Eberspacher diagnoze interface

Hi all!

Did have anybody a working schematic for EDiTH (eberspacher diagnoze software) ?
I build many without success.

So I use Edith and put an O-scope to serial port (com1) and wach the signals, I realise there is two mode that Edith is useing the interface. In one mode togeling the DTR (4) signal and than togeling the RTS (7) signal 3 times (while EDiTH says "Activateing diag") after that is "listening" on RXD(3) the signals from the heater. This is the mode that is use the most of the heater and this mod is not working for me :(.



The other mode is a simple K-line interface where is useing the rx and tx lines to send and recive data. This mode is working but only the 1/4 of the eber heaters use this protocol.



So i think the schematic has to look like two "TX" lines ( RTS 7 and TX 3) swiched useing the DTR signal and an recive RX (2). And ofcourse the level change circuit (max232 and transistors or opto).

I build one but without success :(. I think the signal levels and the inpedance is different on Eberspacher heaters. It not use the 510ohm impedance and the 12V level. (max232 and 7404 with transistors).

Any info are wellcome.

According to this site (http://www.blafusel.de/obd/obd2_soft.html) edith should work with kkl interface. But this information seems to be old, since you can only work with some heaters.
There is a link to some software and pdf's (www.espar.com - /www/espar.com/tech_manuals/Diagnostic Software/ (http://www.espar.com/tech_manuals/Diagnostic%20Software/)) if you not already seen it.

I knew this sites but thanks anyway. You gave me an idea with the KKL interface, I will use only the L line but I have to chang the levels or the impedance. Maybe it uses just only 5V like GM models ?

What I knew that 510ohm impedance is very low for Eberspacher heaters and it "kills" the RX from the heater. I can recive messages from heater at about 4,7k.

Maybe you can try to ask ebersp?cher. Since the software is freeware, perhaps they give out informations about the needed interface, too.

They have for sale ISO Adapter for xxx euro. I don`t want to spend thousen euros for one simple adapter because I have 2 heaters one in use other for hobby. I just want to see live data from the heater.

I made some progress :) . It can be easy read out/erase the codes with a swich+cap and an terminal program (hyperterminal).
Now I workin on the interface, some timing problems what i will resolve use a microcontroller. :lollypop:

I do not test on D3LC but has to work with that. This interface is not a copy of the original because it was developed by me, so can have bugs.
No I do not sell interfaces.
Try it and post results.

Cantiecar device working perfectly with new mode for ebrspacher.

Tested fully on D4WSC and D5WSC. Timer MUST be disconnected from unit because when activated timer drops power to clear codes for 3 seconds making a timeout occur. Heater must be powered on for diagnosis.

I was looking to make an interface for an airtronic M D4 - however the protocol appears to be different for that unit :(

I am thinking about building this interface.
I just installed EDiTH SW. At startup EDiTH SW asked me if I want to use a "basic" or "ISO" interface.
Am I right that the interface shown in this thread is like the "basic" one?
Is the only difference a electric isolation? Therefore I could use an USB Isolator
