Hi

Since DIS v45 there is no coding in DIS. SSS is used for Coding/Programming.
But you may add coding from DIS v44. You need to modify Programm DVD V57 and add files for coding from Programm DVD v44.

ok thanks,

does sss also need dis for working? can i use it with v57?

or is it better to use inpa, i need this for E90 coding.

i need this for E90 coding.

DIS and SSS are two different programs and do not depend on each other.
Use DIS for diagnosis.
Coding and programming is better to use INPA, but using INPA only necessary to know
exactly what to do, otherwise you may damage the car.

Are you sure that INPA is for coding/programming?
I thought INPA- diagnose, DIS- diagnose/coding, SSS-programing.

I am quite sure. DIS and SSS are the dealer's software.
INPA is development software.
It consists of diagnostic (INPA) coding (NCS-Expert) and programming (WinKFP).
Read the documentation and you will understand.

NCS and WinKFP can do coding/programig but not INPA program. All of them are included under BMW STANDARD TOOLS.

Of course, but saying "INPA" we usually mean "BMW Standard Tools".

Hi

You need to modify Programm DVD V57 and add files for coding from Programm DVD v44.

Is this modifying difficult to do? Is there maybe a DIY?

You need to do
remove from original Progman DIS v5X
- packages\data\progmcfg.tar
- packages\scripts\i95progm

and add from Progman DIS v44
- packages\data\sgc_ecu.tar
- packages\data\sgcupdat.tar
- packages\scripts\i95sgcup
- DAT.XX\sgc

You may use DVD or iso image as you wish.

The OP mentioned he has an E90, I'm pretty sure that DIS won't code E90's. It's for E46 and lower chassis, if memory serves.

E89 family chassis (which the E90 is a member of) require SSS for coding and programming.

I did exactly what you said, the Coding/Program button is now enabled but when I click on it I get the following message.

The Progman terminal is being started, please wait a few moments,
and then,
''No Progman server could be found''

Are you sure I only need to delete 2 files from v57 and add 4 files from v44 to the V57 dvd?

Thanks.

Yes, I'm sure.
I did it in different version of DIS.
Beginning with 45 and ending 57.
