Blaupunkt Caluclator Help

Hi All,

Currently have a Blaupunkt Cambridge SQM-39 which bought of off Ebay; the code given with it doesn't seem to work:

Serial No: BP8861A3712509
Model No: 7 648 861 010

I've been trying to use the "Blaupunkt Standard" calculator I downloaded off the net but the numbers don't seem to work (I'm entering the BP number above with it and am getting 5574 and 1574 as codes)

So, a couple of quick questions:

1. Am I using the correct number with the calculator?
2. What is the purpose of the two numbers the calculator produces?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Blaupunkt Cambridge SQM-39

Code 5574 is indeed the original manufacturer's
code for the radio.

It leaves only two possibilities:-
a) the radio has been re-programmed with another
code at some stage.
b) the error could be in entering the
code properly.

If it's (A), your option will be to read the dump
from the eepprom chip (if you have the equipment)
or use the services of a radio decoder.

The code you found '1574' refers to Blaupunkts
that will only accept codes, where the first
digit can either be a '1' or a '0'
(not applicable to your radio)

In addition, some older Blaupunkts don't lend themselves
to code recovery using any of the calculating software.

HI There,

Thanks for the response; in regards to the entry of the code, I tried the procedure you posted a link to and all that happened was that I would enter the first number and then push the ">" button, at which point four dashes "----" would appear on the display. I tried the same again but with the exception of not pressing ">" after entering a number but to the same effect.

It looks like that this radio may have been reprogrammed "in a previous life" :-( In regards to dumping the eeprom, does anyone have a tutorial/procedure/equipment list for such an operation???
