Nice first post! Maybe go here Introduce Yourself (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f2/) , then u could jailbreak but you need to be on an higher firmware of 3.1.3 to jailbreak

version is 1.1.5 Too old .U need to upgrade or restore firmware 3.1.3 to itune .

No problem m8 , welcome to DK any questions ask away, but first you need a stock firmware 3.1.3 go here iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download (http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/) make sure you get the correct one for your iPod gen :)

Once u are on 3.1.3, you can use Spiritjb , or easy option goto Jailbreakme.com make sure you have iPod connected throughout via your USB lead

Listen m8 just goto the link for the correct firmware and download to where you know,when you restore you point to this firmware,holding shift then click restore.....see below:
1:iphone/ipod touch plugged in (usb)
2:hold power button and home button for about 10 seconds until you here the chime sound
3: when you here the sound ,let go of the power button,but still keep home button pressed for about 15 seconds until the chime again.
4: you should then have a black screen,and itunes will tell you ,you are in dfu mode and need to restore firmware :software
5: this is where you can restore to different firmware( very handy if you want to jailbreak also.
6: hold shift button on pc and left click on mouse restore and choose firmware....location
7:wait awhile and your ipod/iphone etc....is back to original settings...

On ebay you can buy a sim interceptor and it fakes the ipod into beleiving its on the right system when not.
