Toshiba Laptop Problem

I own a toshiba satellite A100 laptop .Its screen is broken so i attach a monitor and use it ( Been doing that from many months ). I was using it as i do normally yesterday and all of a sudden dont know what happend , the screen went yellow and the monitor just off'd . I switched off my laptop , removed all the wire connections , attached them again and then on'd it .. it worked that time and windows xp loading screen came up . But after the Xp loading is done the monitor jus gets blank again , but my laptop light is styl on . I tried to make it work but it just dosent work . It only works in safe mode and i even tried system restore many times . That dosent work either . plz can anyone tell me whats rong with my laptop and how can i sort this problem out ? .

sounds like its cooked and burning out... with the screen damage it would be cheaper to get it replaced on your house insurance.. but ask for a a better one..

could be a number reasons are you getting any beeps from laptop or errors on screen?

could be overheating and the laptop shutting down every so often or the battery/a hardware fault

open the laptop case up and check the hardware.

I to have a toshiba laptop and the screen has just gone on mine, everything loads and works but the screen is very dark almost like a negative picture. not sure what to do about it.

y dont u get a replacement screen from flee bay, iv swaped many of these in the past and they are quite simple, just take your time taking the laptop apart and if this is your first go take photos at each stage then its easier to rebuild..

The following generic steps can help you to dismantle your laptop.
Remove the battery.
Remove all cards on the bottom (memory module, wireless card, modem card, etc.) Be careful with cables and connectors, it's very easy to damage and very time consuming to replace.
Remove all drives (hard drive, CD-ROM drive, DVD drive, etc.) If you cannot find the hard drive, it most likely is hidden under the keyboard or under the top cover assembly. If you cannot find securing screws for the optical drive on the bottom, they are most likely under the keyboard.
Remove all screws on the bottom of the laptop.
Remove the keyboard securing strip. Be careful, sometimes it might be very tight.
Remove the keyboard.
Remove all screws under the keyboard and disconnect all cables.
Remove all screws securing the display assembly. Lift the LCD screen / display off the base.
Lift the top cover assembly off the base.
Remove all screws securing the system board, the power board, the video board, etc. Disconnect all cables, connecting the boards.
Remove all boards and remove the CPU.
