Hi guys, would you help please - I need to disable Inlet Temp Sensor @ the N2 channel of DDEC IV or just eliminate the fault code from that source by DDCT. How to do that?

Might be wrong but I was told you could not disable and it plays a important part in fuel mileage. I say that because I have a Ddec IV same problem. I have the 4 wire sencer before the turbo. I tried new sencer and checked all the wiring. I am thinking it is in the programing.

Is possible disable it, but its true, if the ecm don't know the inlet temperature, your mileage will decrease. Why don't you try to follow the troubleshooting procedure to solve your problem? if its impossible to solve (the only way i know is if you have a bad ecm) then can show you how to do it.

The gurus hercamp and ddmech have given me the advice how to disable that channel by DDCT

hi m8
Tell me about version compatibility EMS software
Problem exists - there DDEC IV rel_09D (6067GK60, 06RE107332), he has a problem with the gas pedal - swing connector, works\no. Unit opened - visually fine.
There EMS from EGR engine rel_37D (6067MK6E, 06R0725398) and firmware without ERG rel_32D - when trying to load swears by an incompatible version.
Is there any solution to the problem?

DDRS is for ddec 6.No good for you.Drs programs a base cal and parameter cal for certain ser. #.Dct will change all parameters after base cal is initialy flashed into a blank ecm.The problem is if getting the right cal for your application with drs.On a used ecm I have hundreds of dct cals for freight, western star, ect.I usually use one of those then modify it to fit my app.
Hi ddmech,
Please share calibration for Series 60 with engine serial number 06R0178237, Model 6067WK60.

THis post is very useful. I have a question however, if i wanted strong acceleration on my 14.0, would adjusting max pulse width do anything? Where would i start? Nothing is wrong but i want to squeeze more power out this motor. Egr is already deleted by the way. Pulls very well in the hills but from gears 1-4 feels like no difference.
Any help is appreciated.

Yes increasing pulse width will give you more power. Make sure you have a working pyrometer installed before messing with it too much.

Ah ok ok thanks for the heads up. Ive heard adjusting the smoke control values possibly help as well in addition with PW. I think the paremeter is pw_fudgefactor? Also how about adjusting boi_fudgefactor as well (base of injection)? Pretty sure it advances timing? Or am i wrong?

I am building a bench test setup that will allow me to simulate all the important sensors so that the ecm thinks it's on an engine. example . ecm thinks that the engine is running at 1800 rpm and we take a potentiometer which simulates the intake air temp we adjust the potentiometer and watch to see how the ecm changes the timing and pulsewidth. if i'm correct if you open a map when the engine is running the cell that the ecm is currently using will be highlighted. so we can also see where the ecm is looking to get values on diferent maps.
The one thing that will be dificult will be simulating load on the engine. i'm not sure how the ecm calculates load, but i have a feeling that if i can't make the engine think that there is a load on the engine it will output a pulsewidth for idle, or maybe even 0.
Does anyone have an idea how the ecm calculates load?
thanks!
ecm calculates the load with the % off the tps. and the rpms of the engine
i had make mani reprogramming and testing stations, pm for more info

Bringing the old thread back to life
I have a DDEC v we run it on a Genset @1800 RPM the engine is rated 515Hp 2007 model seems when we pull 300HP (200KW) and beyond we get a Red Manifold
I have change all 6 Injectors in case the injectors were tired but this did not improve the situation at all I have not played with any timing adjustments in the ECM seems #4 cylinder gets red first
Does anybody have any ideas what might be the problem ?

Hey good to be here again
Red manifild after rapair?
Or just start with this issue? Some problems with red manifold start whennwe put diferent injectors codes
If manifold start to hot temp also when engine coolant is not at 180F problem can be on programing, or tje quantity of air that turbo loads,

You can try to check the injector cal code, pm. I can give you good ideas i think to make n4 colder
Low psi ia possible bad calibration, injector sett wron, intake valv sett, all possibles

When i Modified the Smoke limiting Table so Max Fuel starts at 152 Instead 221 Then I got 31 Degrees PW at Full load which Gave me 480HP
Next I went Onto the PW table and Made the 100% load #42.000 This did not help much So i then Made the 75% load # 42.000 And also 87.5% load # 42.000 Now i am Getting 42 Degrees Pw This is Giving me 585HP Which is All i need For now
Has any one Here Played with BOI or know where i Could set the Injection Timing to Retard or Advance or Know which way to Go at Full load so the Engine would run cooler ?

For a generator application you may want to lower the droop. There are several droop parameters but i'm pretty sure only one of them will be the one you want. This will allow the ecm to add fuel sooner when load is added instead of waiting for the rpm to drop. Was your original cal an 1800 rpm or 2100 rpm cal? I will have to see if I have any generator cals

depend of your timing and everything you cannot change a number in pulse width and think all ajust by is self all creted too be like the cal is at the start you need too chaneg everything too make it work proprelly is easy change 2 number and run with high horse power i can do this but make a real cal is really hard

I have another question. Is it possible to accurately check the TDC on cylinder 1, without removing the injector 1. If this is not possible, before removing the injector, should I drain the coolant or not ? I don't want any coolant to go to the cylinder. Also, do I have to replace the O-rings of the injector and the bolt?
amishmafia00
5th January, 2017, 09:03 PM
To check tdc must remove injector. you do not have to drain coolant but if you do not drain fuel out of head it will go into the cylinder when you pull the injector. I cleared my inbox. I will check on shops in NV or nearby. Do you stay in NV?

Friends, I played with the pulse width table. I got the PW = 45 (with DDDL 1500 rpm, in treylor 45t). This is at Detroit 14, which has disabled the Egr. Turned out to be a monster. A month later the head of the engine broke down. Overheat. I think I needed to change the protection parameters, set shutdn_coolant_temp = 100 degrees Celsius, and shutdn_oil_temp = 105 ... Dear gurus, who can tell me what engine power I got if PV = 45 at 1500 rpm .. . thank you in advance for your response.

YOU NEED FLASH WITH THE RIGHT FILE , OR JUST PLAY WITH DCT ( NOT BASIC NOWLEDGE ) YOU NED CHANGE SEVERALSPARAMETERS AND DONE.
IF YOU WANT I CAN MAKE A CAL FOR YOU BUT NOT FOR FREE..SORRY
.A LOT OF PEOPLE TAKE ACID FILE AND SOME OF MY FILES AND RESELLS THE WORKS AND KEEP THEIR POCKETS WITH MONEY FROM THE WORK OF OTHERS .

Hi guys. I have a DDEC 4 and I need to change the ratings. With DDDL it has 2 ratings available - one is 430/500 and the other is 430. i want to make it a 500 not 430/500. With DDRS I see it has rating 0 which is 500. but it will not let me change it to that. With DDCT I see under customer changeable options it has ratings allowed and that value is 58. Do I need to change this to get my rating 0 - 500 option? Or is there something else i need to change so enable the option 0 - - 500
Thanks

Does anybody know how to enable jake brakes in 60 series DDEC 4 ECM with DDCT? This ECM was never programmed for Jakes. I went to control data then Jake/PAC engine brakes, changed retarder type from none to Jake/Pac brake. I did this exact same thing with a DDEC 5 and it worked, but connot get to work on DDEC 4. When I try to change Ins and outs for engine brake it tells me "Jake Brake not configured"
Thanks

Nearly a year with no response, eh?
I'm having what I believe to be a similar problem. Using ddct I uploaded the cal from my ECM, found one I wanted to try, converted it to same metafile, downloaded, now nothing!

I had it already, I just had to uninstall DDRE to install DDRS. Seems that the keygen.exe i have isn't working. Only have access to trial version, so program device option is not available. On a positive note though, the DDRS is able to connect to ECM.
What is the procedure to "reflash" the ECM with PRG file?
Also, what is the cause of the error? Are the calibrations incompatible with the ECM? Does a mismatch in minor versions cause the problem?

I have a DDEC 4 that has 2 engine ratings - one is 430 and the other is 430/470. is there any way to change it to just 470 with DDCT? I see in the calibration with DDCT it has ratings allowed at a value of 58. Does this need to be changed? Or is the only way to have a straight 470 HP is to download a totally different calibration? I would like to just modify the calibration that is in the truck now. Thanks

You can change the engine protect feature to warning only using DDDL.

i am using a DDEC 3 ECM on a DDEC 4 engine. The boost sensor only reads about 60% of the boost i am getting. What do I change with DDCT so the DDEC 4 sensor reads right with a DDEC 3 ECM? I looked under sensor processing and there is nothing for a boost sensor
Thanks

I am new to DCT, and am wondering if anyone can tell me how to actually download the calibration from my engine in a format that I can use and edit in DCT? The engine is a GK series DDEC-3, 1994 build; it is dead stock, 430 hp from the factory -- in fact, it's at ECM Software Version 8 (hasn't been plugged into since 1997).
