View Full Version : How can I use my Sky subscription in my DM 800 HD?

I have a old style Panasonic Sky Digibox (No HD, or Modem input), with a subscription to sky until december.
How can I use my sky card in my DM 800 HD?
I read on this post, that the box posts back to sky through the modem, But seeing as I dont have a connection to the modem from my sky box, I dont have to worry about this right?
http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f205/sky-card-dm800hd-100327/
I would like to remove my Sky box completely and use the Sky card in my dreambox to decrypt the channels that I have paid for.
So Its impossible for sky to know I'm doing this right?, seeing as I don't have a modem connection.
Is this ok, will I get charged for 2 subs, or will the card break doing this in a clone DM 800 HD?

No you can use it in the DM800 either by using an Oscam & CCcam config or if your not bothered about clearing PickTv channel then just use CCcam on its own. You just need your boxkey from your current sky box for this to work.

Still no joy.
I installed CCcam 2.2.1 on my 800 Clone.
I edited the CCcam.cfg with this:
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 7digithex
Inserted my card, activated CCcam, and restarted the box.
But it doesnt work.
What am I doing wrong?

oops..
But how come when I convert my 10 digit serial number (after removing the first 2 zeros), (now its 8 digits), I get a 7 digit hexadecimal number?
Example: (Not my real serial)
My Serial: 0023780993
Hexadecimal: 1C644BF
Do I have to add a 0 to the front or something?

i think the number off the sky box is more than 10 digits somewhere near 16 or 17 digits i think....sorry cant remember...and can't find my box

Yes you put a zero in front

Yes you put a zero in front
This didnt work either. What am I doing wrong?
Here is step by step:
1. Sky box Menu > 10 Digit Serial number
2. Remove the first 2 `0's` from the SN.
3. Use windows calculator to convert the (now) 8 digits, into a 7 Digit Hexadecimal.
4. Put a `0` in front of the 7 digit hexadecimal to make it 8 digits.
5. Install CCCam 2.2.1 full
5. Put the line `BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 0H3XD3CI` (Not my real hexadecimal), Into CCCam.cfg.
6. Insert my Sky Card, activate CCcam, & Full reboot the box (not just enigma)
But still does not work. What am I missing in the above steps?

Yes I did remove the line comment, There is no `#` Anywhere within the file, I deleted everything in CCcam.cfg and put in the line as above, without commenting out any lines.
Still no luck..

I don't know much about the Dreambox but this is the instruction I followed when I had a card
on sky box go to Services
on the options select Settings
Down button and select Details
this will show your 10 digit serial number
take the 10 numbers and convert them to hex
(if it begins with any zero's these will obviously not go into calc)
this will give an eight digit number
(if less than eight then put zero's in front to make it eight)
this number is your boxkey
Use Dreambox Control Center to connect to dreambox and click on ftp
then open the etc folder and right click on cccam config file
then scroll down until you see the boxkey (line 317 I think)
and delete the # symbol and replace the last 8 digits with
your boxkey.

I seem to have a similar problem with my DVB800HD
I have a card with a full subscription (borrowed from a friend) and his 10 digit box serial number
I've created the 8 digit hex key and altered the boxkey line in CCcam.cfg to read (including deleting the #)
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 ww xx yy zz
I've also tried
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 wwxxyyzz
Any suggestions?
thanks

this is how my line is BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 22 2X 2X 22
then you should activate the cccam and restart the box. that should clear the channels

yep done all that.
Is there any way of telling that the box is reading the card and that the card is valid?

I used this generator to make a box key. It was no different from my original one. I also used the serial on the back of the box, (16-17 digits). But still no luck.

YEY!! :D Got it working.. duno wtf I did tho!
First, I removed all other cams (I was using MGcamd 1.35a). Removed them all. (Reboot for good measure)
Then I first installed CCcam 2.14 + New CS 1.67 (Im using DreamElite), That DID NOT work.
So Again I uninstalled. And then installed CCcam 2.14 full.
Then, Edited the CCcam.cfg line 317-318, with a generated box key from here: NDS boxkey generator (http://boxkey.exyucs.com/generator.php?lan=en) (Use at your own risk, Or make the hex yourself)
I used my 17 or 18 digit number from the back of my sky box (on a little sticker).
Then activated the Cam, rebooted.. and Voila! :D
Then I changed my MGcamd to CCcam, and added the line BELOW the box key, (actually, right at the bottom of the CCcam.cfg), now first it checks for the box key, then anything else!
Hope this works for you!.. Let us know how you get on.
Now, how can I share this card around my house only? I just want to share it with 1 box on my local ip.
Thanks for all the help DK guys!!

Glad you got it sorted weedman but i would never use an online boxkey generator theses kind of sites have been well known to sell your serial numbers back to sky as you can imagine your boxkey is unique to you and no one else and just from that they have all your details name, address, phone and what you subscribe to.
The only reason i say this is because it was well known this is how sky found out the UK card servers by buying the details form sites like you have just used.

You press right and left in the blue panel cam selector.
Move to CCcam 2.1.4 (using up/down), then press right/left to navigate to `Common Interface` or `CCcam 2.2.1`.
If you still cant see it, try rebooting (although this is not needed).

I'll try to borrow a card and serial number
I'm a bit confused about how to generate a boxkey as information seems to differ
some threads say to use the 17 digit code on the bottom of the box - the serial number I have is only 16 digits - and use a keygenerator
Some threads say use the 10 digit code from the menu s/n and just convert to 8 digit hex
Other threads say take the first 2 digits of the 10 digit menu to make 8, convert this to hex - I think it says this gives a 7 digit hex key but in my case I only get 6 digits - and then add a zero to the front
Anyone explain the reasons or give clarification or point me at a reliable thread?
thanks

as a general rule you will find that the ten numbers in the sky menu are the same as the last ten on the box
but if number on box was D123456789 then in menu it changes D to 0 and becomes 0123456789
so if you use the calculator with either number you will get the same box key

I don't know which calculator you are using but I think you might be getting wrong box key
try the Windows calculator
open windows calc and click on the view tab
select programmer mode
select Dec
put in your 10 numbers
then select Hex and the number it displays will be your boxkey
check if its the same as you have been trying
or if you want to PM me your 10 digit number I will PM you your boxkey

Dont give up mate, its not hard at all.
Check your PM.
Are you sure you are using the serial from the SAME original sky box the card was in?.. Ie: you cant use a sky card from one box, in another sky box. It can only be used in the 1 original sky box. Are you sure your using the serial from the correct sky box?
Making the hex is not difficult, Im sure its another problem unless you really got it wrong.
Few tips (from when I had problems)
- CCcam 2.1.4 full (worked for me)
- Remove all other Cams (MGCamd etc)..
- Make sure you are copying your CCcam.cfg (and its not failing the transfer when you think you are copying it).
- You will have to reboot your box after changing the CCcam.cfg. Do a FULL reboot (not just enigma2), to be sure.
If your still having problems. I'd suggest start from scratch. (Its what I would do)..
- Install a brand new image
- Install CCcam 2.1.4 full
- EDIT CCcam.cfg (around line 318, with your boxkey)
- Reboot your box.
- Activate CCcam.
