Hi,


i have a EWS from a 07/98 E39 520i here on my desk.
Somebody fiddled around with NCS Expert and set the EWS-mode from 3.2 to 3.3 and know the engine cannot start and no EWS-alignment can be carried out.

Can somebody please set the mode back to 3.2 so that i will work with a MS41.0.

did you perform a diag ?

what dtc have on ews and ecu ?

alignment is possible to do from inpa /DIS

what error do you have when you try to do alignment

unfortunately it does not work. Same as before.

The problem is not the key but the interface between EWS and DME. The communication in EWS3.2 mode is different to EWS3.3, i think you know. The MS41.0 only understand EWS2 and EWS3.2 protocoll. Now the mode is set to EWS3.3 and EWS alignment is not possible.

So i need to set the EWS back to EWS3.2 mode.
Does anybody have an EWS3-dump from a car with MS41.0 (E39, E38)?

Here are the details.

BMW part number 61 35 8 382 453
HW02 SW05

But this part number was used in EWS3.2 and in EWS3.3 cars too, so it will not help to look for a dump.
The dump must be from car a with MS41(6 cylinder) or M5.2 (8 cylinder)

The ISN is matching, thats not the problem. GT1 says something like "EWS and DME are not compatible" .

The last option is to remove immobilizer function from DME.
I that what you want to do?

ISN of DME-EWS not same.
ISN EWS is 0D77
ISN DME is 024B

Thats not the file from the 520i. This file has nothing to do with this thread. I checked the ISN from the 520i DME via INPA and its also 0D77. Sorry for the confusion.;-)
