Having problems, i am getting an anti pollution fault come on in the dash. This problem seems to come and go with it resetting itself, My next problem is now i am getting an engine warning light with stop illuminated in the dash with engine coolant overheating the gauge shoots from 70 into the red for a couple of seconds then comes back to 70 and the stop warning on the dash stops. My coolant levels are fine all be i let them go too the min level before topping them up the other week, Hope someone can help and hope its not an expensive fix.....ive heard that the anti pollution fault is a commen problem with peugeot..:(

It would seem a problem of engine coolant temperature sensor that goes mad and sends the alarm ECU engine and related indicators.
First you need to really understand if the temperature rises above 100 ? C (use a thermometer), if possible reading errors in ECU.

thanks for that will check, Dont know if that is the problem though as car is virtually been running couple of mins and gets too about 75 degrees then just jumps too the red engine warning comes on with the stop flashing i slow down within 5 secs of the warning it drops from the red back too 75 then drives fine for the rest of my journey with normal engine temp rising to just below 90...

If you solve the problem you keep updated on Thread, we are curious.

will do, i think it has to do with original anti pollution fault sending ecu haywire but getting to the bottom of the anti pollution fault with peugeot costs a lot off money ive been told as it could be numerous problems from, filter in exhaust needing changed, sensors, drop in voltage error, additive tank needing topped up, fuel pressure fault too name just a few will try and get too the bottom of this and post my results....

it usually says "fuel additive low" if the eolys tank needs filling, not anti-pollution fault

i had read that it would come up that. But ive also heard peugeot dealer blaming that for giving an anti pollution fault as well maybe just after extra money at 30 quid a litre and since there the only ones that can top it up good little extra earner!!!!! Think im going to be banging my head against the wall to get this sorted could be a number of faults... also to state when anti pollution fault is showing on the dash i am not loosing any power from the engine and not going into crawl mode which i have read elsewhere is happening too other people. :banghead:

Hi,
Anti-Pollution Fault does not mean all the time that you have run out of fuel Additive.
Anti-Pollution Fault showing on dash means you have a fault in the Engine Management System, there for the best thing would be is if you first get some one to Diagnose the complete system on your car example like Engine ECU, BSI System, Fuel Additive System, Instrument, and see what fault codes you have in there.
As for your Over Heating Warning fault i would advice you to check the cooling fan relays which are located in front grill near the Radiator for poor connections.
Hope This Helps.

I know there was a recall for 06 models with cracked water sensor causing anti pollution fault just something else of a long list it could be. well im going to plug it in the morra on my day off and see what codes i get back. Do a reset then see what happens....... peugeot got right down in my estimations they used to be very reliable cars. there about as reliable as alpha romeos when it comes too the wiring now time to change brand me thinks.....

will check the cooling fan relays cheers. i still think its anti pollution fault messing with the ecu. setting off the over heating fault as right at the end of the over heating fault im getting the anti pollution fault stay on .. going to do a diagnostic myself when got the chance... trying to save money... dont want to take too the garage if i dont have too..

read the fault codes NOT the display.
I recently read an 806 that displayed "fuel filter blocked". The actual fault was PEF blockage (read with PP2k), a forced regen and it went away.(for now at least, I suspect that the PEF is partially blocked with ash which dont go away!)
