Hi there, has anyone got the ability to give me a drivers door module coding number for a Audi 8J7959801J door module on a 2010 Mk2 Audi TT 1.8 CDAA engine code.

when replacing a door module, old unit is either corrupted or code was changed in it.

we did play with a couple of codes and managed to get the windows working but looks like door locks no longer work. I have the Prod. sticker details but not sure if that is of any use.

we repaired the broken wires in door loom but although i have comms to door module cannot get everything working.

the reason i know the coding is wrong is the Gateway module not stores an incorrect coding error that wasnt there before.

we do know the dealer has the option of obtaining it but was hopeful there was another way.

any help appreciated....

As a form of reply to my own question I managed to kind of sort it out myself today,

Even though many of the Google responses say dealer can configure for you using a SVM request? I used a Autel Maxsys "Guided Diagnostics" go to 42- drivers door module coding and it will guide you and ask questions as to what is fitted to the vehicle. (Note: i found odd how it refered to Prod. numbers but non of the suggested prod numbers matched my sticker even though they were fitted).

There are a few options which are fixed & some obvious ones such as RHD or Fully automatic roof. But also some other not so obvious options listed below with a guide how to tell.

Auto stop/Start ( look for auto stop/start light with ignition on or cancel switch)
Folding Mirrors (Look for picture on mirror switch)
Heated Mirrors (again look ar Mirror Switch)
Lighting Package /Door Illumination (look if light fitted at end of door when opened)

there are other options for boot release on key ect or anti pinch on windows which you have to try one way and if not another.

once you get a code at the end of the process, clear all codes and check the gateway module if you still have a incorrect coding fault. once you have the correct code this fault should disappear. but I tried that all the functions on the door were working including boot release and alarm disable buttons and fuel flap release then just made sure the roof also worked then i was satisfied with that.

I will try to add some example codes below, just remember mine was a roadster, RHD so these codes will on RHD vehicles.

Heated Mirrors = No Yes Yes
Lighting Package= No No Yes
RHD= Yes Yes Yes
Folding Mirrors= No No No
Fully Auto Roof = Yes Yes Yes
Auto Stop/Start= No No No

Short Code= 533 565 637

basically if you keep a table like this and keep changing the options you are not 100% sure about until you get the right code you will get there. One of the codes may work for you if you have the same options as above. i have included these in ahope it may help someone get their car working properly again
