actual production cost would be pretty small, plenty of places online where you can buy small quantities of pcb board done to design cheap. so a bit of cost for quality componets, then solder paste and assembly cost.

but who knows what he has spent initially - firmware development / or buying the zed-bull firmware hex file / unless buying mini zeds and taking the mcu out, then any design he hasn't done himself

Also no one likes to do a fair amount of work for free !!

Only a little part of effi is being used. Unlocking honda, chrysler, vw pin read by obd2 was part of the package that was never clone by china. Maybe the new firmware will have new function.

It would also be nice to have more calculators build into EFfi same as Gwee has shown us from TM100 software , it having Ford Mazda, Honda and Nissan.

I need to know that if I buy it will all future updates be free or will we have to pay for updates?
I have downloaded the new 2.70 to see which new modules have been added. Would you be able to add more modules if we request them? I would love the Toyota Avanza 2008 which is also know as the Daihatsu ~~~~~ in some countries. I can send you the dumps. I used CARPROG and it does it but really enjoy using EFFI for all my work.
I would like to know regarding the Ford bantam module if you could make it support the KEY TO DUMP like how the TANGO and TM100 have. If you can then I am definitely going to buy EFFi. Herewith are 2 different dumps of the Ford Bantam....

i just get my zed clone,faced and solved problem while connect to pc
i hope it will help some people to solve same situations
device worked well but no connection to pc so begin to search and found that usb pins on pcb (inside) have to much solder that comes out between pcp and usb connector
i solder it out and replaced usb because to much soldering destroyed isolation between pins
i read most all the forums for zed clone and think this is the most popular so i decide to post here

We are all awaiting for Sierra new product , in the meantime i've a tech question for DK members.
I've a mini zed-bull clone and i've serious problem detecting transponder with built in aerial.
Sometimes find the transponder at first time, sometimes have serious difficult to find the transponder.
Tried in all position.
The aerial is made with some wire and have a resistance of few ohm.
Tried with an aerial taken from a car, but this aerial have more resistance than original coil, and zed bul
display faulty antenna.
Someone have suggested to use a more capable power supply with minimum of 2 ampere output.
Have you got any advice or find a working solution?

hi, i would suggest trying to wind off a few winds and try again, as that antena is pourly calibrated :)

First thing I did with zed clone was open cover, get rid of bad soldering, cleaning PCB. After this I have no problems with transponder reading.

From my experience- replace power connector becouse it's bad quality during boot if you move plug it is losing contact and I believe this is main reason why firmware in zed gets corrupted

ray010 - this tool can do only specific jobs and only in combination with the EFFI software. Without the software it's pretty much useless beyond it's capability to read the key. Better get to know the functions of the EFFI software.

The EFfi software is very good but Sierra has fixed loads of bugs and faults even from the original software source so you do need the latest paid for version.

Theres no real manual for these.
Most of it is self teaching and looking on the forum mate .
If you need help specific then ask here or you will find on the forum under particular procedure .
Thre was a trial version of EFfi on here it will help you get familiar with it at least.

Yes I'm sure that's what it's for I have an original zed-bull. All the clone zed-bull I have seen the socket is just connected to the pcb in the zed-bull but doesn't connect to anything. Maybe some of the early clones have the missing hardware and can support the tph and tpx boxes but I haven't seen one that can.

all the zedbulls that i have had, all have this socket but not connected internally, just a china trick to make buyers think that it would be upgradeable :)

Not saying they all have the hardware missing but I have only seen the insides of two clone zed-bulls one mini and one full size. Neither of them had the ability to make use of this port and I can only comment on what I have personally seen.
If indeed some of the clones have this port and some don't it would suggest that there is more than one version of the zed-bull clones (discounting the mini). So maybe if people could list suppliers that that supply the clone with this port operational?

So after a month of waiting,device finally arrived(Thanks to Serbia Customs,where it was kept for 3 weeks).

Device feels great in hands,high end build quality.
By size it is very small,it is smaller than my palm.
It has one USB connector,and one 3.5mm jack for external antenna,just incase.
New software looks great,though it has one bug.
It will crash if there is no device connected.
Device is solely powered from USB port.
Tested with BMW EWS,it wrote key OK.
Tested Fiat Stilo,wrote OK.
Tested Alfa Romeo 147,wrote OK.

but your assuming the price is going to be reasonable due to the cost of effi, until I know the price I will remain pessimistic and think that after so long developing this that theres going to be an insane price tag with little extra modules and a promise of updates.

I think simaservis has just confirmed the lack of new modules due to development of the hardware, so I await being proved wrong about the cost.. I will also bear in mind Sierra taking offense when I stuck up for the price of Tango saying that if effi had written its code from scratch and firmware/hardware that he wouldn't offer it cheap - so I'll be interested what he sets his price at now he has done at least the hardware if not firmware from scratch.

as you know certain modules are used daily but others are more obscure.

I didnt realise how much i used it until my laptop went faulty and was without it for a few days .

Guys, give him a break. He might have underestimated the whole project like 99% of project managers. It's normal for project to take at least twice as LONG and COST twice as much $$$. Beta version will take long time to test and debug. And I'm sure manufacturing and distribution is not as easy as you think.

Last thing he wants to do is sell crappy hardware like most chinese clones. However I would suggest him to make a reliable hardware and release a beta2. software is easy to update but hardware failure is harder to fix quickly. DK member are smart enough to tolerate bugs as long as updates comes regularly.

are you forgetting effi started life from hacked zedbull software?? but guess its ok to ripoff expensive tools because you dont want/ can't pay for them, but ripping off effi is bad because you deem it as affordable and saves you having to pay more.

and development stopped to make the new hardware not because of the new cracked version, also dont you think its bad IEA stopped updating zedbull no doubt affected by effi having all their eprom modules.

Bought zed-bull clone (big) and missing this option.

Hi, I've got problem with EFFI (version 2.7.2, 173 modules, by Luis Andree) on market (cheap) tablet with Windows 8.1.

While starting application, it shows on splash screen - decrypting data OK, running OK and then it turns windows error corresponding to effi.dll file. Previous version with 100 modules (without splash screen by Luis Andree) works great. I've tried different compatibity modes, administrative privileges and DEP disabling (data execution prevention) - without succes. What more interesting application runs fine on desktop version of Windows - W7 64bit, W8.1 64 bit, even W10 (but with compatibility mode). Other apps work without problem for example - zed full genuine ap, ak90 ews by hrt, xprog app and others.

I will be very apprecieted if somebody know the solution and want share it. Thanks.
