The machine I received will not access database, and it didn't come with the SD memory card. I can not get it to work and the company I bought it from is ignoring me. Can anyone help me?

Thank you. I bought it from Sicotool and they have not been helpful at all. I have asked for an RMA and the never reply. I have downloaded the 2013 database to laptop but v8x6 will not connect to laptop. When i try to use as standalone and press the button with car next to it, i displays "Retrieving Moving to Root" and locks up machine.

So you just need the data for the 2gb fat sd card?
Try obd2express.co.uk, they have a great service.
Even if you are not a client, the could help. Or pm some v8x6 users. there are a few on D.K.

I have a memory card which came with quite similar machine.
Not possible to open at computer. Win 7. And read the files.
But I guess you will sort it out.

Hi

Try to use winimage or any other software able to backup sector by sector the sd card.
From Linux will be so easy with dd.

Will be interesting to have those firmwares,could be the way to upgrade that machines.

Are there drivers that need to be downloaded? Laptop will not recognize the key machine. I have downloaded the software and loaded it on laptop, but still won't work. I have searched for drivers and can't find any.

I sent you a link to the software, I think it has a driver in it... The biggest problem we had was the machine like a lower com port, the computer gave it com9.. We changed it to com2 and then selected com2, and Viola, the darn thing worked...

Here's mine, load it to an SD card formatted to "FAT". Insert it into your X6 main computer, there's a spot for it. (you may already know this).

I think Automat typed the magic words.... FAT... I just remembered this... If you try and write to a blank SD card with Win7 and above, it automaticly defaults to a NTFS format... The X6 is soooo advanced, it won't see that...
