Hi - first post - long time lurker :)

Am having an issue trying to get my Vu Duo (Vix 2.4) distributed via a Triax Tri link modulator via the scart output (main tv is connected to HDMI).

I can get a picture on TV 2 no problem but can't get any sound at all. I have tried multiple channels on the triax but interestingly I cannot get the Triax 'magic eye' to work either (have tried both of my Triax Compact Digital links). I have connected the IR sensor to the very bottom left of the display screen on the Vu. I removed the fascia to get an accurate sensor postioning.

Not being all that clued up on these units yet - I can't find any settings that would affect audio over the scart - one would assume this would just operate.

I am leaning towards the triax being faulty but if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated, am pulling my hair out at the mo.

silly question are you using a good fully wired scart and is fully inserted.

First was a bit of a cheap effort I found in a draw but then went and dug out a decent quality one. Just double checked and connected firmly enough at both ends. Will pop it open and make sure its fully wired though - good suggestion.

Its the same result from both scart outputs on the Vu+ I might add.

Scart cable is fully wired - all pins are populated - had hoped it was going to be that simple, alas not!

Hehe yeah its all wired spot on - been over it a few times (even refitted all F-connectors and rewired the wall plates to be sure). The freeview signal and the video is being modulated fine.

Have tried both outputs (9v) and unpowered with the same result - picture but no sound.

hmm maybe try scart to tv and see what happens, you should be able to check it if tv has a scart just go to av1 or whatever
your settings are as that should say if box has a working scart outlet.
is 2nd tv scanned correctly? there are pdf downloads for more info in the triax site.

I did think about checking the scart through to the TV last night but TV is mounted flush and is a two man job to lift to get access easily.

Am borrowing a smaller screen on the way home from work to test with. At least then can confirm if the Vu is actually transmitting the audio over scart.

If it is and its not getting being passed by the Triax then the Triax has to be faulty. If not then I guess wll try another image or a reflash of existing. Still have the issue with the remote IR not working though too - cant see any reason for that other than the Triax not working correctly.

relook at the video as i think you may have missed something.

Audio problem is sorted - I have the Vu+ connected via HDMI through my Yamaha AV amplifier but to get audio across the scart have had to downmix to PCM. I was a little silly to assume this would take place automatically across the scart connection.

Is this an image (Vix 2.4) limitation or a limitation of the box itself?

Can't get the magic eyes working though, regardless what I try. The Magic eye has power at the second location which would indicate the 9v is being passed but I cannot get it to control any unit the ir emitters are attached to (Vu or Amplifier).

Just cracked the IR pass too! Seems the wall socket sending the feed back up to the loft has a capacitor which was stopping the 9v passing through. The magic eye was lit up as the loft distributor is powered and gave the impression the magic eye was powered correctly by the Triax.

Just set up a straight thru connector bypassing the wall plate and bingo!

Thanks for your assistance cactikid - appreciated :)

Works a treat - my only issue is beng forced to downmix audio to PCM across all outputs to get audio over the scart output.

With regards to the tri link, does both receivers have to be watching the same channel?

Well in your setup its a duo, takeup one of the tuner slots?

Thats because SCART and RF can only carry a downmixed PCM track L/R
