Prior to StartKeyCenter being introduced, that statement was true.Starutils never supported windows 7, you would not get Xentry in the application pull down menu.It checked to see what OS was running anything newer than XP, would not show xentry option.With StartkeyCenter that is not a problem now, regardless of whether it's Compact 4 or not.Also you can see win7 dll's introduced in newer versions.Prior to these changes it would not support it because it was not designed to, where now it is, even though MB holds the same line.

i don't think MB support PASSthru interface..
the latest version i saw is 01.2011..and they support CAN bus only. u can't diagnostic car..
by the way..the C3 is very cheap now. i see no reason why u needs pass thru..

Unofficially i would say it does, I would forget about passthru it's a dieing standard even a C3 regardless how cheap it is cause it's reaching EOF.All diagnostic software is adopting the ASAM MCD Standard.Star Diag has now adopted this from 5.2012.The diagnostic data is also supplied in ODX format with softing DTS configurator also in F:\Programme\Xentry\bin\Softing\bin.It will be a one interface does all not just programming.

It was released for version 7.2011, a year later and still working.Since it's release it has been discredited by con men, ripped apart and repackaged, members have been told to play the "dll" shuffle, other guides have spawned with key ingredients ripped from guide2h, forums have closed, people might be going to jail and yet the guide has soldiered on for one year.

I use newguide2h taken from this forum + a standard set of fixes from last versions, installation passes without problems and mistakes. what do you mean under "to finish properly" and what the software means "shouldn't know distinction"?

The most important part of the guide still works, otherwise you would be doing the dll shuffle.Guide2h doesn't complete the installation with the newer versions of SD, so people have devised there own methods to complete the installation of das & xentry.The most common one i have seen posted is 2 keys one for 250 (compact2) and one for 252, this is the problem.

On an original C4 tester with compact4 in the reg you get an appid of 250, thats what needs to happen on the pc and it will complete the installation in one go with one key.

reinstallation of xentry did, didn't help.

I'm not sure about jimis but I admit I'm one of those persons who keep installing the new version even if the old one would have been fine. :o Never know how long the 2h guide will live though, or if there will be a new one when needed. So far so good, thanks for that. :top:

The same person that posted that fix at your Abu dhabi hang out asked me what the problem could be and guess what i had told him to do....

The funny thing is, he had installed guide2h and this fix on top, so he had to replace the dll's with the original ones to undo this bullshit fix and re-install das/xentry again.

All of these type of problems that people like petr78rus are having is to do with these types of bullshit fixes.

re-install mate, thats the best option.I'm not going to sit here and provide support for problems caused by fixes like these.i suggest you ask others who have successfully install as to what they did, since guide2h was originally intended for 7.2011 there are some small changes that need to be made

but closed of XENTRY, xentry authorization will be lost

It seem to be that with config das32r2.exe the Das/Wis Link not works!!! Switched to (F:\Programme\DAS\bin ???)
Orginal das32r2.exe switched to WIS Standalone without Problems.

If you state that it works with the intended das32r2.exe in standalone, then post it!

There are people who install their star diagnosis not so perfect as mr. impactops!
The DK member has used an 870 fix 09.2011 from smallville , the sequence was a 13003 error.
Then it may be that you need to fix everything back to straighten
That has nothing to do with a progaganda fix!!!

I have a dell c640 32 bit-.

das and wis startkey center emerges is properly certified.Diagnostic xentry running when the DAS is running and an error message pops up soon.(internal error (3.18) -3.128) where Xentry program is closed by pressing the OK button.However, still run the DAS.Xentry install the APPID 252 while installing and when installation is impossible, I think APPID 250 to install it.Do not know you're not gonna have a problem I do not install the.How you installed, let me know if you would be appreciated.

You are obviously not following the zolookas guide if you were you would not be having to change reg setting to compact2, you would not be having this 3.18 errors generated by other solutions.When i say fresh install i mean fresh install, uninstall all, deleted all traces of folders associated with das/xentry, even delete key files then follow the link i sent you before.

I would like to think i am not helping a chineese seller, who would end up eventually supplying 9.2012 hdd images with every clone SDconnect they sell.

Follow the instructions to the letter and you cant go wrong

This solution of making the Xentry key read only originated from a forum that was full of propaganda and no longer exists, those who tagged along and applied it obviously had the error.It has nothing to do with online access, cause it appeared to work with earlier versions.
If you have used the zolookas guide to complete the installation the key would not be erased and therefore would be no need to make it read only.

This error seems to appear after a setup with mix guides
I made several tests this month and I discover that in a clean installation with new Z guide the key does not erased either and after online access
In some cases and after an update (not clean installation) the key is disappeared and with net access

i believe it started occuring when AppID:252 could no longer complete the installation and people were devising their own methods (inconjuction with the Zolookas guide) to install Xentry.

i will try explain my situation (from one of my PCs)
Installation completed with Zs guide2i updated from 5-2012
and with App253
The PC has net wireless access

1)Xentry started
2)Real diagnosis to a smart car (for example) all goes ok and the diagnosis finished
3)Das closed
4)Xentry closed
5)Now when i tried to reopen Xentry the key was not there (deleted)

After that i save again a xentry key and the same happens from 1 to 5 several times

When the pc is not on net (wireless or wired) all is working great and the key not deleted

That is correct wsc, from my understanding thats how the suggestion to make it read only came about.If you diagnosed a "DAS" vehicle through xentry it would erase the key.

I think something is going wrong in Java.exe
Because when i closed the java.exe from task manager the PC worked again correctly

Just so that we understand each other, fresh install to me means you have removed application(s) from Add/Remove Programs and deleted any associated directories that are not removed ie...c:\userdata....F:\Programme....etc, so that there are no traces of SD on the system.

i would suggest you try a fresh install first

Here goes my story. I tried installing 7/2012 using guide 2i and i got error
"4-startkey cannot be decoded or scheme is not recognized or App id is unknown."

Thinking i'd set the clock incorrectly set it further back and reran the prepare thingie in guide 2i and i loaded up the license mgr and this time i got a different hardware id but still the problem persisted. i then applied a fix which i got from this forum and i got license mgr to accept my key. Problem is if i try to install i get an error saying no valid authorization. if i go back to license mgr i find that the hardware id has reverted to the first one which wont accept the key. if i reapply the fix, the other id appears complete with the saved star key. Is there any way i can get rid of one of the hardware id's.

hi ! before you start frame installer for xentry , just create COMPACT2 near COMPACt4 in the registry, then generate key for ID 250 and put it. Then start the Xentry frame installer. After that, kill COMPACT2 in the registry, and get the key for ID 252. Seems something like that. Cheers.

If he has installed the zolookas guide there is NO NEED to change any reg setting this has been stated a million times, as for the read only, if they do that they will get the other error when they run xentry, again you know all this so why post propaganda?

I have 07/2012 fully installed and working, including online updates without making any file read only..

For once I have to say I agree with what impactops has said above. I followed the said advice and installed it without drama!
