Hi,
I have an unlocked, debranded Huawei e160 with voice disabled. No matter what program I try it refuses to enable.
Any suggestions?

Strange, most of the info off the web seems to say it does.
I've also got an Orange e1752 which has been unlocked and debranded but for some reason it wont work with the generic mobile partner with the Orange sim. I keep getting "error 619:A connection to the remote server could not be established". It does work with another sim like MTN, and the Orange e160 works with all sim's.

Error 619 is usually because you have not set up a connection profile for the new SIM.
Switching between the E1752 and the E160 on the same machine will usually give errors! Try editing a new profile for the E1752 in place of the original one...
The E160 as far as I am aware will not do voice, the E160G might!

Thanks Jim
All my APN settings disappeared for some reason. When I was flashing the generic Mobile Partner the Orange software setup ran, maybe that did it.
And the e160 comes up as e160x, and guys at DC-unlocker forum are getting voice on this thing.

If I recall correctly, there is E160, E160E, E160G and E160X and there are differences between them!
If you need to update the firmware look here:
DC Files - Huawei E160 (http://www.dc-files.com/files/huawei/modems/E160/)

I had already been there and updated the firmware, thanks though.
I just opened MDMA an it says it is "network locked please contact operator for 6-8 digit code", but I can use any sim from any network and connect.

Check that no parts of Mobile Partner are still running with Task Manager. The E160 works 100% OK with MDMA...

I just tried MDMA with the unlock switch and the NCK code I used before to unlock the thing and it worked.
One progeam reading MDM data says "Voice: disabled, locked to:64114, sim lock: unlocked". I'm pretty sure 64114 is Orange network here. See the attached screen shot.

I would not use this program as there are some bad reports of modem damage with it.
MCC & MNC 64114 is for Orange Uganda.
Download DC-Unlocker client software and check to see the voice status:
Unlock phone, modem or data card with DC-unlocker software (http://www.dc-unlocker.com)
Also with Hyperterminal connect to your modems COM Port and try the following:
AT^CVOICE=0 Enable Voice
AT^CVOICE=1 Disable Voice
AT^CVOICE=? Check status
Do NOT be tempted to issue any old AT commands as you could permanently stuff your modem!

Ya, I saw the thread about that prog as that's where I got it. I didn't unlock with it just tried to enable voice.
I tried DC-unlocker a few days ago and it says voice disabled. I also tried the AT commands and get =1 locked. AT^CVOICE=0 gives me ERROR.

Well, thanks for the help. I've wasted enough time on this thing anyway.
