Replace immo3 with immo4 instrument in Audi A4 B7 2005

I have a 2005 A4 B7, that have RB8 and immo3. I have a RS4 instrument but it is a few months newer, so immo 4.

Does anyone know how to convert the immo4 instrument to immo3? I know it can be done, but dont know how.

You read Immo block and modified , then after that you need to put new transponder in key and adopt keys.

Interesting. Have two cars with same problem. Both early B7 with RB8 and immo3.
Tried editing a little last year, but difficult when I dont know exactly.

You can not edit eeprom. I am not 100 % sure but I think this is waht you need to do ( I have SMOK X-Dash )
With AVDI you go to Immobilizer Data Configuration.
In this section it will be read Immo block. once you read it you can modified, by editing VIN, Immo id , Pin and CS .

I have no such option. I can read keys data and full eprom. Get a message that component protection is 12 bytes in the immo 4 cluster and 7 in the others

OK first you need to add VIN in rb8 eeprom with Hex editor and write eeprom back rb8 cluster, Do not worry , there is no checksum in VIN line.

NOW,
You see that RESET CS.
Click on that you will see CS in it.

Read Eeprom form ECU and post here , I will give you CS form ECU.
All you need to do write CS form ECU in RB8 cluster and after that adopt keys with new transponder.

Key will not work form old car because RB 8 has 12 byte and rb4 has 7 Byte key data as AVDI mention this .

Have the ECU file from one of the cars. Its EDC15P+ (B6 03 that I built completly to B7 2006, but kept the engine and ecu from the B6 2003)

Its actually RB8 in both cars. are using a RB4 in this one now, but have instrument fault code in light module and ESP. (KW2000 system in B7)
All the cars from 2005 to 05.2005 are a mix with RB8 and immo 3

Tried to press the reset CS button, but got message I need license for key matching.

Well if you can not do reset CS then you can not do this job.That license let you change CS.
Also it can not be any ECU eeprom, it has to be one form car you trying to put cluster in, to be able to read right CS.

Yes, i will check what license I need.
That is the ECU that sits in one of the cars (Have two cars with same issue). For this car I have a Early RB8 Instrument working fully, and a color RB4 that give the faults.
But cant it be possible to use eprom data from the working immo3 RB8 to a immo4 RB8. Same hardware. Have tried to write the full eprom, but that give lots of faults. is it the Checksum that give faults?

On RBx dash you can not write eeprom from one to other bacuse crypt key is different in every dash in Flash.
Only way to do this is as I told be above.

The dash has 12 bytes of CS, and the ECU 7 byte.
