Hello!

I have Astra G 2001, 1.4 16V Z14XE model with a faulty ECU ... so I need replacement. I'm looking for a used one on the internet. The seller says it has been reset with Tech 2, so I only need programming code of MY car to do the coding. Is this correct or do I actually need the NEW ECU's programming code? Can do the programming of keys with Texa Axone 2000, as it seems to support it?

Thanks for answers!

you need a reset ecu, there is software out there to reset used ecu;s but its expensive as im just about to invest into it, but in order to swap ecu you must have a reset ecu...

Yes, the ECU has been reset with Tech2 (or so the seller says). The question is - can I program it to my vehicle using any diagnostic interface that supports coding, or do I have to use specifically Tech2?

OP-COM works great in swap ecu's.
Choose:
2001>Astra G>Body>Im*obiliser II>Programming>im*obiliser Function>ECU Installed>OK>Yes
Turn Ignition Off/On
Done.

Yes it is possible with op-com :

with op-com you should read out the variant configuration in motor ecu and write it down.

Choose im*obilisator and RESET ECU (you need security code),

swap ecu, go to im*obilisator and choose LEARN ECU.

Read out the ecu and program variant configuration.

See attachment

Guys, thank you very much! I really appreciate your help!

One more question - how do copied OP-COM interfaces from eBay work? Can I do this with one from eBay with firmware v1.39? Thanks again for your answer!

the op-com clones from ebay works perfect with version 090714 just search for opcom090714_en

this is a cracked version special for op-com clones :sheep:

Cool, tnx! Do higher versions like 090820B or 090821 work perfect either ... is there some improvement so they are worth spending more cash?

with higher version i noticed that i couldn't erase faultocodes an do actuator test, so stick to the old one until there is a good version that works with clones without problems.

If you update to far, than the only way your op-coom goes is in to the trash-bin

As lupu_sandu (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/61191-lupu_sandu/) said you can do that with OPCOM. You may need SPS programming to the new engine control module if comes from a newer model (up to 2003) with no engine cooling module.

... and I can do SPS programming with OP-COM with no problem?

One more question - is there a problem because my car is Opel and the new ECU is from Vauxhall car? Both have the same Z14XE engines.

Also you can do variant and reset ecu with dataprobe

SPS οnly with Tech 2 + TIS2000 + SPS dongle. Also you must check can configuration and variant coding if they are OK for you vehicle.

My car is 2001, new ECU is also from 2001. New ECU has number 12242030. Will I need SRS coding or no? Thanks!

Oh and - does OP-COM really work only under Windows XP, and not Vista or 7?

I don't understand this. Will I need SRS programming if the new engine control module is from cars BEFORE 2003 or AFTER 2003?

After 2003. W0L0TFGxx3 VIN number. 99% you will not need SPS programming.

Thanks. Btw, what data do I have to transfer from old ECU to new ECU? VIN and mechanical code, anything else?

Nothing. You said that the new ECU has been reseted with tech 2 when removed from the other vehicle. So the procedure is:
With the old ECU go with OPCOM to body-->>immo-->>special functions. Enter your vehicle Security Code and the click on Reset Engine Control Module. After that vehicle will not start and engine electrics telltale will flash.
Replace ECU with the new one and go to body-->>immo-->>programming enter vehicle security code and the click on programming immo fuction. From the drop down menu you have to choose Engine controler installed.

Hope this helps

Thanks! And then, I assume I have to program the keys (old) again. Am I right?

No if the new engine ECU has been resetted you have not to program keys.
