l
ooking at the photos bet it was a pig to get to bits.
looking at that then gues the blown fet is on the back side of that 'spiky' heatsink.

Hello, I am trying to solve this problem, I have the C1414 fault code. Changing the micropocessor worked? or do we have to change the transistors?Greetings.

C1414 is a problem of driver brushless motor.
you have to reball driver that are vs pink square in the dissipator side

I also work in electronics. Could you help me to repair it please? I do not realize that part of the plate was burned. Check all the components and do not find anything. If you could give me a help I would appreciate it.

Hello fra69,
Did you disassemble all boards into the module (communication / interconnection / power) or only the top board (communication) ?
I have also a failing power steering on my 207 with P0606 fault.
I would like to find the root cause and give the info to the community
It seems that this module has a hidden defect that has never been corrected by the manufacturer. I suspect that issue is coming from power board (under the interconnection board) because we can observe a burned area around the big inductor at the entrance of the +12V. I'll post picture later ...

hi only remove comunication board on photo.
i rework all solder connection mcu included.
"burned area" it's normal because it's near a connection thet are soldering by high voltage

Thank you for your reply.
I'll rework the communication board as you preconize.
I disassembled the other boards (translation board and power board). It's very difficult to disassemble them because they are soldered by spot welding.
Nothing seems wrong at this stage...

Hi all,
Come back with good news.
I reworked the communication board by resoldering all components to be sure that I didn't miss something.
Reassembled all boards in the electric steering, and put it in the car.
I cleared the P0606 error code.
My electric steering is working like a charm since more than 1 month !
Like third party companies are able to repair the electric steering within 24 to 48h, I'm now pretty sure that they don't dissamble all boards. I suspect that every time, it's due to an electric problem on communication board that is pretty easy to remove... (board on top).
From my point of view, the problem is coming from a bad soldering process on the TLE7188F (3 phases bridge driver). I observed that solderings on pins were not correctly flowed with pin and crack was probably formed with time (heat, vibrations, ...).
After reworking, these solders were well hooked to pins.
I put pictures for comparison and also the potential root cause.
Good luck if you decide to rework this electric steering :very_drunk:

Thanks again to Fra69 for his inputs.
And no thank you to Peugeot that has never seriously considered this problem and waited for customers to have a problem before changing one by one the EPS!

I confirm, just re-solder the TLE7188F (3-Phase Bridge Driver IC). Its legs de-weld due to the high heating of the Choke inductor next to it.
Eu confirmo, basta soldar novamente o TLE7188F (3-Phase Bridge Driver IC). Suas pernas são des-soldadas devido ao alto aquecimento do indutor Choke próximo a ele.
