to the Pin22wire(ABS connector) and led it through bulkhead to Pin23 in Dashboard connector.

May be you have change the radio with another one, speed is inside the radio, put the original radio and it is ok

Speed is inside the radio, what do you mean ? What is the connection between radio and speed signal from ABS ?

Hi...

Bringing a old thread back to life...

I Have a 2000 1.6 16v Renault Megane with a speedo that isnt working...
The speed sense comes from the ABS Module i have the grey wire. The Connector plug that sit along side the battery has already been removed and wiring reconnected.. someone has also had the dashboard apart as there is dirty finger prints inside on the clock faces.. I have traced the wiring down to the drivers kick panel and there is the connector block that and also where the wiring to the differant modules all join together.. all seems ok..

Under Diagnostics..
Live Data Is getting infomation from all four wheels
No Fault Codes Present

I Decided to scope the Grey Wire from Pin 22 of ABS Module to see if i was getting a pulse and found i was getting Battery Voltage.. I then tested the grey wire out from the ABS Module (cut away from rest of Modules) and appears to be no pulse..

My Questions Are.

Should i have battery voltage on this line And the Module Varies it or Should It Just Be Small Pulse Voltage ?

Also there are fours grey wires comming together (five if you included the one coming in from the ABS Module) in the kick panel.. where do they all go.. obviously one is dash, one is ECU and i guess one goes to the stereo but where does the other go..

As of yet i haven't disconnected the four to see which one is giving the battery voltage.

My other question is could this battery voltage (If Its not meant to have it) have killed the ABS module. ?

Also does anyone have a actual wiring diagram for this vehicle ?

Thanks in advance

Nik

If you have an aftermarket radio just read post no 9:

speed info on OEM radios= output for antenna in aftermarket radios=12v

If only this was the case... Unfortunately it still has stock stereo.... And even with it disconnected I am getting voltage... It must be something that's power latching as when the ignition is on its full battery voltage but when you turn it off it stays at battery volts for about 30 secs then drops to about 6 volts...

Strange I know....

Well sort of found fault... Seems like the spurious battery voltage had killed the module... So found which one of the grey wires was offending wire and removed it at the junction in the drivers footwell, replaced module and all was well again..

So where did the mystery wire/feed come from?

Hi,
I have Megane Scenic 2001year 1.6 16V with not working speedometer. I don't have speed sensor on gearbox. On ecu is one error - speed sensor broken. This car has ABS+ESP not only ABS so I think that in ABS pin 33 goes to the ecu and dash but I don't have this connection. In this car I have:
1) pin 23 (grean wire) gray plug dash has connection to 53pin ecu (probably pink color wire)
2) pin 1 radio (gray wire) has connection to UCH (gray wire) but not to dash
3) pin 22 ABS+ESP has connection to red plug in dash 12pin probably (i'am writing from memory)

Under fuse box nex to the battery there is 3 plugs. They are clean! Please help.
