From what I know if you buy an interface from china you'll not be able to use it 100 %
Because the chinese tools aren't flashed
And you need to flash it before useing it with the Diagbox v7.04
Yes as Mr. angelvoodo said to buy a tool from china can be a lottery now and I suppose that you must have a good supplier there.

Mate as Mr. Scary said you need to flash the tool if you wnat to be able to use the Diagbox.
Even the Chinese sell the tools with Mr. Scary's softwears and patch the tool it is not compatible with that softwear and firmwear
With other words the serial of Chinese clones is blacklisted in the Diagbox versions above 5.29
And even you don't update the firmwear the new softwear versions need the upgraded firmwear and your tool will not work well

Did you tried to use the PSA interface Checked made by Mr. Scary?
To downgrade the firmwear and then reinstall the Diagbox 5.29 or old platformes Lexia and PP2000
Maybe it is not "dead"
Maybe just blocked

i have 2 original interfaces among others and i had problems with them( they are the old ones with the usb b male connexion)
the one had a problem with the usb port( the cable could not attach in the port) and i had a message that the device could not be recognized.
and the other had 2 wires cut in the cable between obd plug and the round 30 pin plug.
check those and if you have cut wires i can make a diagram if you like, cause all cables are white

I just made first test.
On another partition I installed Windows 7 32bit.
I used the same settings as for XP.
-all drivers installed
-no internet connection
-language settings = Croatian
-install Diagbox 7.02 from ISO file using PowerISO

Result:
-activation OK
-installation Lexia and PP OK
-test on car (C5 restyling) OK

Currently doing fresh installation of XP with LAN drivers only.
I will inform you about success (or failure) of this mission.

All my attempts to install Diagbox 7.02 on Windows XP have failed.
I have tried:
-with internet connection
-without internet connection
-with all drivers installed
-with only LAN driver installed and internet connection
-installation from ISO file
-installation from DVD
-3 different versions of Windows XP professional
-playing with bios settings (virtualization settings on-off)
-and various combinations

Always getting this message: failure of the activation (error 0). On same laptop with Windows 7 installation goes without any error.
Laptop is Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E325.
The only solution for now is a dual boot XP-7.

You just need to burn the iso on a dvd and install from it or use daemon tools and mount the iso in a virtual dvd and install from it. Unpacking the iso to a directory and install from there does not work and give that lexia problem.

I installed diagbox in WinXP SP3, without an internet connection, exactly by video and everything went fine. Then update 04, 06. It works perfectly.

You need the ethernet interface to be active (not hardware disabled) but just rj45 cable disconnected, then activation will go fine. It must be the ethernet one, wifi does not matter.

If you disable the interface (red cross on device manager) then you cannot activate because cannot get mac address from the ethernet card, and that is needed data for the activation process to generate computer ID.

Just that.

I installed it all over again.

For me it was the AVG scanner that trowed some files in quarantaine.
all "infected" files listed in to the exceptionlist and I've now got 7.07 working.

Hope it keeps the activation for a longer time now

Hi guys!
The DiagBox seems to be working fine with my interface, but if I choose to run the PP2000 instead (from the DiagBox menu) the error screen appears saying that the PP2000 can not run because either the interface is not connected to the USB or it's been used by another application.
I assume it is because the interface is flashed with a DiagBox compatible firmware, and in order to run the PP2000 I need to downgrade the interface firmware.
Would that be correct, or there might be some other problem causing the PP2000 not to run?

I don't know what kind of tools they sell mate. But what I can tell you is that the PSA XS Evolution tool from China it isn't flashed.
Even they sell it and it "works" with DiagBox version 6.xx
Because their softwear have a blocked firmwear upgrade
If you cannot upgrade the firmwear you can do everything with the softwear
If you upgrade the firmwear that will not works well because the tool it has a blacklisted serial in the new firmwears
So think about this. But you can buy a good tool from China and if you want to be able to use it with newer version of Diagox after v5.29 you need to flash it
But about this we dicussed many times

mate firmwear it is installed by the softwear.
If you do not have a flashed PSA XS Evolution tool then you have to try it
If it is working you are a happy guy, if it dosen't then you are a unluky one
But even it dosen't works the you have to use OSA Cheker to go back to the firmwear that it is working for you.
As Mr. Scary said if you haven't a flashed tool then you cannot use Diagbox after version 5.29.
Only Chinese cracked softwear but this one are fakes. And it creat to you an ilusion that everythings got to be allright but you have to know that it isn't.

My dear scary, please please help me.
I use windows 7 ultimate system on my pc. I did all the updates perfectly to V7.27. But after upgrading to v7.27 Chinese clone my interface has stopped communicating with the car.
After many attempts I decided to uninstall the software DIAGBOX.
I used Revo uninstaller to uninstall. After that I restarted my pc and installed DIAGBOX V7.02.
So I upgrade to V7.06 and now the software is just asking ACTIVATION. with this sentence:
(you must enable applications to be able to use them at that time, will carry the activation of the equipment).
Scarymistake, please help me.
Or someone here from the DK has been there. already uninstalled and installed over 10 times and nothing.

keep the firewall and anti virus off until install complete then turn back on should be 3 file that appear on av add them to exceptions

after you install the DB 7.01 and then you upgrade it to 7.02 and then you reboot it you have to back up the APPDIAG.sys file

I have a very strange problem with diagbox - it has done the same thing with all version (running 7.30now) and several different cabels.
Whenever I try connecting to some newer cars, like Peugeot 5008 and connect to BSI it asks to check the BSI parking shunt by turning on and off the ignition.
I turn the ignition on/off, press validate, but the diagbox application simply doesn't proceed forward. I do see the button click if I press it, but it just stays in the same screen. Return key also doesn't work.

The same problem occurs when the software asks to enter a after sales repair entry with mileage - it gets stuck in one screen.
Any suggestions?

Hello Frends,

recently my diagbox stopped working, I was at version 7.26, running on XP SP3 as virtual machine on a Mac host.

Suddenly I got this error screen. I do not remember exactly of having recently new programs installed or cracked.

Well so I unistalled Diagbox, got rid of all registers (at list all I coud search/find) and reinstalled diagbox from 7.02 version.

It worked, them I started to upgrad up to version 7.35, last one until now and got the same screen but with a new message from Mr. Scary.

Now I'll do a fresh install on a fresh XP (new virtual machine).

I have a problem with installing Diagbox v7.
The install extracts everything and tries to run diagbox, but all it gets is a small diagbox windows and nothing happens.
If I close it and open it again - it is still only that small window. Can anyone give any tips how to fix this?
Already tried that on two fresh installs of windows 7 32bit - got the same result twice...

This APPDIAG.sys back up is about the licensing, not the communication, right?

Activation asked me now I give to cancel and did not open.

1) Use Cleaner DiagBox, then clean files from previous installations failed the DiagBox
2) Run CCleaner to clean registry
3) Go to: Windows Start / run then type "regedit" and check if you see some log files named "Diagbox" or "actia" folders HKEY_CURRENT_USER HKEY_LOCAL machines and users, then delete manualy
4) Check if the drivers are properly installed, the wi-fi card in the PC-Laptop
5) Check if the installed driver LAN card right
6) Turn on wi-fi, connect the network card to connect to the ineternet DiagBox ALL times during installation

you need to build a programmer, really not worth the hassle when you can get a new interface with no missing chips and new firmware for around 50 quid delivered from china
