What you need to do is use MMM which you can find in Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/usbloader-gx-2-3-r1128-d2x-v7-mmm-13-4-1978/) if you don't have it. Then you need to install all the wads in d2x v7 final (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/d2x-v7-final-1913/) that has all the wads needed for the USB Loaders.

They need to go on an sd card in the wad folder stick it in the wii and then use homebrew channel and select mmm (multi mod manager) and install through that.

If you don't have MMM in the apps folder of the SD card extract it from Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/usbloader-gx-2-3-r1128-d2x-v7-mmm-13-4-1978/). Add all the wads out of d2x v7 final (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/d2x-v7-final-1913/) into the wad folder.

Startup your Wii and click on the Homebrew channel. Depending on how many apps you have on the card it should be the first one Multi-Mod Manager 13.4. Navigate down the menu with the big + button to WAD Manager and press 'A'. In that screen will list all wads in the wad folder. If you have loads then navigate down to the ones listed in d2x v7 final and press the small + button which puts a green tick next to the name, do that for all of them them press 'A'.

The next screen will list all wads you want to install, press 'A' to install them and watch the screen to see it says OK after each one. If you've missed one press 'B' and go back to select it. If it doesn't say OK go back with 'B' and select it again. They normally install the first time.

All the buttons and functions are shown at the bottom of each screen.

Almost all the files I have uploaded including this one is designed to be extracted to an empty sd card to reduce the chance of errors or confusion and include mmm an apps folder and a wads folder with relevant wads

Thanks to all who have tried to help me so far. I have downloaded and extracted Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 to a formatted sd card. When i put it into my wii it does not show up, what am i doing wrong?:hmmmm2:

I don't know what your doing wrong as Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm for installation.rar has an apps and a wad folder inside so those are in the right place.

What did you use to format the SD card Windows?

That always works for me but there are some users on here that that doesn't work, I've got no idea why not. So they tend to use SD Card Formatter (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/sd-card-formatter-1434/). Now to me you don't have to keep on formatting the card everytime just delete all files and folders. Oh it must be formatted FAT32 which Windows does by default on small drives.

Thanks Keith for your help with my problem, you are a god. I will explain exactly what i have done. I first loaded letterbomb on to my wii which installed the hbc. Then i downloaded and extracted hack pack part 2 which i got from mediafire. When i put this in to my wii i get 4 things come up. mmm-priloader-cios installer-and media player. I downloaded on the wads in the wad folder (49 i think) i then installed pri loader. After this i formatted my sd card (using windows) and downloaded hack pack part 3, again i got this from mediafire. Putting this into my wii i get 5 things come up. Usb loader gx but when played gives me the errors which i said before-Gc Backup launcher-Homebrew browser-Mplayer ce and NeoGamma- So the mmm has gone. SO i took the sd card out formatted it again. I then downloaded and extracted Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4, put the card back into my wii and all i get is hbc screen with bubbles on no apps or anything. Hope this is clear what i have done. I hope this gives you more info in to what i have done and hope you can help me solve this problem.

put the card back into my wii and all i get is hbc screen with bubbles on no apps or anything.

The bubbles screen means there is no SD card inserted or there are no apps in the apps sub folders with the different boot.dol files in there.

So you formatted it FAT32 in Windows then, which Windows are you using?

Sorry but you are wasting your time and money using a 4GB USB stick as it won't hold 1 game. Get yourself a mains powered USB external hard drive of at least 100GB and thats in the usb Compatibility List (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/36504-usb-compatibility-list.html)

Oh you can click the Thanks button if a particular reply has helped you out.

Tried many times to put usb loader to work. My wii version is 4.3E.
It tries to read the usb stick but returns to wii menu.
Perhaps it could work with the latest usb loader and all the wads in this page.

It could be a few things.

First of you can forget a USB stick as they don't hold much.

You don't say how the stick is formatted FAT32, NTFS or WBFS?

Make sure you have d2x v7 final (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/d2x-v7-final-1913/) installed with MMM 13.4.

Or Digital Kaos - Downloads - Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/usbloader-gx-2-3-r1128-d2x-v7-mmm-13-4-1978/)

I'm gonna test it some more time. After using for 3/4 hours the wii crashed twice.

Well as I've said USB sticks aren't ideal for loading games onto as they aren't big enough. You ideally need a mains powered USB HDD something thats compatible USB Compatible List (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/36504-usb-compatibility-list.html)

The thing is if your using a USB stick just to see if it works then ok but get yourself a bigger HDD.

I am trying to setup USB Loader on my Wii 4.3e which already has Homebrew on it.

I have formatted (FAT32) a 2gb wii SD card with Windows 7.

Put the 'Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm for installation' App & Wad folders on the clean SD card.

I used Homebrew to get onto MMM and attempted to install the d2x v7 files but after it runs through all seven of the files it says "Final Status - 7 did not complete."

I have reformatted SD in FAT32 and retried the process but only for the same result.

Not sure where I go from here and I am fairly new to all this wii modding stuff so apologies if I am doing something silly!

Well if all the 6 wads extracted with WinRAR without any error then that rar file is ok.

If MMM 13.4 doesn't say ok after each wad install make a note of the filename and select those by scrolling down and press the + button which will put a green tick next to that filename. Once you have select the wads that didn't install just press 'A' that will show you a list of all wads selected press 'A' again and watch for bad reports again.

To check if all the wads are in your system then do a sysCheck (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-11-1918/). You could post that sysCheck report as intructed in that download.

7 didn't complete I'm sure there are only 6 wads in d2x v7 final.

I've installed that d2x v7 final fromhere in mine and everyone installed correctly in one place.

There is no ios 236, in the 'Load another ios' options (as per the instructions), it goes up to 223 and then jumps to 249. I suspect this is the reason I can't install the wads but without the option to get 236 I am not sure what I can do.

p.s. I definitely have 7 wad files as follows:

IOS245[37]-v7.wad
IOS246[38]-v7.wad
IOS247[53]-v7.wad
IOS248[55]-v7.wad

Are you using Multi-Mod Manager (MMM) 13.4?. You install it the same as you install any wad just add the wads to the wad folder and select them from WAD Manager.

MMM is the only WAD Manager that works for me with one pass.

There is WAD Manager 1.7 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/new-wad-manager-1-7-1791/) if you want to try that.

For the time being I cannot install a single wad without the "Final Status - Did not complete" message.

So my external hdd with my ISOs, does it need to be formatted as WBFS?

You can remove the file from the sd card now it's modded or you can just rename the folder i.e. bootmii1 or anything that isn't "bootmii" I would keep the word bootmii in there somewhere though just do you know what it is.

I'm getting the error message that I needs unstubbed cios 222 v4 or 249 v9+

I've installed the wad files using MMM. Finally got the 7 wads to work as I was getting failed installation messages, then realised I was loading with the wrong iOS.

But now I realise that when I first installed HBC I had about 50 of the wad files fail and just didn't realise what that meant at the time.

So I'm still getting the unstubbed bios error message.

Exactly which problem are you having?

Now you posted in a usb loader gx wil version 4.3e thread so I'm assuming you have a 4.3 Wii and your having problems running USB Loader GX?

Yes the Homebrew installation goes Wii's internal memory anything else you want adding goes on the SD card then you can add Forwarders so they are all show on the Wii menu.

I will wait until you tell us the problems your having before I will tell you the fixes needed.

download this: Digital Kaos - Downloads - sysCheck v2.1.0 Beta 17 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-17-2071/)

Open/unzip File and copy it to the Apps Folder of your SD card.
SD should look like this: sd:/apps/syscheck

Insert SD card in Wii and run app from HBC (homebrew channel)
It will create a .csv file onto the root of the SD card.
Exit to System menu and remove the SD card
Insert the SD card in your computer and copy the .csv file to your computer.
Open the .csv document, copy the info into wordpad + post here.

Sure. What do I need to do?

And, yes, I'm running 4.3E. Had to use the Indiana_PWNS method as Letterbomb's site seems to be down.

Ok so you've softmodded your 4.3 Wii. Did you do a NAND backup and have you installed PriiLoader 0.7 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/priiloader-v0-7-1603/)? LetterBomb (http://hackmii.com/2011/08/letterbomb/) came out in July last year and I've never had any problems accessing it.

To get the USB Loaders to work you need to install all 7 wads in d2x v7.0 Final (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/d2x-v7-final-1913/) and install them properly this time with MMM.

As randallflagg says you could do with posting a sysCheck v2.1.0 Beta 17 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-17-2071/) report as instructed in that link then we will be able to see which other wads are missing.

This should get you up and running then you would need to install the Forwarders for the USB Loaders you want to use.

Now that you've softmodded your 4.3 you can now use larger SDHC cards.

So 222 and 249 are there?

Even though I'm still getting the missing cios message?

What are the cios files exactly?

cIOS is custom Input Output System. Providing you have installed the d2x v7.0 Final which that sysCheck report is showing then you should be ok. I don't have my sysCheck.csv with me so I can't check which base numbers mine is using on 222. I've never had any missing cIOS's when I've softmodded the 5 4.3's that I've done.

The dx2 only installs IOS245 to IOS251 as that sysCheck report shows.

If you want to install 222 then install the wads in Digital Kaos - Downloads - Full Cios wad pack (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/full-cios-wad-pack-1949/)

Have you put some games on an external USB drive and tried USB Loader GX?

why not just use http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f16/modmii-4-3-4-windows-170234/ select "w" for wizard then virgin install download files and tut skip the homebrew channel install as you have it already mod it and job done.
I have managed to install homebrew and bootmii from letterbomb but can't get anything working will modmii 4.3.4 sort this. Apologies if his makes no sense but i'm new to all this. Many thanks

Well if you've installed Homebrew and ModMii using LetterBomb then you must have a 4.3 Wii, did you install ALL 3 options and Prepare the SD card so you can do a NAND backup?

Now you have HBC you have the basic softmod what you need to do is sort out why you needed to softmod your Wii and get those apps installed. The general reason to softmod is so you can play backup games from a CD or external hard drive.

It maybe a 4.3 Wii now but what was it originally as Wii's 2009 and after won't play burnt games with NeoGamma. Type in the Wii serial number into Wii Drive Chip Database (http://www.wiidrives.com/list) to see when it was made.

The other option is to use one of the three main USB Loaders, USB Loader GX, CFG USB Loader or WiiFlow. The best and the popular one is USB Loader GX there are many threads on here that talk about it. USB Loader GX (http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/)

What you need to do to run any USB Loader is install d2x v7.0 Final (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/d2x-v7-final-1913/) there is d2x v8.0 in the download section but you won't need that at the moment.

You can install all the wads with Multi-Mod Manager [MMM] 13.4 (http://mmm4wii.posterous.com/).

If you have any problems you could post a sysCheck (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-17-2071/) report as instructed to see which wads you have installed and what type.

You can't find mario all stars (http://www.google.co.uk/#q=mario+all+stars&hl=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=shop&ei=6PqkT439DOqj0QWdy8zjAw&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=6&ved=0CD8Q_AUoBQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=561205851521b2e2&biw=1440&bih=719) bull.

I know it is keith but it is still a bit buggy mate, so unless you are up for some testing I'd wait a bit before installing it as it is not compatible with any previous versions of gx

Well I added USB Loader GX v3.0 last week which I mentioned in another thread. I didn't like it at first because it didn't show the normal spinning disc. I read the changes to v3.0 and you can select to see the spinning belt in the settings. I tried it on half a dozen games and it works the same as the last version.

There are only 1 or 2 games that don't work but the bugs are mainly in the enhancements and emulation which you don't use but would be no good for me

INSTALLATION - STEP 1

With the first file you download please extract it to your computer somewhere you can find it easy.

You will see there is 3 directories:

Wii Backup Manager
Extract to USB Device
Extract to SD Device

Ok copy your existing (if any) files from your SD card somewhere safe so if you need them you can easily get them back, and then either delete the files or format the SD card.

Now with a blank SD card please copy the contents of Extract to SD Device folder to your SD card once you have done this you should have the following folders on your SD CARD:

apps
wads

Place the SD into your wii fire up the homebrew channel and you should have WAD MANAGER 1.5 in view (if not please check your SD card for the folders above).

Go into the wad manager 1.5 and do the following:

Select IOS version to use: , Press A.
Select NAND Emulation device [disable], Press A.
Select source device: [Wii SD Slot], Press A.
Go to USBLoaderCFG_NForwarder-UCXF-Channel, press A.
Select action: [install wad], press A.
Come out of WAD Manager 1.5

Now you have just installed the USB LOADER that we will be using later to play your backup games via your USB HDD - This is a channel on your wii menu.

INSTALLATION - STEP 2

Now the Loader has been installed you need to install the file system onto the USB device (usb storage HDD) to prepare for your backup games to run from the USB drive.

If you are using vista or a version of windows that only supports you formatting you external hard drive in exFAT or NTFS then you will need the second file I posted above to format your machine to the correct FAT32 file system.

OK format your Drive (external HDD) to FAT32 please.

Now your drive is FAT32 you are ready to extract your files onto your external drive (USB Device)

Copy the "Extract to USB Device" folder directly to the root of your external drive.

Your Drive is now ready to install your backup games directly using the special software we will detail below.

INSTALLATION - STEP 3

We are now going to do the preparation of the ISO's (backup games) so that you can install them onto your USB Device.

Plug your USB Device into your PC
Find the folder "Wii Backup Manager"
Run the File "wiibackupmananger.exe"

Ok now I will explain this step with a little more detail:

You will see application open up that has quite a few options... they are not all necerssery at this time because we just want to take our ISO files and convert them.

Once the application is open there is 5 tabs

Files, DVD, Drive 1, Drive 2, Log*

Click the files tabs (it should already be on this)
Click the add button just below the files tab
Open your ISO file that you want to convert
Highlight the ISO (Game) by checking the select box
Click the Transfer tab (right of the add button)
it will bring up a small box --- click the WBFS File option
Find your Drive, and Choose the folder WBFS

The WBFS folder is the one we created earlier when you extracted the "Extract to USB Device" folder onto your usb drive.

You will store all your games in the "wbfs" folder.

INSTALLATION - FINAL STEP

OK the hard parts are done and now it is time to test your USB LOADER.

Turn on your WII with your USB device plugged into the USB slot.
[I]
Some Wii's use the right slot if you are looking at it from the back OTHER wii's have the USB slots on top of each other if you have them on top of each other use the BOTTOM USB slot.

OK fire it up and do this:

choose the USB LOADER from the wii MENU
it should give you a list of games you have put on your drive
choose your game
PLAY IT

Ok Windows won't format large drives to FAT32 so the easiest way is to use EASEUS Partition Master (http://www.filehippo.com/download_easeus_partition_master_home/) its free, I've used it and it works great.

There is EASEUS Partition Magic in the download section but thats an older version. There is also Fat 32 Formatter (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/fat-32-formatter-2019/).

No they don't Keith ????????? there are loaders which are designed to run on hermes cios which are 222,223 and 234 and can 't use the waninkoko cios which are 245 to 251....Usb loader gx is the only loader that can effectively use both sets but only if you use the rodries mod version of the hermes cios.........Hermes cios loaders are can almost always only read wbfs format as well. The best known of the hermes loaders is Uloader which until the development of the rodries mod and gx.2.3 was the only loader you could play rock band games with and have all instruments working

You may not use them keith but don't tell people all loaders use the same cios when they don't. To give the wrong information is worse than to give no information. Most people come on here to get answers because they don't understand the process. You also still recommend wbfs a format that works but works best hermes, so to recommend using waninkoko cios you should also be recommending fat 32 as they were designed to be used together as were hermes and wbfs

Well if the correct wads are installed post a sysCheck (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-17-2071/) as instructed in that link and your USB drive is compatible.

USB Compatibility List (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/36504-usb-compatibility-list.html)

USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp (http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List) USB powered drives are very hit and miss.

Then I would say you haven't loaded the games on the drive correctly, how have you done this?

As I say to all new member so we know what were working with post a sysCheck (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-17-2071/) as instructed in that link.

You never remove ios files and I can guarantee you have used the letterbomb link which is only the exploit not a softmod. More reading for you I think. No more spoonfeeding from me today.

I've installed HomeBrew on wii 4.3e, and now trying to install Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/usbloader-gx-2-3-r1128-d2x-v7-mmm-13-4-1978/) .
The question I have is about the IOS's. There are a number of threads about changing these, but how do you actually change them ?

What ios do you want to change, why do you want to change them and what ios do you have,,,,,, a syscheck would be handy at this point

New to this. The official readme: ReadMii - USB Loader GX (http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/help/readmii) says to that 4.3 should be avoided but this forum suggests the opposite. Does this work with 4.3e or not?

It does really say which version should be avoided in there. I've softmodded with the older USB Loader GX 2.3 r1128 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/usbloader-gx-2-3-r1128-d2x-v7-mmm-13-4-1978/) and the newest USBLoader GX 3.0 All in one package ios 249 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/usbloader-gx-3-0-all-one-package-ios-249-2214/) and both of them have worked perfectly. A 4.3 Wii can use the new or the old version. There is CFG USB Loader and WiiFlow but USB Loader GX is the best in my opinion.

I keep getting this 222=0 249=0 when trying to load USB Loader GX. I have tried it all. Fallowed so many tutorials and still nothing.
I am trying this, but there are no wad files in the d2x v7 final folder.

Well you need to do a bit more reading.

Well you can always post a sysCheck (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-beta18-zip-2360/) as intructed in that link then we can see which IOS's are missing.

If you want IOS222 then install Full Cios wad pack (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/full-cios-wad-pack-1949/). After that if USB Loader GX still doesn't work then post a new sysCheck.

I tried to run the syscheck and this is what I got.

Ohh.. I did the modmii thing and installed all the wad stuff. So the syscheck is kind of out of date.
It looks like the USB loader works now.

One last thing.. Do I need to have the SD card in the Wii all the time or is it possible to just copy the files over to a USB or HD?

Welcome to DK.

That sysCheck is of a Wii thats only been softmodded and nothing else. If that sysCheck is old why have you posted it when its got todays date at the bottom. When you post a sysCheck please do it as instructed in sysCheck. (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-beta18-zip-2360/)

Now you either post a new current sysCheck or read through these to make sure everything is covered.

The SD card is only for storing apps, settings and game pictures. If your using a USB Loader it has to be inserted.

You add games to a mains powered external USB drive not to an SD card, there are plenty of instruction on here.

You need PriiLoader (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/priiloader-v0-7-1603/) installing to block online and disc updates.

That looks ok to me.

If you want to remove the IOS16 stub download my cIOS16-v257.zip from http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f16/usb-loader-gx-requires-least-cios-222-245-250-a-309859/#post1807800 I added yesterday and put it in the wad folder on the SD card. Run Homebrew and install just that wad by selecting it with the + button that will put a greeen tick next to it. Then press 'A' then 'A' again and watch for the Installed OK message.

Thanks keith for your help so far, but still need more. I have downloaded and extracted the files you said, now how do i get them on my wii. I know this is probably basic for you but i still don't know exactly how to do it. Your help is much appreciated.

Get an SD card, make a folder called 'Apps' and place the files in there. Then insert the SD card into your wii and run the homebrew channell - the apps will show up

That post was made a year ago and I do give instructions.

It seems like your posting just so you can download things. Actually the apps folder should be lowercase else it won't work.
