Don't none of you have any of the original exploit games. You need either lego indiana jones (the original adventure) super smash bros brawl or another one that I can't remember the name of, off hand. If you have any of these games use modmii and select to use the game exploit and it will download the relevant files.

Its strange that Letterbomb is down.

There are videos on YouTube that show you softmodding with super smash bros brawl if you search.

Thats interesting if the LetterBomb (http://hackmii.com/2011/08/letterbomb/) site isn't available but it is at the moment.

Thats video doesn't Prepare SD card which is needed for the NAND backup.

How do you mean doesnt prepare the sd card?
I put my sd card in my laptop and ran the program and installed the files straight to my sd card and then put the card in my wii lanched the message tab and went through and installed homebrew channel and installed bootmii as an ios then I backed my wii up through the bootmii option

Preparing the SD isn't putting the LetterBomb files on the SD card.

Yes thats all the video shows only the first 2 processes.

1. Install Homebrew
2. Install BootMii

but is doesn't show you the third process that MUST be done.

3. Prepare SD card - this puts the folder on the SD card so you can do a NAND backup (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f16/4-3-mod-157379/index16.html) straight afterwards.

If you try to [B]Launch BootMii when you exit Homebrew and there is no [bootmii] folder on the SD card it will just lock the Wii.

Thats well strange because i loaded bootmii straight from the homebrew channel and done a nand backup to sd

Also how i have always installed bootmii is when you finished installing the homebrew channel and then go to install bootmii as an ios option thats how bootmii installs for me, i think i know what file your on about - hackmii installer file but this software i used for the softmodding preperation of my wii mounted it on to my sd card automatically because i have access to the bootmii option eitherway im glad the sites up and running on a temp server and i hope everyone can enjoy it.

Thats ok as you must have done the 3 processes. I really think they need more help text on what each process does. When I softmodded my Wii a long time ago I saw Prepare SD card and I thought it was going to format it or delete everything so I left that until I found out what it did. I ran Homebrew installer again and Prepared the SD card so I could do a NAND backup. That was before I installed anything else.

Yes after you have installed Homebrew Channel it runs Homebrew but because there are no apps in the apps folder you only see the bubbles.

I hope you've saved the [bootmii] folder and keys.bin and nand.bin somewhere safe as SC cards can get scrubbed/formatted for camera's? or go faulty?

While you are on the subject of nand, don't forget you are not limited to one backup. I always make a new nand backup before any major changes, for example going from d2x v7 to v8 just incase anything goes wrong. That way you don't have start from scratch with your original nand backup after brick recovery or just to get back to a known working setup. Bit like system restore on pc.
