chances are it has a bit of wetstring that has dried out.....what is t problen

Problem no speedo mate, but there is spare set of clocks in car and still no speedo, there is a gearbox pick up and theres voltage and signal from it so some where something is down, also car has been taxi and at some point (dont know when) that the wiring has been tapped into for meter.
