Hi, any help please in what to check. i have a spiderbox 7000hd and on dish is Technomate motor. All was working fine using USALS up to last week. Now I find that the motor does not drive to each sat, but if I change to Disque and do it manually it will go to the sat (with a lot of patience) and then store the setting. I have stored 28e 19e and 13e but wonder why USALS has stopped working. Any pointers please. I did a factory reset and that did not help.
Thanks

cant help as such mate but its a common problem with TM motors and spiderboxes, although they usually do get there in the end on usals, they work fine on diseqc1.2.

Hi. NEVER do a factory reset when you have a problem with things like motors , it will not resolve the problems. A factory reset will restore channel list, TP's etc back to factory level. It will also overwrite any motor settings you had setup. You will need to do the following:
1) Re-enter your USALS location figures.
2) Send dish to a satellite like HOTBIRD using USALS. Make sure dish actually moves.
3) When dish stops in motor menu set motor option to OFF.
4) From HOTBIRD channel list select any FTA channel.
5) Then loosen the dish and move it left or right slowly until picture appears for the FTA channel you selected. Make sure quality is good then tighten the dish up. Check the other channels on HOTBIRD are ok if not re-align the dish again .
6) Set motor option back to USALS and check the other satellites. If other satellites not working then re-align the dish. If working with Diseqc(1.2) then it should work also with USALS. Hope this makes sense.
Nb Do you have a TM2600 motor??

probably a underhand tactic by the spiderboys so everyone with a tm motor drops it in favour of a darkmotor..."new generation my arse" regards mdt

Yeah nothing wrong with TM motors like TM2600 in my opinion they are brilliant motors - very accurate. I dont understand why they dont work properly in Spiders. If they work ok using disecq(1.2) then they should also work using USALS in the Spiders.
Take care

They do not work correctly in spiderbox, sw conflicts.
Also TM motors are only clones anyway.

Thanks for all of your replies. I tried again many times to get the motor to work on Usals and it does to a fashion. But very hit and miss. What is strange is the message " moving to "xxx" satellite does not always appear, just the message, "no signal". Very seldom the motor eventually gets to the correct satellite then passes it by?? I have locked on a few sats by using the disecq mode but having trouble with sats on west side between 0.8 and 30w. I know it will go to these sats using the disecq drive function.... I may try using my TM 6900hd box and see if the same problem still occurs.
Once again thanks guys for all of your input..

Rebadged all the same.
As are the Dark Motors rebadged version of the Clarke Tech DG380, I think every motor in the UK is a rebadged version of something else.

Hi. A couple of points to note:
1) The 'moving to sat' message will always appear under USALS even if you dont have a motor. If motor setting is set to OFF then message will not appear. Under Diseqc 1.2 message will only appear if satellite chosen has been found and stored.
2) The 'NO SIGNAL' message sometimes appears when dish is moving and comes across a signal from another satellite before it reaches its destination satellite. This is normal, i get it all the time..
3) If USALS is missing the satellites then check your location settings or you have not aligned it properly to the first satellite.
Regards.

stab motors arent re-badged versions of anything AFAIA, regards mdt

And that is why official STAB motors are imported and not made for the UK market as you know they are normally rebranded GBsat, I was referring to what most people buy that are so called for the british market as in the Dark Motor, TM2300/2600, Icekrypt etc...

i forgot m8 as i have a technomate branded stab 100 usals motor here as you know... each usals motors have pro,s and con,s anyway so its down to personal choice and budget as to which motor to choose/use imho, regards mdt

You are spot on mdt. STAB is the italian company that invented USALS and EUTELSAT invented DISEQC. Motors like TM, DARK, ALSAT or whatever all use the same software under licence from STAB/EUTELSAT. If you look at your receiver you will see the names DISEQC and STAB USALS usually stamped on them. Again this is because receiver companies have licence agreements to use the motor software.

Quick update. I spent a couple of hours on Sunday trying to sort this. I moved the dish using Diseqc motor drive and eventually found Thor. I then Pressed go to centre, then recalculate position and saved. To my amazement, the dish now goes to all the sats ok using Usals. Still a bit amazed this worked and will have to wait to see if this fix worked...

Hi well done for making progress. As mentioned many times before with USALS you need to find the first satellite correctly and it will do the rest after maybe a few adjustments.
