Hi guys, basically need to update my f3, still on july firmware, where can I get the latest firmware, also should I get the scooby snack firmware instead?

Do you really need to update your firmware?

If you really feel the need to update then, imho, it would be best to use the firmware directly available the manufacturers website..

i have recently put this firmware on my M3 (works for F3 too) and i find it very stable and box is fast and responsive.

it's named -
SKYBOX F3_M3_WIFI_3601HD_CMT_12092004D1

and i think its very recent - dated 19th oct 2012. (although it could be the same firmware from the official site listed 20th sept??)

anyway....it works very well for me...big improvement over the stock firmware...

yeah...my box ****ed up :)...was stuck on a red light...took me a whole weekend to get it back....thread on it here somewhere (last weekend)
i got the stock firmware to go on, but there was no option for viewing the cccam or newcam lines after you updated them, the menu options just werent there....so i updated to the latest firmware thinking it would do no harm and the options were in the menu list then, also the whole box felt faster and more responsive

1. Add "Micro Panel" to improve the remote control, when play channel ,press "M/P" key .
2. Add Youtube Function, (Network App).
3. When update the new firmware , keep the satellites data and system setting.(Upgrade By USB).
4. Fav groups name will be save in the TP_PROG.DBS, when dump the TP_PROG.DBS by USB.

Im using it at the moment, as far as i can see it adds youtube and thats about it.

I have tried a few lately to try and resolve a voice sync issue and to be honest they have all seemed to work the same with no obvious improvement in performance with any of them.

My advice is if your box is working fine then leave alone

I had the same problem i ended up reverting back to the old one i backed up which is stable but i don't think ill update till they fix that and maybe fix some other stuff like video and audio recording sync problems as well.

The official dongle has to have your routers security enabled, but only one, ie WEP or WEP2

Been reading about it here on the forum today, and wandered what the appropriate action may be for reviving it. Will I have to reflash it with older firmware to do this then update? Any help will be greatly recieved, and I will try to read a lot more using the search function.

Everytime I install FW, 1st startup, etc I have to move it to our other TV that's 1080 to find my way to the screen where I can set resolution to 780P (as our main TV is only 780P). This gives me the red light that you see.

If that's not it the turn it off via the switch in the rear, count to 30 and turn it back on trick is an old standby for these boxes.

The Firmware worked ok but I only used it for an hour or so as there is a bug.

If you delete all the channel and favourites data then load a up to date channel list like AJ's then the old favourites don't get deleted, I tried it about 5 times and they just remain there so I went back to my old firmware and then reloaded AJ's channel list......problem solved :)

Im really surprised we dont see more advanced users loading there custom firmwares with up to date channel/fav list included, I tried the scooby one which was good but it does not seem to be so up to date.

Aint seen one yet sadly, all the firmwares seem to come with only 28east.

One can get the Satellite list from here:

check my posting for the satellite list, someones uploaded a list with all the satellites.

One could just do a blind scan on the satellites they wanted, while no where as good as a custom channel list with all sats, its the best for now.

To load firmware on the F3/F5 you just place the image on a USB stick plug this into the box and select the USB menu and Upload select which file you want by pressing left or right in you case choose the image file tab and then press ok to flash

Going to answer my own question..no it doesn't...have a download with 3 languages, 2 are in dts with one of those being English and Flemish is in AC3...will just have to learn Flemish!

My previous Firmware called scooby snacks I think also contained the channel list so also had to load a PROG_TP.dbs file to get channels list after I flashed with the Firmware above. I used AJ's from the thread in the sticky, looks ok but the Favourites aren't named. Will try a few and see what one I think best.

Great site though, really helpful especially for a Newbie.

I converted the mkv with dts to mkv with AC3.

I used Popcorn MKV Audio Converter DTS to AC3 but AviSynth 2.5 was also recommended.

I'm also assuming that I can take an audio feed from the F3 to my Bluray players speakers or an amp?
