It's the software/firmware upgrade sisc i'm after. I have the 04/2007 version but I understand that there is also a 10/2007 version which is the latest

what will it do for the CD70?.. I did not bother and just used an updated map cd with no probs..

I will ask if I can borrow one from somebody (so long as he has one).. If he does have one i will make and image and post links on here..

the last software cd made for these was dated 10/2007 is that the one you want?

To check you software level do this:

Press and hold the SETTINGS button until you hear a 'bong' - the unit is now in Testmode.
Press AUDIO 3 or 4 times once in testmode to scroll through screens until you get to SOFTWARE.
Look for the software date - it's in the format 10/10/2007.


You will see from the edited pic that it is a 2005 and therefore needs an update...

CD70/DVD90 software update

I used a genuine CD to do mine that somebody kindly loaned me.. This image is extracted from a torrent and in turn reuploaded to mediafire as a .rar file... Extract the rar and it produces a .nrg file... Use Nero to burn this to a decent quality blank CD at slow speed...

To upgrade to your headunit you must turn the ignition on, remove you audio and maps disks then insert the software CD into the map slot... It will check your current software level and if it can update the HU it will ask if you wish to proceed. The update takes about 5 - 10 mins to complete. Your saved radio stations will be cleared but your saved navi destinations should remain. Once completed the CD will reject itself and quickly reboot the headunit..

DO NOT SWITCH OFF YOUR IGNITION DURING THE UPDATE.

did you try it though? I had checked the files inthe download and they were the same as the files on the original disk... There isn't a newer version than this one as Vauxhall/Opel stopped installing the CD70/DVD90 after 2008 i believe..

I am running the same 04/2007 firmware as you were and am wondering if a chaing to the latest version might be of some advantage. I am having difficulty with the TMC on my latest 2009/2010 UK maps and wondered if the latest firmware might overcome this.

I was led to believe from a comment on v.c.com that there was some change in the tmc on the later maps but I would not have expected a change for the worse. If it turns out that the 2009 UK maps are suspect in the cd70 I am concerned that I might not find out that my 2009 France map is duff until I get there in a few weeks. Do I try to get older France maps to get good tmc and older roads or later roads and risk no tmc.

No TMC or/and postal codes search available here in Romania, so I can't help you on that. The good thing about this version of firmware is that when I listen to a CD, the display is more detailed about what I'm listening. ;)

Just a quick note to say a big thank you to caveman. I downloaded the software update and the UK maps overnight, loaded them in to the car this morning andit all went perfectly well.

Floppus, I have same problem with updated Nav disks, 2009/2010 get no TMC, 2008 disk is fine for Uk. I think read the same post on vc as yourself, showing software changes, think the disk TMC has changed to TM, not software as when old disk is reinserted into satnav, TMC reappears.

Maybe you needed to use a turkish version and not this english version..., What has happened since.. You can check with the guys in car radio section abd see what they say..

This happened to me.
You need to reburn it perhaps with IMGburn.
The stereo is ok it is NOT bricked...you just need to get a good copy of the software update, insert the disc & it will do the update.

I downloaded the file from cd70soft07.rar (http://www.mediafire.com/?ltwlgmdyqbl) lastnight... burned to a CD at x2 speed. Popped it in the CD70 and waited over an hour. Completely hung. Now the system boots in a loop trying to do a software update. I've reburned the image onto various CD's and it still doesn't boot.

Unit is toast by the looks of it.. Can't reset the eeprom in the hidden menu as the eeprom isn't listed.

Any ideas before I shell out a tonne of cash for a new one?

Managed to resolve my issue.. thank god.
Downloaded another firmware (2004) and burned to Tesco CD's with Nero.. Booted up and updated (or more likely downdated) just fine.

May attempt to reburn the linked image in this thread to Tesco CD and try again... hmm..

After 5 copies with different pr(imgburn,power iso,magic iso,ashampoo with maxell,tdk,platinum) nothing happened...i was desperate...So i found and i bought the original cd from ebay.de 27 euros.I had the battery pole last night out..today put it on,start the engine and put the cd in...arround 30sec started and 11min finished...everything is back and perfect working...(anyone knows what is this dump tool on or off?)... Glad to hear you got it working. Mine is broken atm and I am collecting the new CD from Vauxhall tomorrow. Fingers crossed it might work, at the moment the fuse is out.

Did you put the ignition on, fuse back in and quickly put the disk into the navi slot?

Hi....I had only the battery pole out for one night...fuse were in...when i put pole back,my unit maked again strange noises so i start the engine(cross my fingers) and put the cd...arround 30-40sec later started updating...i have the 2009-10 german maps(copy) and everything now works just fine.....Opel Astra H 1.9cdti 2006 :top: :party:CIAO

Sorted it. Got the 10/2007 update CD from Vauxhall this morning (cost me just over ?5), popped it in with the ignition on and it updated the system within 15 minutes.

Just wanted to ask you a question.

My dad wanted a CD for his CD70 Navi on his Vauxhall, I downloaded this torrent: TORRENT DELETED AS AGAINST FORUM RULES

When I burnt it to disc and inserted it in the navi disc tray, it said that there wasn't a disc and that I should insert the correct navi disc.

Do I need to download a software disc or something first? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

You need to change your recordable media and retry. I use tesco disc with lowest speed, works like a charm.

i was able to takte the cd out (opened the device)
inserted an original update (older one) and it worked fine, red progress bar appeared..ready..useable
i will order an original cd now, as i was told by opel that a copy mostly will not work

Hi Bank thank you for your reply. I have your image thank you but every method i use to burn the CD70 will not update, crashes and i have to go back to the old 2007 firmware.

Ive tried everything, slowest speed in Nero, win 7 and XP, Magic ISO, and Power ISO. All the same, CD and CD/RW brands. Laptop / Desktop Still. Ive even taken the CD70 apart to clean the laser lens. Still no luck.

Must be something im doing wrong if your image is ok.
