I have a 2006 Ford Transit in the workshop , When I press the blue key to lock the van the central locking sometimes doesnt work , The only way to fix is to put the key in ignition and start engine and let it run for a couple of minutes , then after i take the key out and press the button it works , Can any body tell me how to remedy problem ,
Thanks in advance .

Sounds like fobs battery has gone weak, it has rechargeable battery inside.
Probably easiest way to fix is to get new key fob.

Yep agree cut apart carefully and resolder broken battery tag ?.
If not broken buy new rechargable battery and solder in.
and also a new case if you have trouble taking apart orignal then super glue back togehther .

First find a Zed-Bull and recharge the battery with BMW option to check if you have a problem with ignition charging module.

Check under the drivers seat,

You will find a 2nd battery which is used to run the permanent live accessories and it is probably faulty or has poor connections to it.

Let me know if that isn't the problem and I will try to help further :)

its the black 4 pin switches
that are knacker change them (all 3 or just the ones that don't work) & the remote will work perfect

I have repaired loads of them with the same problem

Hi yes change the buttons (switches) 8 times out of 10 that's the problem
i have repaired many of them this way

The white box on the left short the 2 pins with a bit of wire (this bypasses the switch)
if the van locks or unlocks then you know the switch is no good & they need changing

The white box on the right you can also short the pins out to bypass the swich

P.s....The swiches don't have to be removed to test them
