I have vag 409.1 cable. Can i use it as OBD II reader for other cars

I have the vag 409.1 cable.
Can i use it to read other cars via the OBD II protocol?

If yes, which software?

You are out of luck for your model since it covers C70 until 1997, but you never know... :)

One mate here at dk wrote a program for ford, called it "dk ford"

Sometimes the kkl cable needs modifications for proper/full work (fiat, opel, carsoft), switch pin 7 to other pins.

I tried this and always get the message "wrong baudrate and there is no option to change baudrate. I also tried with galleto cable, baudrate o.k, but wouldn't read either.
Also the options for ecu are all greyed out.
I "heard" that a 409 serial cable should work. Does anyone know about this issue?

I have not used this program yet since I have other tools available however as far as I heard serial KKL is better than USB KKL, however USB also worked for some users...

It takes time and many attempts to make it right...

He shoud said-Forgot and not Forget and for Fiat ecuscan you dont need to modify ,the best way to cower all Fiat ALFA and Lancia is to have adapter cables or breakout box together whit kkl and elm,wright??

Maybe this is the best way but if cannot find a OBD mother connector you can use a switch inside the interface to change K-Line pins
I have a single cable with a switch and I use both VAGCOm and ELM327 but in the past I used that modify VagCom 409. I thisnk it is easy that to change everytime the adpators between them.

I searched a lot in the Dk but I didn't find it.
I downloaded times ago from here ( and I nevere find in my files ) but now I don't find it.

Vag-com 409 Only use pin number 7 to another software but you can change this.

The sw works with serial interface but I wanted to use it with USB one.
I will let you know if it works
The VAG kkl works just on 7 pins ( k-line ) it is true but this softwear acces the controler which use just this pin.
I mean you cannot acces the Engine ECU ( on pin 2 ) for instance.
Just ISO9141 no PWM.

Did u use it with 38 pins adaptor ( chinese one )?
And did you tried to connect to the Engine ECU?
If it so it is normally that it was a faild, just becasue the chinese 38 pins adaptors have the K-line on pin 15 which means that you can connect to the Instrument Cluster.
Am I right?

VAG grup cars work on pin 7
Fiat Grup cars works on pins 1,3,7,8,9,11,12,13
Mercedes works on pin 7 ( for adapter you need a multiplexor )
Opel work on pins 3,7,8 and 12

We talking about K-lines
