hello, just bought a eurovox ex5100, tried installing the chanels and all its comin up with is scrambled chanels!!!!!
can anyone point is in the right direction of what i need to do to get it working??? thanks

i have manged to fix it now, what i did was under device manger i changed what com port it was on and then i was able to get t working, thanks.

Thats all you need for your 5100 to pick up all your channels.

The majority don't sell them flashed, post the system info.

Plug the box into your TV via scart,

Press menu, config, system info and type back what it says in there.

i've left it to do it's thing, got back nothing has happen it just went back to the user installation screen!!!!

Hello there , I just purchased the eurovox pvr and am about to update the firmware as recommended on this site. How do I check if the firmware on the eurovox is the latest ? Under the system information settings it says that the s/w version is 1.0 ST4 Jan06 2009 When I bought the box I was assured that it would work "straight out of the box" does this mean that the system has changed very recently or am i missing something here, the box seems to see all the channels but most are scrambled. I have the lead and a serial to usb convertor so I'm ready to go apart from the necessary firmware file if I need it at all. Thanks for any help with this sorry if I posted in wrong place these forums are a tad confusing and I need to get my head round how they work cheers people :D

You have a signal now so do a factory default and powerscan on 6887 if that doesnt work do another powerscan and try 6952

alright m8 me again differn problem now,
i did a test record the other day it was fine and i i try to record today but it only go's for about 5sec then stops, i've power down and on again, pull the hhd out and in again still no joy and the counter doesn't pop up in the corner aswell and i notice that it take awhile to power up?

If its working at your mates in the same area then you have an incoming weak signal problem.

M8, the Euro Ex5000PVR softwa*e has a built in signal booster.
Menu > Config > Tv settings> OK > Signal Booster > ON > OK.
Try that first.
And also make sure all cables are pushed in tight.

Did the problem with HDD get sorted out or not?

If not, when you flashed the box, did you do it with the HDD in or did you add the HDD after?

I've recently got a eurovox ex5100 that was arlready flashed and seems to have most channels however over the past few weeks 2 of the sport channels have been scrambled. do i need to reset to factory degault before i power scan or is there a simpler way if i just need the sport channles rescanning?

Unfortunately at the moment there is no fix for the ex5100pvr in Ireland. BUT dont worry m8, as new firmware should be available very,very soon. So u will just have to hang on a little while longer and then u will be OK.

Hello m8, the channels u are receiving are the free view channels. In order to view the scrambled ones, u will have to update your box with the latest softwa*e, which is available from the downloads section. Use the correct softwa*e for your box model.

We're not even getting al the freeview channels !!! Read on another website that I shouldn't flash it as if I haven't got all the freeview channels to start off with then the box must be faulty? I am sooooo useless with anything technical !! Any advice ?

Hi Andy, I've installed t'firmware on t'pooter but just realised the blinking pooter doesn't have a 9 pin scart thingy so I'm going to have to take a trip to maplins 2moz and get a usb adapter thing.....bet you're astounded at how technical I am!! I was just a bit concerned that we aren't even getting all the freeview channels through the box at the mo let alone anything else ?
We're practically neighbours by the way, I'm in Warrington!! Looking forward to the start of the season....might be why I'm desperate to get this thing up and running !!!

You don't need to have the cable connected to the cable feed. Just power and connection to computer really for the flashing part.

When you plug in your box to the PC, does it come up with a "New USB device detected" message?

Try forcing the com port change to Port 3. Reboot PC for good measure and try again.

I never flash boxes on standby. Try powering-up box & then flash.
It's no harm to connect scart to TV before flashing, as screen will keep you informed. If you have H/drive inserted remove it until after flash.
One more thing you could try, that might help.
MENU--OK--1968--1968---HIT BLUE(default key) , then try flash.

If you find your hitting a brick wall make sure comport is 1,2,3.or 4
You could save firmware on USB-stick, go to friend's house who has P.C. with 9-pin com port. If this fails try SAMARITANS

Hi all, i have flashed my ex5100 pvr, scanned my box, had every channel going untill i noticed there was no sound on some of my movie channels, i have scanned the box to find i have less channels everytime i scan, i have next to nothing left. :dontknow:

Earlier on in the week my services got cut off, but my bills have been paid and i am now active.

ITS OK, I HAVE DONE A FACTORY RESET AND RE-SCANED, GOT ALL MY CHANNELS, GET IN!

I have just bought an EX5100 which was preloaded with FTA software. I tried a scan anyway and found it only showed free to air channels. I downloaded the UFL from here and tried to flash iit but it just said download fails. Anyway, i tried it on tv again just in case it worked and box wouldn't come out of stand by mode. I switched it off with power button on back and now the switch seems to be locked in the off position. It will not switch on.
Anyone any ideas? Are they now being sold with some kind of protection or has my box gone faulty just by coincidence?

YES, update the softwa*e and you will be able to view the scrambled channels. Have a look here>Eurovox (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f71/) and read the stickys in red, it explains what you need to do.

Make the most of the channels you have left m8 as it sounds like Nagra 3 has arrived in your area. Nagra 3 is the new secure encryption being rolled out by VM.
Slowly you will loose the remaining channels. You will be left with FTA channels only. There is no new firmware for these boxes.
