Here is how to Repair Vw ABS units when you don`t get any comunications (it`s totaly dead)
http://www.lbak.dk/Audi/Repair_ABS_unit_passat.pdf

When you do this repair use microscop and small tools so you don`t brake any "angel hair" as is made of thin thin gold.

Volvo S70/V70 1997-2000 ABS unit
This is a 9496946 ATE unit and has common faults as no connection or left abs sensor bad.
Open plastic cover with a Dremel mini grinder and resolder connection points on pcb.
With microscope you can see very bad broken solder points :)

Hi. What tool did you use to take ot the sensor?
I had one unit with same problem, i have sent it to BBA-Reman, after the repair i have opened the unit to see what`s changed.
The surprise was ,that the old sensor was still there ( i have made a mark on it), the ECU was not open, so my question is : What did they do?
The unit works again and no Brake pressure Error.

This sensor is a hell to take a way, use small toll to put under sensor and then change to bigger tool when sensor is coming up a bit.

BUT please put pictures on your fix'd abs unit up here.

Hi.
Pictures i have none, i had to mount the unit back to the car quick because the owner needed the car.
I don't think they have cleaned something. The DTC was C0131 pressure sensor circuit, something electrical....who knows.
I will buy one second hand unit and i will try to take out and disassemble the sensor and dig more...

Searching the internet i found this.... http://www.lpkf.com/newsletter/lds/925/929/291.htm

The sensor looks pretty much like the one in the MK60 unit.

If someone has a new or working abs unit in stock please mesure ohm on connections so we can compare to my broken.

It's a hell to disamble the sensor and not distroy it....

How do the fix the sensor by not removing it... ??? Hm...

I have some broken abs units at my place now and find out that ohm is diffrent on every one....

And it is Inpossible to take sensor out from alu.block with out making scratchs and marks on sensor and alu.block.
It is fitted hard! In alu.block!!!!

Only way that they can repair this units is by flushing sensor cannels!

So we need to build a test bench so we can know "when" sensor is working again.

We have 6 connections on alu.block.

The sensor has one opening to get fluid in to it, and in that opening you find a hole in the wall 90degres

hi what solution are you using in ultrasonic cleaner to clean the abs pump been looking for a while but cant find a solution also is there any for cleaning the gel of the ecu side

soxten
9th November, 2014, 10:31 AM
New update :)
The metal tube inside the hole is NOT moving!
I have cut it up and the tube is a bart of the constructions.
So I did not find any broken lines, parts in the sensor.
I think the problem is the gel as is in the bottom of the hole as keeping the presure to be korrekt to the sensor-wall.

PLEASE if some one can find what opening in the alu.block as going to the sensor, then we can maka a small tube/line and try to clean out the gel and see if it works.

AND do we have some clever guy as can look at the wireing to abs unit, then we can connect it to OBD and try to find a way to fix this.

AC TRONIC repair MK60 with this solution :

ABS ECU BMW 1 Series AND 3 Series ATE MK 60 Hydraulic Rebuild 2 Years Warranty | eBay (http://www.ebay.fr/itm/ABS-ECU-BMW-1-Series-and-3-Series-ATE-MK-60-Hydraulic-Rebuild-2-Years-Warranty-/291281050583?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43d1b41bd7)

The ABS hydraulic unit breaks down due to a failure of the internal brake pressure sensor. Many of our competitors will resolve this problem by assembling a pressure sensor on the outside of the unit. However, at ACtronics, we have developed a quality repair solution for the faulty, internal sensor, using our most advanced machinery.

I think just one solution : REMPLACE SENSOR

Solution is remove gel with tweezers and solder new wires.

soxten

Use microscope, remove gel over connectors by a pincet or small tool, only remove over the broken alu.wire!
I always take away alu.wire from connector plate on pcb and unit.
Use a small knife and "scrach" on connector plates and then put some solder material on the plate.
Use 260-300 degres on solderstation.
Use normal coper wire to replace alu.wire.

Any one as having info about Brake Pressure Sensor (G201)?

where to buy new sensors?
Is it only BOSCH OEM as having this part "new"?

I still think that this problem is "dirt" from brakefluide as making the sensor broken.
Even with ultrasonic cleaning you don`t get it inside the "channel" and upp to the bottom of the sensor.

If someone has a way to connect this sensor to test it then I could make this test here on my bench.
I have 1 broken and 1 working ABS unit here now.

We are bright and clever people here on DK, but still we have problem to solve G201-brake pressure sensor fault....
Ford/Volvo/Mazda use the same alu.block as call`d "2050"
Here as a selling advertice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-MAZDA-VOLVO-BLOCK-2050-ESP-ABS-PUMP-MODULATOR-ECU-10-0206-0226-4-/400291561666

BBA Reman fix this sensor problem and sell on ebay.

"BBA-reman has been successfully repairing a huge range of ABS for many years and our happy to announce we are now offering exchange ATE MK60 valve blocks for pressure sensor repairs via eBay.Common faults include but are not limited to:

Traction control light on (ESP)
ABS light on
Pressure sensor fault codes (e.g. 5E20 / G201) .

This listing is for an exchange modulator block 2050 only. You will have to use your motor and ECU.The warranty will only apply to the modulator block supplied.
This block actually fits a wide range of units, please check the 4 digit number on your modulator unit and make sure it is 2050. If it isn't please check out our other listings or contact us with the details of the 4 digits from the unit you requirer.
Most new ABS units requirer additional costs by needing programming. Since you are not changing the ECU, you will not need to recode it to the vehicle.
This unit is always in stock available for same working day dispatch if your order is received by 1600 GMT with cleared payment.
This item is sold as a Exchange replacement. So to make life a little easier for you included in the listing cost is return carriage enabling you to return your old unit trouble free."

Do any here on DK have a clue how to fix this sensor problem?

Hi to all.
I have problem with Peugeot 307.ABS light is on.Dash and motor ECU can't see speed sensor(speedo and mileage don't work, car don't have speed sensor, info for speed is from ABS) and ABS module. In BSI no errors.I can connect with ABS module and it has error "ABS module faulty". I open ABS module and there no broken wires(check with tweezers and microscope). ABS module is BOSCH 5.3(0273004562). I think its common problem for Peugeot.
Did someone have decision for the problem?

i think m8 be wrong thinking.

a Lot of companys which Repair the Units dont change it.

i think they have the old soft from Elsa to fix the Problem. VW Do a shop linke a ....

they prog a value and Shut Up the Sensor in the soft. This Sensor You Need only for comfort in ESP. A Long Time this soft was in Elsa but After ( Garanty ) Time it was not there.

i will Look for a car with Strage Value in the soft.

No, you buy a new alu.block inc the sensor and change.
No change in soft in abs controll unit.

I see that some workshop rebuild the sensor and place it outside abs unit by wire.

I say that black pcb on pressure sensor is bad one and if to send it for repair/change you get a green pcb sensor.

The green sensor is build in a diffrent way compare to the black pcb sensor

Hello
YOu only need 0990-9377.1D, that is Correct part, no need to consider mask. I it Power driver and CAN communication Combination IC. Not Programmed IC. Buy it and replace! then using OSciloscop to Mearsure CAN signal, if avaliable, mean that Your ABS computer work well!

Do not need program or do anything else as Program. Just try to do AIR blessing!

Hi, Where is the VIN stored inside the ATE ABS module on a BMW E46 part number 6759075? Would it be stored inside the ST circuit 95042U3? or inside the big ICs/MCU?
I wanted to buy a used module, but will get stuck with the VIN difference. Is there a way to clone it or to transfeer the chip containing the VIN data from the damaged unit into a working unit, and which chip stored this VIN data?

Hello,
I have a 2005 Peugeot 206 XT and I get code C1380. It goes on and off. When its cold in the morning I drive with no ABS code. After sometime (20-30 minutes) light goes on. If I leave it to cool down happens the same thing (light goes off by itself after driving few meters). I get C1380 recirculation pump related failure. I tried to clean with WD40 the connector but fail is the same. Does anybody has any experience regarding this kind of failure? Do I need to change the unit?

So the Teves MK60 internal sensors supply is 5V and pressure signal is 0-5V. Just like in Bosch normal brake pressure sensors.

I think the experts are not sharing because they want to protect their business.

It looks like the steel tube is stuck with the black plastic. (I'm looking at the picture you posted in 2014. long time!)
Plastic should start to melt around 200-250 degrees. Can you try to heat up the steel with either flame or hot air?

Hi mate,
I Did many units like this with bonding machine. It is the best and quality repair If you rebond the wire with a machine. But the main problem with this repair is Cleaning the substrate. You need to clean the hole ecu in a ultrasone cleaner, and unsure that to repairing place is very clean!!!
Than the job wil be 100% perfect.
A little advice. Bal wire bonding is much Bether than wedge bonding.[emoji6]

Hi mate,
I Did many units like this with bonding machine.

Hello:

Which bonding machine do you have for this job ?

The problem with the MK60 pressure sensor is that the thiny alu wires which connect the sensor to the flex are broken. You'll need to replace them with a bonding machine. I have checked both ACTronics and BBA Reman refurbished hidraulycal units and they just replace those wires. But the equippment they use for such a job is very expensive. Regarding the pressure sensor what I see on refurbished units they never take apart from the alu block. It is opened buy cutting the tube at the bottom of the sensor.
I am also working to find out a solution how to open and fix them.

Here is info to ALL how to take away metall cover on Pressure sensor.
After you done this all 4 wire is lose on upper pcb under the gel.

If you solder it back on pcb you get problem after!
It is not working 100%

If some one find a way to solder it back, PLEASE SHARE!

First remove label on pressure sensor!

I put my tool in sideway to sideway in small movements, left to right and here the "click"
Then take tool away!

Take a small screwdriver and push black connector THEN lift steel tube up!
Importen! Push black connector down then lift steel tube!!!!!

Then open up the sensor by lift 2 small steel plate on side.

Next way is to find a safe way to repair it.

Normaly use wirebonding after cleaning gel out.

Please push tanks if it help you :)

If tou try to take it away you destroy the hole in alu.block.

Hi all. I got a MK60 unit that hade the eccentric "drive bearing" rusted badly until complete blockage which also have caused the pistons to get stuck due due to corrosion.
After cleaning the rust away with a rotating steel brush, rinsing and lubing the bearing and coating the rusted parts and sloppy silicone gasket with marine grease, the motor is running fine, And no fault codes. BUT ESP/TCS is not working. Which is surprising when potentially importan safety system is not functioning at all.

Is there and chanse to free up the two pump pistons. Replace the seals and clean the opposite surface in the aluminium block so it will last worth doing a reconditioning job?

Or is buying a new or reconditioned unit the only safe option?

Cheers Gunnar
