1998 passat clock change ?

I've got a set of clocks to change on an old passat tomorrow is there nothing I need to know ? I've got a tacho universal and also autoboss v30 which should do this by obd port ? Is that right ? Or do I o with plug inbackof clock ? Also what lead for tacho ? Thanks
