I want to work on this dash ,the dash has inside MC912,i understand that it can be read/write with upa by solder the 4 points behind the dash, can anyone post a picture to see where is the connection and what pins on Upa must be connected?
Thank you.

this MCU on freelander always secured, must be desoldered to etl,or UPA hc912 adapter,or in circuit with rosfar!

regards Gepa

Yes, I don't think you can do this car with UPA you need to program on a certain frequency, Rosfar R260 is the only way.

also tried with desoldering MCU and read it with UPA hc912 adapter and ETL work fine, but need desoldering..

yep, desolder, but the real problem is the needles, when you mess with them you will have hard times trying to put them bach in place...

Yes, use Xprog-m no problem.

But what adapter to use? In clone box is not bdm adapter which has coaxial cable inside or can use normal cable with same pinout?

Use HC12(S) BDM adapter. I have original, but clone Xprog-m have too BDM adapter.

Hi, i also confirm that UPA-USB clone works with freelander secured mcu, you just need sorder it on bdm board. No need to remove needles also.

Cool, you got the info.

THIS IS A GENUINE JOB - NO ODOMETERS WILL BE INCORRECTED, need to swap out a faulty speedo head.

Does anybody know if plugging in a used speedo will wack out the milage in BCM?

THANKS

They don't sync with each other mr meaty head , so you'd have to incorrect vcm , but on a 2004 no one is gonna be concerned

Your ****ed with upa meaty .. unless you bought the adaptor .. it MCU is bdm locked so need to be removed to read ..unless you have r260 or similar ..don't have Xprog so dont know about it

Right, so your saying remove the MCU stick into upa adaptor - (china clone) no idea what they were off hand.

It's a fuel gauge fault - ign on, spins around like a roulette wheel.

Not confident it's more than just the motor, but looks like it a pig of a job to swap over.

Thanks.

I make 3 x freelander belong 2 week time. I tray Xprog, UPA and R270. Every time after correction dash go dead, I don't know why but xprog and R270 made by china do errors by writing(verification ok) but dash don't wake up, or problem on fuel gauge. I make backup read flash and eprom, after few attempts dash back to live, but make my mad.
I looking for freelander solution :)

I have only done one of these, used a R260 clone (red 9s12) work first time with no errors or removing MCU, Just connected Via BDM Port.

Got mine from banny @ revtronic

cas3 912x 9s12x in circuit programmer (http://www.greebid.com/wholesale/cas3-912x-9s12x-in-circuit-programmer-697.html)

from Banny think it was ?230, but you have somewhere close to speak to if you have a problem.

:roflmao::roflmao: Sorry mate, you lost me there.

Timer, bomb? Is it possable and ONLY a possable, was NOTHING nasty at all, but infact a digital clock off say a freeview arieal. That might have been IN-correct - just needed winding back?
