we had this disscuion at lunchtime, and 'Ned The Gardener'
suggested that in the trunk (he is not from round here), the amplifier near the spare tire (sorry his spelling is bad), the amplfier inside the silicon chips switch to overload, 2x small black things, nothing can be done about them, is what he said.

In it EEPROM there is no code. It only the monitor! What's happened? You don't have sound, or the car isn't got and writes "code" on the monitor?

i need to swap display on my x5 also, please post your result here, i fear i will have same problem. can it be resolved with dis?

ok ! But in inside no ane other eeprom only this 24c04 and MCU Nec ?

Maybe sobody can generate CODE from serial ?

I Too think that it is only possible from BMW dealer, has anyone solved the no Audio problem on the Becker BM54 radio tuner in back :ahhhhh:

Code is in tacho (IKE)
With BMW scanner you can reset code to 0000 or read from IKE. It works for me with BMW scanner 1.4.0 ,but maybe 1.3.6 will work too.
About MOSFETs in BM54: you can repair ,but have to change another type of MOSFET and solder lot of wires.

cammy can you share a screenshot or instructions how, i've never used bmw scanner before and wanted to see what it looks like before ordering. also do you know if its possible to do with inpa or dis?

Cant make screenshot ,should be connected to a car first.
But its easy
Go to IKE ---> Programming --> set security code to zero
Or IKE ---> Coding---> recoding--> the you just read code from screen.
