i found a program that is supposed to be able to downgrade opcom firmware to 1.39 EVEN if it was upgraded to 1.41 or 1.43 or 1.44 or 1.45 by means of 2011 2012 official opcom software

no matter if you started some 2011 2012 official opcom version with interface plugged in computer, which would have upgraded to 1.43 or 1.44 but disabling bootloader

2011 and 2012 official software versions of opcom dont erase pic of interface but disable bootloader

ocflash doesnt work if you started some 2010 version with interface plugged in computer, which erased your interface's pic

howto:

1. connect opcom interface through usb only
2. run ocflash
3. click on "request interface" to check actual version programmed on interface
4. if programmed version is 1.44 or 1.45 click "load firmware" and select fw139.hex from "Firmwarefiles" folder
5. click "change"
6. select "automatic mode" and click "flash"

i drive opel corsa C 1.2 year 2003 and i would like to get the holy grail v1.39 . i bought op-com 2012 v1.45 but the real version is v1.99. I'm trying to downgrade little by little with ocflash, i have succeeded to downgrade v1.59. but v1.59 to v1.45 it doesn't work, this message appears "bootlaoder did not respond...either killed interface, empty pic or new protection". is it FTDI problem ? any suggestion or idea ? should I buy a op-com 2009 v1.45 for downgrading it and get the King of Kings v1.39?

I am new on here and looking to get some help on my OP-com device. I just have purchased a device where the firmware version is V1.70 (able to be upgraded and downgraded) and needing some help as I have flashed to V1.59 but now wish to flash it back to V1.70.
Since at the "Firmwarefiles" folder the higher version is 1.59, how can I get the 1.70 version back on my device ?

Really appreciate for proving me the file ! Now I have been able to flash it back to 1.70 :)
As far as I read over several pages and stuff posted on internet, I read somewhere the latest original version of 1.66 being incompatible and may damage the Chinese clone devices, like mine is. Do you know if this is true ? And if I flash the unit to a version anywhere above of 1.70 ( 1.78 , 1.95 or 1.99 ), does it give any advantadge to me or there is no difference at all ?

Since you were able to update FW back to 1.70 it means that you have a real PIC 18F458. I tested FW 1.39, 1.45, 1.59, 1.60, 1.64, 1.66, 1.70 and unfortunately I did not notice the difference in the operation of fake SW OP COM 082010 nor Vauxcom 2012, 2014 and 2016. Fw does not matter. HW and SW is important. I tested fake Vauxcom 2016 on Insignia 2010 2.0 diesel 163 PS and showed / reset errors, showed engine measured value blocks and something else but I don't remember. (I don't have Opel now)
I also tested HQ Clone. Works well with the latest OP COM 170823C EN (2018) and OP COM 160115a PL. (2016)

Yeah I purchased a clone from the Aliexpress where seller told me firmware was able to be updated / downgraded, and looks like it is in fact a real PIC chipset, otherwise I think it would be unusable after trying to flash firmware.

As far as I read elsewhere, a real OP-COM has an professional version where it provides even more options, and software does not work at all on the standard / HQ clones, right ?

I actually purchased it to connect into my 07 Saab 1.9 TiD 150 PS, where I did install all four injectors from the TTiD model after remapping ECU. Basically I would like to code those injectors (9 digit number) at ECU but I am getting an "EEPROM writing error message", so I believe it is due to ECU does not accept any kind of injectors beyond the original ones. I have tried to do a small simulation and put an 9 digit number from an original injector I found elsewhere at the internet, and was able to write into the ECU using my Op-com clone. I think it is working good but I found several options only exclusive for OPEL's and Saab's are more likely to work with a different equipment like Tech 2 probably ?

That's cool. Tech 2 has more options than ori OP COM. But if I'm well aware, clone works well until 2014. New OPEL cars can only be programmed online. Good luck.

If you have OP Com V5 with a real PIC 18F458 then you can ( On pcb is date xx.xx.2007). But what for? V 1.99 is a Chinese FW that does not matter in the operation of Chinese Op-Com. If necessary, the software changes FW itself. For example, vauxcom 2014 changes FW from 1.39 to 1.45. FW 1.45 is sufficient for Chinese op com interfaces.

Hello, all. Check your pic to be an original one, if you want to downgrade/upgrade. Fw 1.39 doesn't have bootloader, so, if you want to downgrade your pic, is a little rosky. Vauxcom updates your opcom interfave when connecting to a newer car. Is well known that v1.39 os a stable version for corsa c model, so if you want do downgrade, you will have to use opcom software 2009 or 2010, with an original pic inside your interface.

Read the interface description carefully. Read buyers' opinions, view posted photos. If it is FW 1.99 then it is 100% false PIC.
1) "OPCOM NEW" PCB without D5 C22 components - can be real PIC
2) Old Opcom with PCB V5 - if there is no D5, C22 and on the back the date is xx.xx.2007 (not 2013) it can be real.

This PCB looks fine. I think it has a real PIC 18F458 and at 99% you can change the FW. Most often the "Opcom New" and "Opcom.5 2007-12-10" PCBs have a real PIC.
If you don't try to change FW, you won't know 100%.

It's normal for Vauxcom 12xxxxx to want to change the FW from 1.39 to 1.45. If you aborted this operation, you probably "cleared" the PIC. Sometimes if it is a real PIC you can load it with OCFlash. If it fails, an external programmer may help.

Your interface is good quality with Opcom V5 PCB.
Did you let SW Vauxcom 12xxxx finish changing FW to 1.45? If you have not allowed, do it again. Maybe it will help.
I had a similar situation when I wanted to use Opcom 1910xxx Advanced. The software started the FW change but did not complete and cleared the PIC. I couldn't fix it using OCFlash, no FW was visible. I also did not fix it with a programmer. So I bought another one and now I have no problem.


You can find photos of how to connect the programmer to PIC on the Internet. I had an interface with the "Opcom New" PCB.

Your interface is good quality with Opcom V5 PCB.
Did you let SW Vauxcom 12xxxx finish changing FW to 1.45? If you have not allowed, do it again. Maybe it will help.

I don't want to worry you but if the original firmware is 1.99 then 99.0% you have a fake PIC 18F458. If you change FW to other (1.64) you will kill your interface. Unscrew the cable and see if the PCB has elements D5, C22 and the date 2013.6.2.(Fake)

Buddy, firmware 1.70, 1.95, 1.99 is a Chinese trick.
The last real FW is 1.67. If you have an opcom with a fake PIC 18F458 then you will kill it after updating the FW.

After lowering FW to 1.39 you can raise it again with OCFlash. If you don't have FW 1.66 then if you use SW Opcom 170823c your FW will automatically be changed to 1.66. After using Opcom 181022a or 200603a -FW 1.67.

With this FW version its number is not displayed in OCFlash .. If you have Opcom with real PIC 18F458 you can continue flashing.

Hi.
You can forget about it. You killed your Opcom because it has a fake PIC 18F458. (FW 1.99 always fake PIC that can't be reprogrammed)
Buy a second one with a real PIC.

i found a program that is supposed to be able to downgrade opcom firmware to 1.39 EVEN if it was upgraded to 1.41 or 1.43 or 1.44 or 1.45 by means of 2011 2012 official opcom software

no matter if you started some 2011 2012 official opcom version with interface plugged in computer, which would have upgraded to 1.43 or 1.44 but disabling bootloader

2011 and 2012 official software versions of opcom dont erase pic of interface but disable bootloader

ocflash doesnt work if you started some 2010 version with interface plugged in computer, which erased your interface's pic

howto:

1. connect opcom interface through usb only
2. run ocflash
3. click on "request interface" to check actual version programmed on interface
4. if programmed version is 1.44 or 1.45 click "load firmware" and select fw139.hex from "Firmwarefiles" folder
5. click "change"
6. select "automatic mode" and click "flash"

If your Opcom has FW 1.99 and a fake PIC18F458, then by changing FW using OCFlash you most likely "killed" it. Therefore you cannot connect to any module in the car.
