W204 EIS Infrared not working.

As the title suggests I have a W204 mercedes with a faulty EIS and key not recognised. Vvdi mb identifies eis via obd on the bench but when I try to run data acquisition it fails as IR not working. Can IR function be repaired? I have an identical EIS with key. From what I researched it seems I can renew new EIS and copy saved info from old and put in a password of my choice and read ESL data and write to emulator. If I could repair ori EIS so I can extract password then that would be great. Any idea how to repair IR?

Any help would be much appreciated.

First check if the eis sends transponder request data.
Use a key antenna detector.

Soon as a key is inserted, eis will power up the key, and trigger key request.
