Hi,

Most Diaguns have the same serial number and you do not find the serial number on the unit sticker or the smartbox. Only way to see the serial number is by watching the unit boot and start to load a program. It flashes on the screen for about 3 seconds and you have to read it quickly. Normally this is a clone unit and has a different serial number to the serial number on the smartbox. Yes the smartbox and not the hand held PDA.

That is not a Diagun serial number but a old Launch X-431 with printer serial number. Should start as 980 540 or 980 541

All units come blank from the factory. Check inside the manual poach and you will find the product number inside a envelope. You still need the Dealer Code to register. Once the unit is registered you can download from the net free.

my situation is that i have original uk x431 which is in need of an update and was considering upgrading to the x431 hardware kit which is available from this company.Login - WELCOME TO DIASOFT (http://diasoft.webs.com/) for 320 sterling and includes the new 16E connector.
any thoughts on this,is it worthwhile as they also offer a once off update to latest versions for 245usd.

You will need an update for the serial number from your x431. You can try google to see, if there is something for your serial number. If you post your s/n, maybe it will be blacklisted (if you have genuine).

Anyway, I found a shop repairing these things, whom will sell the original full software update to me for $120! Now that is nice of him. I'm reluctant to put the name here as it might be interpreted as advertising. In the near future they are also going to do the main board update for me.:top:

Just try the link from post #1280. That is english version. Your diagun could be one with universal serial number, so you can try (use 2nd sd card). For german language you will need to find an other update, use google and type in your serial.

I try this but in Vehicules folder another folders is named DGAUDI, DGBENZ... and my GX3 structure is AUDI, BENZ....
I try to copy files form "DGAUDI" to "AUDI" but when i try to run new version of AUDI the GX3 stick on "processing..."

Mate the softwear that you download it is not for your tool and cannot have same serial with yours
DGAUDI are for Diagun not for GX3
Diagun and GX3 have diffent S/N and diffrent OS
Diagun Win CE 5.0
GX3/MAster Linux
So you have wrong updates

I belive you don't want to understand that GX3 and Diagun are totally diffrent
Diffrent OS no same kind of softwears ( coverage it is the softwears but diffrent OS )
Do what my friend NZBrakelathes told you
Then you'll see your real serial.

Mate let me make you understand.
Your softwears depend then your S/N ( serial number )
If you need softwears to work you need softwears for your serial number otherwise you cannot use item
Softwears cost and or try to search your serial number in googe and if you find it then you are a very lucky guy otherwise you need to pay for updates.
Mean while I wanna informe you that all softwears are the same and the diffrent between item is the language and serial number
So there'so craqcked versions becasue you don't need to crack anything you have to change the serial and this cannot be done by anybody, just few guys in china knows , maybe in UK one in russia one who took the money and runn away and let the customers wihout updates and maybe one or two guys who can do this and they won't to do it
All that you didn;t understood please ask and we will answear to you.
Open serial it is a Lauch tool that it dosen't care for what S/N the car softwear is it

If you find your serial there then you can try, otherwise you waste your time because it'll not work

Do you have Dutch updates? Could you share a set with me so I can make Dutch updates please?
I know some files say NL as base language files but there in English etc
I think it uses them when you set PDA language in NL
I have EN and DE software etc
You can change language from older update easy as pie

I have a friend who wrecked his machine with an update, the better it is to buy a blank card and put the update, so you do not risk anything

The best it is to have one SD card as a back up
But if you back up your SD card in your computer before update it then you'll have problem
And the most important it is to keep your S/N in mind becasue if you loose everything you ask for softwear or buy it ( depend of the cases )

P.S. - if you have an Open Serial flashed Diagun for instance you "don't need anything" just copy/paste any softwears in your Sd card and "voila" you have a working tool

I can offer original updates to your launch tools, internet updates with the latest software and it is a full year via the launch site regardless of where your machine comes from original or copy. Machines will need a super 16 plug to work with the latest software, this is also available. PM me if you need to get your machines up to speed. FYI the latest software is brilliant and you are doing a great injustice to yourself if you using older versions the improvements are miles apart from this current version.. my price is very competitive compared to a launch dealer. I also have been selling launch for over 10 years and openly offer technical assistance to anyone on here that needs advise pm me and will do my best to get back to you

Maybe you wanna say that you need DGBXFIAT v10.02 ( Brazilian Fiat ) for old style Diagun not DGFIAT ( this is for European FIAT and it is now at version 33.00 )

This you can do it if you have an open serial nu cannot work this if you have a normal serial in your machine
All that files and the exe either depending by the S/N
As I sadi if you have an Open Serial machine you can do this but not in other cases.

It's just an HD in the GDS box
I'd like to get the petrol n diesel combo but little low on cash etc
They can be open serial too
So not bad option in the update department

hi,not really,as far as i know the new launch products used launch own developed chips to protect the original serial number not to be changed.Per GDS HD i don't think they can do that open serial.otherwise will occur a heap of trouble to use.

You can change serial number by replacing the bluetooth pcb from the smartbox. There are "open serial" pcbs which work with all software, no matter what serial the software is for.
Or you can try to find a supplier where you can buy a software update for your s/n.
Or you can try to extend you describtion directly with Launch company.

I mainly work on only a few makes of manufacturers, so I only need to update a few cars, Can i just update these only? I.e just copy over the files that I need, Could i crack these files somehow to work with my smartbox?

You need jailbreak the smartbox that's the easiest way
I only know this service to be done in China or Ireland
Then you can use any serial number software etc

When I bought my Diagun I was told it was a jailbreak version, but it certainly doesnt work on software with the wrong serial in it.

I did find some later software with my serial from a Russian forum once and that works ok, but as said it did have the same serial.

how did you do that?you need to decompress the file and drag the GAG folder to the card,meanwhile,you will also need o delete that imagine which is under the GAG folder.hopefully i am clear on this

Quality B smartbox openserial is $160 but from aliexpress i wouldn't be sure that this would be openserial thats risky plus they are a copy of the old 2008 boards
original smartbox + account is $250 roughly then openserial mod price on top plus shipping ,all originals made after 2012 smartbox hardware have different boards ( Launch Diagun BoxMcu OMRON PIC PCB V1 )
For 110usd i would expect 2 openserial mcu's
