Monster munch, bermuda triangles, jaws, odduns, quarterbacks, transform-a-snacks, space raiders etc etc.
When, and why, did crisp manufacturers lose imagination? all these crisps were bought out in the 70's and 80s's, so weve had over 20 yrs without a decent packet of crisps with a gimmick. its all 'sea salt and balsamic vinegar' or ~~~~ing 'rosemary and saffron infused chilli chocolate kelp' flavour or some shite like that.
I want american cheeseburger flavour etc
And they all look the same, no open shark mouths, no triangles, no little men with wheels to attach, no back stories as to why an inter-galactic war necessitated a packet of crisps.
Gimmicky crisps are what made Britain great, and now its all ~~~~ing shit.
Yeah i know you can still get some of the crisps, but the fact remains that they are over 20 yrs old and getting crapper, i mean wheres the toasted cheese flavour space raiders? can only get pickled onion nowadays and in multibags at that...

Salt 'n Shake! lazy b@stards couldn't be bothered to put it in themselves. Probably wont get away with it now coz too much salt... Salt is good..mmmm
I live and work in a place with an S word... shady doesnt like me saying it, so I won't. And in my town there are no salt and vinagre crisps.. 2 supermarkets and NO salt and vinegar.. ~~~~ing ridiculous. The nearest town that sells S&V is 35km away.
Its all sour cream and whatever here, dill, chives etc.
I am the biggest importer of S&V crisps to S... but I eat em alll myself.

you got me thinking of what I used to eat as a kid and remember these three.
Potato puffs
Horror bags
hedgehog
I also remember making keyrings out of empty crisp bags by putting them under a warm grill until they shrank to the size of a matchbox.

I like 10p crisps but they're not 10p anymore. They're 15p, sometimes 20p and even a mindblowing 30p. I wish they was still 10p so I could buy more with the pound I get for doing the washing up.
Favourite crisps at the moment are the timeless classic that is known as Happy Snax

The rabbit freaks the living bejesus out of me but you nearly always get more than the specified 20 packets.
My record is 23 packs.
can't beat that for a quid

The potato puffs were superb in salt n vinegar flavour, a used to buy 5 packets and put them in one bag and scrunch them all up, stick it in a well buttered roll and you have the perfect diet for a 4th year kid in any British school..

a simple bit of googling informs me that you can only buy them now in Scotland.
Makes sense since a trip to scotland is much like a trip to 25 years ago
