I seem to be having trouble coding in ford transit pumps :(

I use IDS clone and after the 'used' pump is fitted, goto body-pats-module sync, selected just Fuel pump, waited, success, then module initialisation failed.

Done again, but done new Fuel pump & PCM, outcome still the same.

Got lots of fault codes relating to no pcm coded to pats, wrong/no transponder key etc.

Plugged old pump in, done the same and all went through fine.

Any one know what the problem may be, wrong pump or faulty pump?

This is the 4th one on the trot that has failed:(

ANy info on this, anyone successfully coded in used pump?

Pump VP44?
Simply twist the starter 30 seconds to sync.

Pump VP44?
Simply twist the starter 30 seconds to sync.

this will only work when the pump is already virgin

Yes i have successfully coded used pumps using ids, did one last week on transit, pats, module initialization, fip, coded access, retrieve outcode input in-code, then it should clear rim, then cycle key as prompted then its done. Well something to that effect anyway.
When youve tried to initialize the used pump and it fails have you just tried plugging your old pump back on without initializing it again to see if dash light stops flashing? (just incase its not coding used one back in at all), if the light goes out without syncing the old pump back in id be looking at the vcm or software. Ive only had fuel pump sync fail on a focus tddi, but i used my mates vcm and it worked first time. So it must be a software/hardware issue with mine as ive done connects and transits and its worked on them.
What year is it?
All the ones ive done have been coded pats access

spot on mate thats the correct way...

Please program 2 keys to pats first and then module initialisation. It has to have 2 keys programmed to do initial PCM to pcu match

i cleared and re programmed ori pump, all went ok, but pump ecu is bad.

van is 2002 LDV with coded access.

2 keys programmed, followed above process but after key on/off say module initialisation failed, tried lots of times.

Could this be down to a faulty 'used' pump or is there different pump types and could it be non compatible?

I use this ids for coding tranny keys and ecu's no problems, so dont think ids is problem.

thanks for info guys, ninja

Sorry Ninja, but even though ldv is basically a transit lump etc.. Ive never done a pump on one, maybe the pumps are wrong like you have said.:hmmmm2:

But i have had this problem with transits and focus too, i only go to program the pumps after garages have fitted used ones, they may be faulty or wrong type, as they are a common failure...

Ninja I've been following this thread with interest. Same situation. 2001 Transit 2.4L. Original pump ecu would fail on customer intermittently but not with me. Decided to have a crack at the FIP ecu repair thread. After refitting the ecu, now I have the watchdog fault code with the FIP ecu communication fault which erases until key off/key on cycle. Decided to install new ecu from Bosch. Have same fault codes.

I have all + & - voltages and closed circuits back to PCM for signals and 120 ohms on the C.A.N lines. Can not link Pump and PCM no matter what I try. 60 secs, 20 mins ign cycle. IDS time base security access does not work, Incode outcode refuses to accept any incode that I enter even under key programming. There are 2 keys already programmed.

My IDS is shi#ing me BIG TIME. I have 2 heads both of them are HPM's, tried different vers of software, 3 diff Laptops, it always tells me to turn the fu#king Ign on and then it eventually goes through to FIP programming and then "Incode is incorrect"

I also only have issues only with transits and some Focus's and Ka's.

I have worn the search button out and read every thing I can find on DK and the web. I will try a another PCM tomorrow, but you are not alone in your grief Ninja.

Yeah, could do with some info on why this sh!t is happening.
Ive tried a few other ids set ups on 'problem' jobs and still same result.

Can you please change your heading to ldv instead of Ford, this vehicle is slightly different from a transit.

Can you list faults from PCM and pats?

Fip has to be same number as one taken off. Also these ldv suffered from water ingress to PCM, and seperate pats module, not contained in PCM.

has to be spot on 100% correct pump as there are a few variations , ive had this issue a few times now because pump was wrong type .

Ninja- Borrowed a real IDS headset from Dealership. All fixed, the com issues with these cars and failure to reconise that the ignition is turned on and Testman errors is in these cloned crap head sets.

is this heading better??

if you read the posts above, this is a generic question about ids and fuel pumps, wether it be ford or ldv.

I replaced ecu on ldv and coded in no probs with ids clone, but i did not fit or even get to see numbers on pump.

So, i just expect wrong pump - but there have been other guys after me who have succeded in programming the pumps where i have failed, not sure what kit was used though?

my clone works ok when ori pump is plugged in, i can clear pump, pcm, keys, etc and reprog all and works fine, so dow think me clone isat fault here?

I must be a BIG Dumb Sh#t.
Just had to google ldv.
Thank you for not sending them to Australia.

Ok, I have heard of clones but never used one, only genuine ids on latest software. I'd say that the issue may be either your correct assumption of fip having wrong numbers or maybe ids has faults too which I seem that usually be corrected in next update?

Good job they have stopped making these cloned fords(ldv), lol

Wiring is terrible in ldv also relays up behind dash. I did make my first post based on ford, but now it is reading ldv/ ford so we know what we're talking about.

Cheers
