Hi, got a zafira here, no spark to coils, ecu has been changed to elimate fault but still the same

Help plz!!!!!

l had an astra 16 16v with the same codes and it was the pump replay on the bulkhead , yellow one , cleaned it inside and car started

only 2 relays there, both purple. both fine

there is no power to coilpack

when i try cranking car, all needles on instrument cluster go dead as if power is off, cud it be an earth fault??

Alreet pal had few with this Z16XEengine with faulty ecu there shit hybrid type on the side of the head, but with you saying about the clocks sounds may be like a bad earth or relay ..... Have you checked the pin,s on ecu see if your getting all + and - feeds??

ecu been changed so thats outta the question

there was a relay connector (brown) number 7 on smirnoffs picture with no relay init, cud that be the fault, although i seen another scrap car with no relay there either

Hi

If you have checked the power and earth on coil pack as I say (B+) on Black wire and (B-) on Brown wire, and rest all other wire from coil pack to ECU is OK and the Coil Pack it self is good.............

Than My Money is on Faulty ECU mate................

How sure are you with the replaced ECU is 100% good

Edited: F46 is the fuse for the Main Relay, Fuel Relay, and the Coil Pack as well near drivers foot fuse box.................

ecu is changed mate, same error codes on both

Is the earth wire on ECU OK.............can you add another earth wire to the ECU direct from battery

I have a 51 plate 1.6 Zafira. Whilst driving on the motorway last friday the engine just cut out. I pulled over and the car then started fine and drove another few miles when it did the same. The green flag recovery man put the diagnostic computer on and it came up with "fuel pump relay open circuit" we could not get it going so i was towed home. I have got a new relay but this doesnt solve the problem. the engine will run fine for a while then just cut out. The mechanic said the relay was the pink one (number 3) under the bonnet. which is the closest of the two pink ones when you look in the engine bay. I bridged this relay and still had the same problem. So I shorted the second relay (the second pink one, the one furthest away from the front of the car, no 4) and the car runs fine. it seems this is the one that supplies the power to the fuel pump. So i think i have found the problem but cant work out what is causing it. whatever tells this relay (no 4) to switch on is switching it off for some reason. Can anybody suggest what might be causing this problem. Also can anyone tell me what relay 3 & 4 actually do????

I think this is the right answer. Check continuity from fuse F46 to the black wire on the coil pack (pin F, also on this pin there should be 12v with the ignition on). Can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn the ignition on?

has the ecu multiplug been probed during testing, sometimes the pins expand and when refitted to ecu poor connections cause same error code to return..

So on face value everything is presant and correct - in terms of power immo to ecu - crank, foo-foo etc

And/or unplug the coil - crank again - see if speedo still goes.
and/or do with lights and wipers/heater on see if they stop or just dim

Not really bothered, but could even be the coils are live whilst cranking and it's shoving an positive back up the ecu wirng - cut the solid brown - connect to chassis - cut the black, run to a flick switch on the dashboard - like you normally do

Check with multimeter all + and earth near main relay an ECU also check 12 v in ignition coil Check wire between ECU and main relay

i put 12v at black wire but still no start, iv left plugs out to dry, maybe it was wet plugs causin it not to start

main relay open circuit, cant remember p code.
no power to coil pack.
looked at wiring diagram, and from ign switch, then to a fuse, then to coil pack, but there are different wiring for these, what year is yours mate?

Where you got second ecu from.

You can try and fix those broken wires . But at this time of the year i am not prepared to do that . Must take at least five bears to steady the hand on the soldering iron and then you must just think of tracy barlow and not let her get near you while you at repairing it . if you bump one of those gold wires it is a goner . ( Put on dustbin on lid or on side or inside then . ):celticparty:

Got this sack of sh1t going today.
Constantly throwing up fault codes for high voltage on ignition coil input line for cyl 1,2,3,4.

Found earth connector in coil pack multiplug was bad, so ecu was seeing battery voltage coming back through its switching circuits!
