Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer

hi my friends, how are you?


Yesterday i tried to turn on my a4 b6, but the immo has blocked it after 2 o 3 seconds.


a little of history, in 2012 the water has suck my motor, so , after 18 months, the motor works again.


Well, i get some errors in engine and instruments modules

Engine Module:

18056 - PowerTrain Data Bus
P1648 - 004 - Failure

17978 - Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer
P1570 - 008 -


Instruments Module:

01314 - Engine Control Module
49 - 00 - No communications.

When the car Start in dashboard i can see:

abs light on
esp light on

rpm, km doesnt work

check fuses friend, wiring and gateway module

Dash and ECU are not connected.You need to check K-Line,I think that there is your problem.Get wiring data for your car and start from there.

Thanks, OK this night i'll try to check fuses, battery voltage, ground, and another wires.

i need resolve this issue fast to go to home, if i can disable immo from dashboard bin, the car would start engine ok?.

From my last experiment remove ecu plug from car, for few min replace and try again.

From what I see you have a problem with the engine ecu. it may be that it lacks 12V power feed or maybe lacks ground. well check fuses and wiring first. so long without work may be that the rat ate the wires

Yesterday i made a dashboard test with vag and the IMMO LIGHT / CHECK ENGINE never turn on... others light turn on OK. (thats normal?) i dont remember if anytime i saw immo light turn on in this car :/



we tried with another 1.8T ecu and car start ok, dashboard rpm ok, km ok, temp ok, tank ok, fis ok.

You mentioned that also when you start the car ABS and ESP light remain on?They are on the same line as ECU.I will post you wiring diagram.I just checked Check Engine and Immo light are coded in that car to turn on via CANBus,so they will turn on display if there are any faults.

In attachment is picture of wiring.You need to check for continuity pin 12 and 13 of dashboard(Orange brown and Orange black wires) to pin 58 and 60 of the ECU,the problem is there,Immo can't communicate with ECM.

Just follow diagram I sent you,you will resolve the problem.Also when you do immo off in that ECU you will not have diag access,if it is Simos ECU.That is normal.

The problems in Central Electrics are because the car doesnt have headlights connected.


well, i saw that, after flashing 95040, the car start but, dashboard doesnt work OK.

Rpm = 0
Tank level: 0
Temp: 0

FIS shows OIL PRESSURE, but the oil pressure is OK.

i checked pin 58 y 60 and pin 12 y 13 of blue and green dashboard connector.

only with green connector i had continuity on ecu pin 60 and pin 13 of dashboad, i get 956 value on multimeter.

i drive the car, speedmeter work OK, rpm doesnt work.
oil pressure warning when the speed < 20 km or 10/15 min started engine.

fuel level and temp seem to work ok.


any ideas?

Are there faults for key signal being weak in instrument cluster?? The immo is in the cluster. If you have any codes like that replace the reader coil, very very common problem. The reader coil is a slave so no coding required. If audi sells you one with a new ignition lock then just order a non coded lock as it is much cheaper. You do not have to replace the lock simply clamp the new one in a vice and gently leaver the new reader coil off
