Golf 5 2006 visteon dash, how to clone?

Have a broken visteon dash on Golf V 2006 with 1K0920862A and need to clone.

Is it only to swap Eeprom 95160?

And if any body know if 1K0920862A can be replaced by 1K0920862J?

And if some ome has pinout so I can try to read it by fvdi.

So I don't think I can swap dash with diffrent number.

Just read Pin form both Dash , write original eeprom back to New cluster, and use Ross-Tech Immo 4 cluster swap.
Visteon dash still works with VCDS.

It`s not possible to clone this dash by only clone Eeprom 95160.
You get error on KM is see directly by connecting on bench.

SVDI,FVDI can read Eeprom but it dont give you pin/mac/CS
and if you try to write to used dash you get same fault as up here = km error.

I think Eeprom 95160 and TMS 980 as to be clone.

Some one as know this?

and you even see file from "original" reding by FVDI.

I think this "Viston" dash only has some type of CS (not PIN/MAC)

OR is Xor decryption in MCU so if you clone both it work.

Read Micronas dash with FVDI, change info , put CS, MAC, Pin form ECU,

Fvdi/svdi can only read Eeprom, not MCU.

USED dash VDO dash is called micronas dash.
So read that dash and do what I wrote you in Post #18.

FORGOT abut original Visteon dash.

To clone this dash,you need to solder to SAME used dash both TMS470 and 95160/95320.TMS470 holds the decryption data,or you can post 95160 here,and I will try to decrypt,if I have that dash type.
I will you every info,or you post both dumps,so I can adjust them.

What do you expect? Most of the chipsets used in the automotive world are specific for the customer.
They get high volumes, so these are often custom made and have own marking.

You will never get any datasheets for it. All of the information are released under a NDA.

That MCU is locked,and Segger won't bypass security.It is best to upload 95160,so we can decrypt it.

If you had uploaded both visteon dumps from the beginning, somebody already send you a dump where the immo data is copied.

Replacement cluster is VDO with Micronas MCU.
Two different MCU , two different Eeprom , NOT POSSIBLE.

I try to learn how to exactly clone this dash.
I have 25-50pc of this dash every year at my scrapyard.
100% of the time I get broken dash by post to me and I need to clone customers info TO my USED dash and then send it back to him.
If I clone MCU and Eeprom on the same partnumber I hope all will work.

I know it looks f*cking strange when I write here but I work a bit diffrent then many of you people.

1: in this dash "Viseton" do it store Pin/MAC/CS in Eeprom?
2: do someone know where in flash crypto is stored?

But I like to do clone and it may be the hard way by J-link :)
I have now a good pinout so it dont take so many min to read mcu.

A tip: Don't work with elektronics when a thunder storm passes you'r house!....

If you want to clone cluster you can clone it form ECU as well.You need to clone Immo data and Km. That is all matter, All other is same .
The thing is when you do this best way is to have , Dash, Keys and cluster. That is call 100% clone job.
Other thing is if you want to clone Visteo to Visteon, then spend 120 euros and you will have software for that.
But if you replacing Visteon to VDO with Micronas you need to do the way I explain before.

I believe he is not trying to clone it into the VDO.

Get the codecard SW. Open both Visteon dumps and transfer the data. Job done.
5 minutes job, instead of several days.

If you already have jtag tool, use it and clone mcu.

Easy way is codecard version by Eeprom.

I'm trying to adapt one of these Visteon Dashes to a Golf V . I found both PIN CODES ORG AND USED,,,,, i try Ross-tech Cluster SWAP it accepts the used dash code but it won't connect to CHANNEL 50 !!

Any ideas on how to program it?

If i program ORG 95320 EPROM to used cluster car starts!! But it shows error on KM.

Yes the MAC and Powerclass are stored in its eeprom, although no public tool can decode it.
This data is simply and always needed to authenticate the engine ecu so it will run.

I can now extract and insert full immo data with Visteon clusters.

If shorted, no clone possible because mcu do not answet. Find the burnt components on power line. Maybe mcu is not dead, but only a power issue

thanks for the answer. The MCU is shorted. All the shorts on the board disappeared when I removed the MCU. those two pins on the MCU are shorted, tested outside board.

Are there any way to get a working cluster for this car. I read from the previous posts that the necessary information for cloning could be retrieved from the ECU

That's strange. I read the eeprom outside the board (and IPA bath) with three different tools and I always get the same .bin.
I don't think the dump is corrupt. Unless the EEPROM is broken.

To transfer immo data to VDO cluster you need to do it by OBD using suitable tool.
You cannot do it by eeprom only.

You cannot use VCDS method, that is only for very old clusters.

You need to read the immo block of your VDO cluster and post it here.
I can insert your immo data into that immo block, and you can write it back to the VDO cluster.

Mileage is set to 0km so you can set it yourself using VCDS or similar.

Adaptating using channel 50 hardly never works, only for very very old cluster.

Just post your VDO Immo file here and I will insert it into the Visteon eeprom.

Can you please help me?

Yesterday I tried to replace an instrument panel 1K0920853Q, VISTEON, in a VW Golf Mk5, from 7/2007 because it did not warn when the lights were on and the ignition was off, nor did it give an audible signal from the turn signals. Replaced it with a similar instrument panel and used the Original Carprog to read the eeprom, but with the Carprog I was unable to read the IMMO data, (MAC, CS, PIN, KM).
The problem is that I read the eeprom as if it were a 95320 and wrote the original eeprom on the used panel. Everything works but I have the ERROR message where the kms should appear.
I read the eeprom of the original panel again, choosing type 95160 and write it to the used panel, but the ERROR remains. Now I don't have the used panel eeprom and I don't know what to do. The original dashboard showed 144333 kms.

I have a broken Visteon dash (1K0920862A, 2006) and want to swap it with a used VDO dash (1K0920872J, also 2006).
The Visteon has a ST95160W, but the VDO has a 24LC32A.

Is anyone of you able to help me swapping the dash and revive the car? Maybe also with some instructions, because I never really worked with ODIS. :/

Tools available: HEX-V2 + VCDS, 6154A + ODIS (S and E), CH341A.
Attached both BIN files and the data I already have (Login PIN, CS etc.)

You cannot insert this into the VDO eeprom, because there the immo data is encrypted.
You must read immo block by OBD, there insert immo into that, then write modified immo block back by OBD.
A proper cluster tool is needed for this procedure, none what you have listed above are suitable.

Hey evgeny! Yeah, true... This is why I don't list this crappy K+CAN tool any more. But I thought that CH341A is good enough for this job.

Thanks to H2Deetoo, I now understood how EEPROM + Immo + encryption of Data works.
Let's see if I can organise something like VVDI, FVDI, ...

First of all, thanks for the info in the post. I have the same problem, my dashboards are identical 1k0920863A sw 8212 hw 007. The fault was the LED light on the central dashboard, I changed 95160 from the bad to the good, it starts and the same error in km. I'll change the 2 memories, thanks in advance.....180356 KM

FYI I can now extract full immo from any Visteon cluster (so including MAC and PC).
I can also insert this immo in another Visteon cluster, so a Visteon to Visteon clone is possible.

I have a 2K0 920 944C KOMBIINSTRUMENT VDD 1222 V0002000 VWX7Z and would like to upgrade to a full fis/screen visteon cluster.
Been looking about at software costs for Carprog, VVID2, Smok to do it myself or maybe paying for it to be done.

I can pull the eeporm data using a ch341a but iv not decided on a type/model of cluster yet. Red/Black/Colour/3D.

Could you recommend a budget tool that would grab the immo data?

I also have the option of dumping my ECU eeprom if that would help without a tool.

I don't have experience with commercial tools to be honest, I suggest you ask it on this forum because here are more experienced users who might be able to help more.

My carprog 5.31 reworked it original A1 adapter is working!

VDO (VDD) clusters have immo encrypted inside eeprom, so only way to read/write immo is by OBD using suitable tool.
Eeprom only is not enough for VDO clusters.

Thank you for quick response. I was trying with 5.31 version but unfortunately its not working either. Its connecting to cluster, rebooting it but after 4-5time "switch off/on" I get the message no response from unit.
I have clone 13.77 version, with good looking pcb board, no rework needed. Its possible to read/write eeprom via A6 adapter.
Would it be possible that I have bad 5.31 version or that 5.31 its working only with 8.21 firmware ?
