What's New - Cat ET 2012B

* 2012B Content

SIS Links

A feature has been added which will allow users to directly access the SIS website through links in the service tool. Linked information includes technical bulletins, service letters, and service magazines. These links are populated dynamically, which means they will correspond with the Product ID and serial numbers currently connected to the service tool. This feature may be accessed by selecting "SIS Links" from the Information menu. A SIS Links icon can also be added to the toolbar by selecting "Custom" --> "Toolbar" from the View menu.

Trainer Updates

The 627 Wheel Tractor-Scraper has been added to the Trainer feature. This addition allows users to replicate a Tier4 engine environment. Additionally, certain parameters in some applications have been enhanced to simulate real-time changing data. This allows users to view dynamic data in the Data Log and Status screens.

Preferences Updates

The Preferences dialog has been updated. In the ?Directories? tab, users may now set a preferred directory for all of the features that save a file. In the Confirmation tab, users can now select ?ECM Replacement Reminder.? When this option is selected, if ECM(s) are replaceable, a message will appear after the Winflash button is clicked which allows users to stop the Winflash startup and go to ECM replacement.

Product Status Report enhancements

Product Status Report has been updated so that the time to download histogram data is now greatly reduced. Additionally, all information contained in the Product Status Report can now be imported into other applications. To utilize this capability, please contact the help desk.

QR code functionality in the FPS screen

A function has been added to the FPS screen that allows users with smartphones to scan a QR Code, which will launch the FPS Mobile website on the phone. This allows users to obtain passwords in locations where Internet access is not available, but cellular data coverage is. In order to utilize this functionality, users must download a QR Code reader application onto the phone.

IE9 compatibility

The service tool is compatible with Internet Explorer 9

OK, what am I doing wrong?

I installed 2012b. I renamed the original comet.exe file then copied that 2011c comet file to \common files\offboard information products\2012b\comet but 2012b fails to start. It gets a fail to load comet error.

I think I may have to install 2011c with that comet file then upgrade to 2012b but I don't have a copy of 2011c to try it

I got mine activated for $250 dollars but it was not by specdiag and it works fine

The comet file wont work, there is a xml file to be created, if you do manage like I did to get rid of the activation screen the program will not connect with the engine, so I had to pay to get it activated and specdiag is away too expensive, so |I found another installer.

Just so everyone is clear, the keygen thats going around for 2012B is PC locked. Yes, i do understand that there is an activation code given with keygen to get it to work. But if its activated on another PC than the original PC that is locked to it wont create working licences. its will create a key.file but they wont work. its another built in protection.

My notes on above: Take your pick which download but use the pswd to unzip them. You will only get 2 files: keygen.exe file, pasword.txt file. The pasword.txt file is a mystery to me. The keygen.exe file is missing a major component. You need to find the keygen.key file from any ET 2012B keygen you've downloaded, put it in the same directory as the keygen.exe so you'll have 2 files in 1 directory: keygen.exe (unzipped from the 1.1.rar file) and keygen.key. Run keygen.exe and it should have 1.1 on the top line as the ET 2012B keygen version. Put in your Mac Address and generate your license.dat file. Put that file in the c:\flexlm folder. Continue with the install instructions. This is an unlocked keygen but as soon as you use it, it will lock itself to that PC (I think) so unzip 1.1.rar on the PC you will be using it. We have 3 PC's and this key gen only worked on 1 of them. I am troubleshooting the other 2 computers to see what is wrong. I cannot find the data file generated by ET 2012B to see where it is going wrong when it boots up. I can see when the program starts up, it's not even looking at the license.dat file. The computer that et2012B works on takes awhile to start the program but I am sure that is because it is loading the license.dat file. I did not make this keygen. I don't have the skills to do this. I just found it online and I'm not sure how I found it so please if you know who made this, give credit where credit is due...not to me. Now...about the keygen.key file. I had a whole bunch of these files on my computer and I opened each one of them with textedit and they all had exactly the same information in them. That is why I think any of them will work with this keygen. Without it, you won't be able to generate a proper working license file.

Don't forget, you still need to get the patch files and the install instructions.

SIS Links

A feature has been added which will allow users to directly access the SIS website through links in the service tool. Linked information includes technical bulletins, service letters, and service magazines. These links are populated dynamically, which means they will correspond with the Product ID and serial numbers currently connected to the service tool. This feature may be accessed by selecting "SIS Links" from the Information menu. A SIS Links icon can also be added to the toolbar by selecting "Custom" --> "Toolbar" from the View menu.

Trainer Updates

The 627 Wheel Tractor-Scraper has been added to the Trainer feature. This addition allows users to replicate a Tier4 engine environment. Additionally, certain parameters in some applications have been enhanced to simulate real-time changing data. This allows users to view dynamic data in the Data Log and Status screens.

Preferences Updates

The Preferences dialog has been updated. In the ?Directories? tab, users may now set a preferred directory for all of the features that save a file. In the Confirmation tab, users can now select ?ECM Replacement Reminder.? When this option is selected, if ECM(s) are replaceable, a message will appear after the Winflash button is clicked which allows users to stop the Winflash startup and go to ECM replacement.

Product Status Report enhancements

Product Status Report has been updated so that the time to download histogram data is now greatly reduced. Additionally, all information contained in the Product Status Report can now be imported into other applications. To utilize this capability, please contact the help desk.

QR code functionality in the FPS screen

A function has been added to the FPS screen that allows users with smartphones to scan a QR Code, which will launch the FPS Mobile website on the phone. This allows users to obtain passwords in locations where Internet access is not available, but cellular data coverage is. In order to utilize this functionality, users must download a QR Code reader application onto the phone.

IE9 compatibility

The service tool is compatible with Internet Explorer 9
