Hi,
for my garage project I'm looking to protect program from others in our competition group and I would like to know is it possible to change eeprom ID.

I'm using 29f040 plcc and it would help a lot if I could change ID to 29f010 or anything else to confuse those who would like to copy and use my file.

Sorry, didn't understand i'm not native english.
I have already sanded most of unique parts. I want to change ID in eeprom ID information. I know most of normal programmers will be able to detect ID automatically.

Still need to google more on this..

Pierre, sorry to say this, but nothing is unbreakable.
It's only a question of money.
Lots of people work hard to make some useful sw and the others work to steal the first ones work !
Look at those guis and what they are boasting about :
" Everything they make, we can break ! "

We are living in a wrong, vicious world !

Looks like PierreTheron (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/72478-pierretheron/) solution is for mcu's not just flash memory.
If i'm wrong please let me know.

Maybe there is other solution to change or permanently hide ID.

For example here is info from 27sf(/vf)020 datasheet:

PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION TABLE
..................................Byte....Data
Manufacturer?s Code 0000....H BF H
27SF020 Device Code 0001....H A6 H
27VF020 Device Code 0001....H C6 H

but those bytes in programmer appears blank to me, maybe there is an offset or something else must be taken into consideration.
