VW Golf Discover Pro MIB hack, navi activation and cp removal

I've seen for sale some navi units for retrofit VW Golf 7 discover pro, hacked with protection component removed and navi and phone activated, this units is manufatured by Harman and p/n like 5G0035843 or 020, also fitted in other VAG vehicles like Seat Leon Mk3 (2013>..)...Superb etc

If you buy a not-hacked secondhand unit, and retrofit and remove CP through your dealer never more have navigation...voice or phone because licenses are disabled by software (Vw SWaP).

I suspect that activation or component protection could be removed though a modified Fw update.
I located a fw update and if you see into binary files you can see ascii like:
ComponentProtectionListenerDSI.class
m_componentProtectionHandlerThread
SimDSIComponentProtectionServer.class
... and others.

This units have MCU Renesas SH7777 (SH-NaviJ3) and Nec V850...

Anybody have the knowhow for hack this Fw files?, ideas...experience? This could be the init for Seat Audi Vw Skoda Mib an Mib II decode.

Got fully activated unit, went to VW and said - ONLY CP Remove
not whole adaptation
And they did that
Use car since May 2016 and all is ok
Voice Command, BT, GPS....all working good

It is the first time I hear this, normally the CP is removed through official ODIS, by online server in VW headquarters, the process not is fully controled by the dealer and Odis make all the settings according to VIN...buyed SwAp codes and PR codes. I know several cases with bad result, some in VW but much of Leon Mk3, and with many people looking the solution, some with close relation with the dealer....

if this would be a solution will be great to know a detailed Odis instruction to transmit to dealer, although sometimes is very difficult for the workshop do what you command him.

Guy who sold me also working in VW and he told me what to do exactly.
And I did that. I was seat with Vw engineer who was connected to my car
radio have few errors (dont have time to recode) it come Golf R with ACC, LA, TPMS, etc ... my one is basic , poor ;)
But as I said - all is working.
After CP remove radio show my VIN.
Engineerr from VW told me I can even install old radio and both will work

Yes, the most important key is how to make map activations for free. The ucranian guys can do it for some $ hundreds, not cheep and need to send and go back the unit , so is possible.
CP could be removed by dealer or Odis geko Online for a few euros, but the ucranian guys also sale units without CP, so also is possible.... but how? :torn:

I have same here Golf 7 with used Discover Media (5F Screen and Head Unit).

All works fine but navigation dont work.

Component protecion removed by VW but navigation dont work.

How can this be fixed?

Hello, I asked on 3 Seat dealers and they don't know how to procedure... They only knew how to remove component protection. I test in one Seat dealer with the car and the navi, after removed the CP protection and only works the radio. BT, NAVI and VOICE not working.
Really workers from Seat know how to do this? I have my doubts about it

But you know how to do ONLINE? without lose the Radio, BT, Voice... ? to tell him on dealer. Because they don't know.
What Special function? The problem is related by VIN because the car on it will be installed don't have NAVI. Just Radio, BT, VOICE. So maybe they can't adapt adding this special function?

Hello everybody! Today we removed CP from the MIB2 unit and they have been disabled the NAVI, BT, FULL LINK. The dealer, mechanic has no idea how to reactivate.
Are you sure about just need to be adapted the new unit to VIN with Online account? becouse we don't know.

Maybe in VW service of where you live ... But not all services can or know do them. If you can post or share some info about procediment. Do you know this steps?
In 3 services taht we talked and they havent idea of adaptation.

Remove CP is possible in dealer or via online with some user who can access to GEKO account. Or get PKEY... but don't have information about activate the functions after CP remove, all be disabled.

Once component protection has been removed the radio will work. On Odis under special functions you need to go to Function clearing, under this test you get 2 options , option 1 is Activate functions, option 2 is Restore Functions. To activate functions you will need the SVM code for the specific function which is obtained through the dealer network. The restore function will do exactly what it says , if the vehicle identification has been changed due to a new lock set being fitted or a new ecu, ABS, EPS etc.... run this function and it will restore SAT NAV, Bluetooth, driving modes ACC etc... but only if it left the factory with them or you have paid for SVM activation.

Yep I did an A3 last week, customer supplied SVM code and SD card with map data. Both were obtained from his local dealer, from memory I think he said they were £140 each.

OPS vehicle image can be changed in ODIS by changing longcode bytes. Stored in Module 5F - Information Electronic -> Coding -> Long coding under byte 18, bit0, bit 1, and bit 2 control vehicle image. bit 0 deactivate, bit 1 active, bit 2 active -> golf; bit 0 active, bit 1 active, bit 2 deactivated -> GTI

Hello, this is an interesting topic, I also have a problem with mib std2 pq. Used from another car, I put it to sharana 2012, the radio worked for some time but then there was a message about CP. Then I found out that if I did not put in the car, it was possible to mount a patch on the radio and that unfortunately it would work late. Now I am looking for a solution. I wonder if I want to disable Cp by delar or online, which functions will work and which do not, the car originally had a radio RNS315 with BT VOIC and Navigation and so left the factory. Only the radio was different, and now my question is jwhether it was enough to have these functions added to vin even though there was another radio?

if MIB 1 was factory , Dealer should enable activation according to your VIN, not just CP remove

Go to dealer and tell them to restore SVM activations based on your VIN number.
All will work except navigation because MIB1 and MIB2 maps have different FEC code.
Best is to buy MIB2 mapcare for your VIN,it is a lifetime map code,but it is available only in some countries.

I know that some guys have solution for activate all the options in mib and they can do that with ODIS. There is a russian guy who knows everything about this and have solution for.
Please don't ask me how because I'm looking solution.

I went to my dealer vw. After 2 hours waiting they told me that nothing can be done. Only component protection. Because they don't know how to do that.

Hi,I have retrofitted Discovery media 3Q0035846B soft 0867-Delphi produced 2018, into Passat 2016. I would like to have all features unlocked (App connect, navi ..) Previous system was Composition colour 5G0035869B without navi, but with Bluetooth, Driving modes activated from production.
CP was removed, but FEC couldnt be restored. After trying to restore them via special functions, answer from server was "there are no codes to be restored for this address"
Any solution for me?
