I do not have an upgrade by USB Option under Tools, am on DSB2-10-10-26 1647CMT (forgive me could be slight of, can not see now) and need to upgrade Firmware due to crash on card insertion.

Perhaps someone can settle a ... "dispute". I am also a new S11 owner and managed to get everything set up just fine.. EXCEPT my sealion (cute disguise) doesn't reach the server. I believe that this is because, like many folks, I have a password-protected router. To gain access to the internet through it, one has to input the password - even my iphone has to do it to use the wifi through my router. I can find no way to input this password on the S11 and my mate says there shouldn't be any need to do so.. and yet it doesn't work.
Anyone have an opinion on this one... or a solution?

Ok I managed to solve it, turns out my homemade cccam.cfg using notepad was still txt format. I tried then by saving it as all file types but still no good. Then I dumped the cccam.cfg already on the box to my usb, opened it my pc and edited to suit, uloaded back to box and voila. HTH anyone else stuck.

Ive stopped being thick now and managed to get a line up and running, mu only issue now is that ive installed that scooby snacks on the box so the only satellite it shows is Sky 28.2E. when i scan i dont get a full list of channels, i get loads of ITV and Channel 4 ect.... Nickelodeon and a few others but no sky 1 Films and appears the sports channels have codes ie 34102 instead of Sky Sports 1

I tried adding that AJs list but when i go on the channels there is says no signal. I know the line is working??

I follow the set up and imput all info but no TV.
in the Network Setup...I connetcted the ethernet cable ,turned DHCP to OFF and ON...Apply.
NEWCam Server Setup: Newcam server Parameter..Server setting ' on',TCP port ' 10410 ' and dthe DES Keys 'xxxxx28 timexs' ..these are the keys it was from the Private Server.
Newcam Serv User Manager ' enter user and P/W.
In the CCcam Client Setup ' Manage Conf files ' ' CCcam.cfg'
Enterred the Server Private info ' IP,User,P/W and port,Des keys ' press the Green button (Active ) ...still No tv

thanks for the helpful suggestions but im truly lost and need help with my new OB S10! I am currently running a Strong box in Australia and its set up to receive Optus D2/ku.

now i have opened up my S10 and tried to set it up but cant find any Sats that are remotly in my range and wish to simply access those FTA channels which were already available to me through my Strong box.

i have read the set up guide and searched the internet for help but still have no option to scan nor find any thing to view!? i am new to clines and tried to put in the info which came to me in the box but that comes up as No active and im at a loss as to what to do...?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and forgive me for repeating my needs for help, if i had known the difficulty i would have purchased another box! surely it cant be hard to get FTA on the Optus D2 Sat???

Bit of strange one this. I installed immediately on a family member's box and just couldn't duplicate the steps for the next two people I helped out. It took about 3 hours of trouble shooting different ways to load stuff onto the box, but it all seemed to work out in the end. I'm not good at articulating help questions so instead of asking on here, I just get stubborn and keep messing around until it works. Not everything has a quick fix, right?

still, this guide is a great port of call for getting the basics done in the right order. Thanks!

The image file is commonly known as the firmware when you see post about updating firmware you are updating the image file maybe a fix or added extra, you will notice firmware files are in .abs format.

"Eurobird 1 & Astra" means 28.2/28.5e. The same satellites that S l y UK broadcast from.

On your remote press menu then network settings press 6666 on remote to reveal secret menu.

I have flashed the box using the instructions provided in the tutorial. That seemed to be easy with the guide. It wont let me load a file for the channel list either? Just sticks on abs file? Is it screwed now or am I missing something?? Thanks in advance! Ok update, I am an ass as I flashed with the old 2012 version of the F5 firmware. It wasn't happy! Flashed with the correct file and it is much happier. Managed to load AJ's channel list so a big thanks to him also. Still cant get into secret menu? And I am having trouble viewing some channels? can anybody please help and thanks to those who have helped me so far. After flashing I can now get into secret menu but I don't know what to do next? You might as well install a channel list first, as soon as you get the box. Then you can check that the box is working OK on FTA channels, before the magic happens. :smug:

If you click on that box (or I sometimes have to double click on it), it should bring up your download options box. Works with IE9 & Firefox.

Hey mate can I get some help please. Got my skybox today and so far ive downloaded the channel list and loaded it up with a normal usb. At the back of my box of i have power cable, hdmi and wifi usb. Whenever i try to type my password in, it keeps saying timed out. Somebody said to change router setting to wpa only but stil didnt work. Anything else I can do? Im guessing until that connects itll keep saying no signal on channels?

no signal means (just what it says) dish moved ....cable in the loop instead of input....box dead....break in the cable..dead LNB.....box setup wrong

Skyboxes are satellite receivers. You need to connect a cable from a satellite dish to the LNB IN connector at the back of the box.

What model of box does your uncle have?

It's still possible to use You Tube & You P0rn without a sat connection.

the guide was setup to tell you the basic's of setting a box up without breaking the rules on DK & has just under 60'000 views
i guess it must of helped some members.....saying that 60'000 views & 40 thanks .....sounds a bit shit ....did't see your ID on the thx's list

I edited my "request for help" post as the solution was found elsewhere... I picked up a more accurate "guide" elsewhere.... feel free to Google it...

So you asked a question on the 27th. Didn't get an answer by 28th, so slag off forum members for not sharing info!

...and rather than telling Shady to update his guide (wtf) there's nothing stopping you from writing a guide specially written for the F5s. Not that there's any real need. I think more than your "30%" is still relevant to the F5s.

I wrote that guide over two years ago, and from reading the comments posted, it helped some people. If it helped just one person I'd have been happy. Open box and skybox s/w may well have moved on, and as I haven't had one for a year or so, nor have I been on dk as regularly as I used to be, I may be slightly out the loop. However as cunny said, he used the guide with no problems, and as admin haven't had a slew of complaints about it's invalidity, I guess it's still relevant to most.
Like I said, it helped a few people prior to your problem and I wager it will help a few more after you have gone....oh wait, you've gone already.
Dk is quite simply the most helpful forum on the Web, if people don't agree, fine, go elsewhere, but don't use this forum to slag off the people who help.

If you mean load a channel list then check Aj's 1st post there's a step by step guide
also in shadys guide
& maybe in another 300-400 post's on DK with the same info

My f5s box was working fab has been for ages but recently more and more channels started disappearing until they're all scrambled now, a friends showed me how to do a satellite search which worked and they were back for a while then they disappeared again so my 13 year old thought he could do it and now he's cocked it right up I think he's changed settings we used to have sky, Astra and euro bird now we got no signal and as I've only got iPad I can't open the setup guide so any advice would be much appreciated cheers

One thing I have noticed is my Signal intensity goes from 95% down to 45% & the signal quality drops to 10% would this be a lnb or dish problem?

right i just bought an f5s after repairing someone's f3 box last weekend, i just reloaded fireware as it was in a bootloop, then re-added a channel list... everything started to work great! i think the major problem with sites like this, is people changing words from cccfg to bleeding sea-lion etc.... i come from an army background where three letter abbreviation are abundant, but we're also taught that not everyone has a clue about your job/hobby and are unaware of these terms... so you either explain what each is and their variables... or you do a glossary of terms so there is no confusion! you may know what u mean... a noob don't!

We are not supposed to discuss anything to do with the "C" word. That's probably why most members use alternatives (patsy, sea lion, gift etc.) when describing it.

...and even when using alternative names, we still cannot go into detail about it, so I doubt you will see any explainations or glossary.

I Have downloaded the tutorial at the beginning of this thread but I'm not exactly sure what a .abs file is or even where to get one. I've browsed the section n can't find anything about it either, unless I missed it somewhere. Can anybody help me out please.

hi mate abs file is firmware not needed unless your box is not working right,your box will prob have the latest firmware (abs) so all u need is latest channel list
