I have experience, but would like a lead in, I'm more used to C and C++, so pascal and basic are presenting a little bit of a wall as far as getting the hang of the grammar goes,

E.g. a upa project that reads in a byte from locations 0x05, times it by 2, displays it in a box, and then writes it back in pascal, that would help me immensely to understand it,

Therein lies the problem for 99% of people on here.

If you're a programmer, you should be able to figure out the algos and scripting construction. You'll do okay then.

However, for most other people here, who wouldn't know one end of a Hex Dump from another, never mind trying to figure out the algo, this is simply not going to happen.

I personally think that if you're kinda clued in,and study hex files a lot, you'll figure out nearly all of the algos used by makers.Of course there are some,eg,Vag,that you do need some help from a box.

Then you don't need to use scripts,as you have the data in front of you anyway !!

Just my personal opinion....

Come on, don't be lazy. It takes me on average less than 1 minute to change most files,2 or 3 mins with the longer ones, with a hex editor.

You can only edit 1x at a time anyway.

Better to get the brain cells firing.
